I use Maruto 8/0 Circle hooks. I get them from Angler Innovations. If you want to look into them, I have links for all the gear I use in the video's description. They're fantastic hooks. Thanks for watching!
This particular tournament was held by The Ohio River Catfish Series in Gallipolis, OH. They run a tournament trail along the ohio river with stops in Indiana, Kentucky, and Oh/WV. Thanks for watching
Congratulations. Well done. What happens with the fish you weigh in ? Are they released or does too much time out of water kill them. You could definitely feed a lot of hungry people 😋. I’m just curious
All the tournaments I fish require a livewell capable of keeping these awesome fish alive. All fish are released immediately after the tournament weigh-in. If I fish dies, you get disqualified. Thank you for watching!!
Thanks so much for your response. I just learned something. Everyday I learn something new is a blessed day of new knowledge and I’m always grateful. 👍
@@hammer-downcatfishingwithj7223 ok I'll check it out......I'm still exploring some of the lakes but stonecoal and stone wall are close as well as Burnsville
We were fishing a tournament. Fish were safely transfered into my 70 gallon livewell to the weigh-in location, then released healthy back into the river.
I love watching these vids!!
I appreciate you checking them out!!
Awesome big blue at what I thought was the end of the video but wait it’s looking like one more. Super exciting. Loved this video 👍👍👍
We made a move right after we caught the big one in hopes of another one. Unfortunately it didn't pay off much!
Congrats on placing 4th guys , great video Joe 🎣
Thanks!!
Great job !! Congrats!!💪🔥
Thanks!
Me like watching your fishing show I learn alote from you
Thanks for watching
A video of you catching bait on the river would be great
Good suggestion! I'll put that on the list for future videos. Thanks for watching
What size rods are you using?
Sweet! Congrats
Thanks Jeff!

I’ve never been in or watched a fishing tournament. This looks fun and intense. I can actually feel the drive and competition. Awesome 👏
Thanks! I love competing
This is my first year tournament fishing and can honestly say a tournament can be won in the last 30 seconds. Gotta keep grinding
Yes sir! Never give up. Thanks for watching
Good grind can't catch fish with no baits in the water
Absolutely! Thanks again for watching
Ok “Grilled Catfish Fillets with Lemon Pepper” Lol love it Guys stay safe.. Semper Fidelis
Thanks! I'd be afraid to grow a 3rd arm eating catfish out of that river! 😆
@@hammer-downcatfishingwithj7223 lol that’s right it’s the Ohio…
Nice work guys!
Thanks brother!
Way to go Joe and Mark!!! Solid day and showing!!!
Great video!
Thanks my man!
Way to grind it out!!
Thanks!
I think all of these tournaments should be length only a quick picture and back in the WATER WHERE IT WAS CAUGHT
I like that idea! There are a few catfish tournament trails that adopted that. Thanks for watching
Cats are just super hearty. Bass on the other hand weight on spot and release is much more sustainable
Great fishing. What kind of hooks do you use and what size?

Good job guys. Didn't know that bluecat rule nothing under 24". I like it, West Virginia does a great job protecting their catfish.
WV got it together! I wish other states would mirror them. Thanks for watching
Can you give any info on the tournament? Im on the river in WV and would love to partake in the festivities.

Do they have any kayak catfishing tournaments here in wv??? I moved here from kansas last year
Honestly, not that I know of locally however I've heard of some "open" water online kayak tournaments.

Good luck on the water and thanks for checking out the video
Dude we are allowed 1 rod in Minnesota 😂 Jealous of our laws?
🤣 That's rough!! I thought we had it bad in Pennsylvania with 3 rods a piece.
I'm telling you from experience fishing against joe in tournaments just give him your money in the morning
🤣 Thanks!
You should release your fish first before all the talking and fist bumbs
