And don't forget Kakao M for neglecting our Sales until 3rd week. So conclusion, they don't have grudge with LOONA so much they prevent us win, they have grudge with this concept and any band promoting it.

Then the kkt messages and contract details were leaked to Dispatch, and it turns out they were in 2nd-gen level slave contracts. Then most of the members filed lawsuits to get out of their contracts. Currently some are free and some are in limbo. Some moved over to Modhaus, the home of tripleS. It's been a wild, emotional ride. If you're curious and have some downtime, there's a really good megathread over on the LOONA subreddit, detailing the facts and the timeline. But in summary, their company is no good and all us fans are really worried and sad all the time these days.

Even more, the way their contract was setup (which was disproportionally worse than the majority of other idol contracts in the industry), they essentially got deeper into debt the longer they promote instead of making money. Their contracts required them to cover a large quantity of production costs on top of normal trainee debt which is unheard of in the idol industry. Half of the members were able to legally win their lawsuits and terminate their contracts. The others "lost" but are still in dispute with the company. This boycott (and members trying to leave the company) pretty much all kick-started when the company kicked out their most popular member, Chuu, and made up rumors and bullying allegations about Chuu to defend their actions.

Honestly, Loona was kinda destined to fail, given how expensive of a project it is. If the project was promoted by a bigger company, then maybe it would've been successful, but the company just didn't have enough presence in the industry for an idea of this magnitude to be successful, financially. this is arguably one of the most underrated kpop songs of all time.. this kinda vibe and sound were ahead of this time as a titled track.. sometimes i've been thinking new jeans kinda into this direction and perfected it with good catchy pop sounds but loona pioneered it.. is a bummer this song didn't hit when it released.. maybe they are not from one of the big companies..

In kpop the connection to the right backer or company makes you popular and brings you numbers on the spot. It is even stronger when your connection is one of the big four. Let's be honest a girls group like "Sonamoo" (you should check their videos to see how talented they are) never made it and people wouldn't pay attention to them cause they lacked the right connection. Sonamoo was a 3rd generation kpop group that debuted in 2014 and dissolved around 2020. Whenever I recommended their videos so people could see their potentials they refused to check on them even once. If they had the luck of a group like "Twice" that is under JYP or Blackpink that was under YG and labelmates of huge groups like Big Bang and 2ne1, nobody would have shunned their talents nor slept on them.

Sad but true. The only way rookies get automatic recognition and have eyes on them is if they come from big name companies like SM, JYP, and YG. I saw people were saying that the girls screentime compared to the non Loona members is poor. I see those other girls as representing women on a global scale which is why they are the focus. In the time we see Loona I was still able to notice each member shine. This video though shows Loona as a whole and what they represent as a group. I feel they succeeded in their goal of displaying that.

this is one of the songs that got me fully immersed into kpop. Even though I'm not very familiar with Loona, their music is beautiful and holds a special place in my heart. These girls touched so many hearts but received nothing for their work, constantly mistreated by their company. I hope Chuu can now have the opportunity to spread out her wings and have her dreams come true, while also being properly compensated for her work

I think what’s so impactful about this video is that while Loona is featured heavily, the girls aren’t the main selling point. It’s the overall aesthetic and the song that is highlighted. Loona is just one of the many featured ladies; they are just performers. they don’t outshine each other. Idk if it makes sense but it’s not cute pretty girls that are the selling point, rather it’s the song/performance. It’s elegance, it’s sisterhood, it’s worldwide togetherness. Addictively amazing.

I never expected this much diversity in a K-pop video! And it's not even in a gimmicky "look cool westerners" way ! It's actually about empowerment and embracing differences! This is really amazing for a kpop video, because they don't necessarily NEED to do this, being a fairly homogeneous country; Unlike more diverse countries where it's kind of a disservice not to include people of different races, color, and backgrounds.

coming back to this after the solid debut and comeback for loosemble, the solo debut of chuu, the debut of artms, and the teasers for yves debut...i can say for sure that 2024 was the year of loona even though they aren't allowed to use that name anymore. this song truly aged like fine wine and i remember listening to it back in 2019 as a baby orbit thinking that this group was going to change the industry. i guess its a little late but thank you LOONA for changing my life and i'm sorry to see you go so soon.
just for those talking about the "fly like a butterfly". choerry is the one who sings it. and her animal is a fruit bat. fruit bats produce high frequency/pitched sounds. and you can easily hear it bc it means that the sounds she makes are "vibrating" through the air, sending shockwaves. like a butterfly, she can use those words to send the message to fly like a butterfly everytime she sings it, letting people hear it. so yes, this mv is still lore-based. the girl sleeping represents olivia in egoist. the black woman who kicked the wall represents heejin who flies high in at the end of hi high. the albino woman represents yves who bit the apple as well as the students, who looked up, during love4eva when yves was looking out the window before she decided to sneak out. loona, and the women in here, represented each other. there's a lot of reference in this mv that tied down to the ones before, so you can't just say that this isn't like the old mvs.

This music video is gathering all women (orbits) around the world, LOONA is empowering not only women, but all people with their discrete meaning in this Butterfly mv. They were able to create a revolutionary piece of art that is thriving with diversity and slowly but surely being known by all. Your work is absolutely mesmerizing LOONA, what a beautiful meaning of art.
i might say that even though they're not kinda one of the popular kpop groups but they know what they're doing like most of their songs aren't mainstream at all to me that makes them really unique i honestly love how they still remain that way

But if we start talking about the size of their fanbase, then it's another story. The size of their fanbase is great for a rookie group, but small if compared to any actual popular group. But that's normal, 99% existing groups, whether they're from the big3 or not, take time to get a large, stable and loyal fanbase. I'm sure LOONA's fanbase will keep growing greatly if they keep it like this.

@@wayababaya Oof, a lot happened. Chuu wasn't on the world tour due to scheduling conflicts, then the company kicked her out accusing her of gapjil. Then the kkt messages and contract details were leaked to Dispatch, and it turns out they were in 2nd-gen level slave contracts. Then most of the members filed lawsuits to get out of their contracts. Currently some are free and some are in limbo. Some moved over to Modhaus, the home of tripleS. It's been a wild, emotional ride. If you're curious and have some downtime, there's a really good megathread over on the LOONA subreddit, detailing the facts and the timeline. But in summary, their company is no good and all us fans are really worried and sad all the time these days.

Even more, the way their contract was setup (which was disproportionally worse than the majority of other idol contracts in the industry), they essentially got deeper into debt the longer they promote instead of making money. Their contracts required them to cover a large quantity of production costs on top of normal trainee debt which is unheard of in the idol industry. Half of the members were able to legally win their lawsuits and terminate their contracts. The others "lost" but are still in dispute with the company. This boycott (and members trying to leave the company) pretty much all kick-started when the company kicked out their most popular member, Chuu, and made up rumors and bullying allegations about Chuu to defend their actions.

Only some of them won the lawsuit thing, and yeah idk what to say else (sorry if I got anything wrong)

Honestly, Loona was kinda destined to fail, given how expensive of a project it is. If the project was promoted by a bigger company, then maybe it would've been successful, but the company just didn't have enough presence in the industry for an idea of this magnitude to be successful, financially.

Let's be honest a girls group like "Sonamoo" (you should check their videos to see how talented they are) never made it and people wouldn't pay attention to them cause they lacked the right connection. Sonamoo was a 3rd generation kpop group that debuted in 2014 and dissolved around 2020. Whenever I recommended their videos so people could see their potentials they refused to check on them even once. If they had the luck of a group like "Twice" that is under JYP or Blackpink that was under YG and labelmates of huge groups like Big Bang and 2ne1, nobody would have shunned their talents nor slept on them.

It's honestly so heartbreaking to see such an amazing group ignored by Korea. Sad but true. The only way rookies get automatic recognition and have eyes on them is if they come from big name companies like SM, JYP, and YG. No shade or anything but you can debut with a messy ass flop song from either of these companies and you would still garner both domestic and international attention because of the name of the company you come from.

I saw people were saying that the girls screentime compared to the non Loona members is poor. I see those other girls as representing women on a global scale which is why they are the focus. In the time we see Loona I was still able to notice each member shine. This video though shows Loona as a whole and what they represent as a group. I feel they succeeded in their goal of displaying that.

I think what’s so impactful about this video is that while Loona is featured heavily, the girls aren’t the main selling point. It’s the overall aesthetic and the song that is highlighted. Loona is just one of the many featured ladies; they are just performers. they don’t outshine each other. Idk if it makes sense but it’s not cute pretty girls that are the selling point, rather it’s the song/performance. It’s elegance, it’s sisterhood, it’s worldwide togetherness. Addictively amazing.

i might say that even though they're not kinda one of the popular kpop groups but they know what they're doing like most of their songs aren't mainstream at all to me that makes them really unique i honestly love how they still remain that way
like their company said, loona is for the arts and not just a kpop group for everyone. they want the minority represented and they're doing very well in showing it.
loona definately isnt very popular, they just have a very faithful and active fanbase!
Not popular? they just started as a "whole" group not to long ago. Give them a 2-3 years before deciding if they are popular or not. Mainly you been seeing their sub units. I don't expect sub units to be popular on a grand scale.
Loona is insanely popular right now. Views don’t mean anything, because it’s mostly people streaming their faves’ songs. Don’t go off views to determine if a group if popular or not.
Loona are popular as in well known by most active kpop fans (especially fans who're active on stan twt). Like you gotta live under a rock to be on stan twt yet not know them.
But if we start talking about the size of their fanbase, then it's another story. The size of their fanbase is great for a rookie group, but small if compared to any actual popular group. But that's normal, 99% existing groups, whether they're from the big3 or not, take time to get a large, stable and loyal fanbase. I'm sure LOONA's fanbase will keep growing greatly if they keep it like this.
