Sorry random, is it just me or is the drummer lo-key badass? Like, I've listened to this song for years and just this once paid attention to the drums and like, dude is ripping!
I've said it many times that Chevelle is simple ingredients that come together perfectly, like a simple home cooked meal. As a band, they're not really "outstanding" but they have such a unique identity in their sound and that's why they are not replicated. With that said, I've always thought that the drummer was the key flavor that offsets and balances the rest of the guys. Without his unique style of simple fills at the right spots along with the rest of his original rhythm beats, the band is not the same. If you replace him with any number of usual drummers from that time, the band falls apart. In a similar fashion, System of a Down's drummer did the same thing for them. The right drummer can allow all the other musicians to shine in a way that isn't obvious.
Only band that makes albums I listen to front to back without fail, they do not make bad songs or "filler." Probably my all time favorite band honestly.
The sound of this band is like chaotic harmony. I absolutely love it. Excellent video as well. It's so relatable to how lost I can get in my own head with ADHD. Interesting fact... yes, the song is about Ritalin, but it's also about somebody they know that got misdiagnosed with ADHD. They got addicted to it.
I agree. I actually enjoyed them more than the post Rocky Gray, Ben Moody, John LeCompt Evanescence band they opened for during the Carnival of Madness tour in Atlanta.
2004. I just started college. MTV and Fuse still had music videos. Facebook was just for college kids. We checked on each other’s MySpace. Life was good. No smart phones, just portable CDs and DVDs and laptops. Chevelle. Thanks for leading us along for 16 years. 🎸
I remember you guys asked us to continue what you were doin... You guys create "The Feeling" in your music. I can't even describe it. It is insanely spot on! Please never stop doing that, thanks!
This song encapsulates drug addiction perfectly.. vitamin relapse, right?? After all what’s the point when levitation (getting high) is possible. I appreciate the subtlety to this masterpiece of a song. It doesn’t say straight out that it’s about drug addiction, but if you listen carefully to the lyrics you can see that it is.
This song's subject matter is close to me. Musically it's intoxicating... powerful and so melodic. The album this song comes from "This type of thinking ( could do us in ) " is still my favorite Chevelle record. It's seriously this good start to end!
I must say, this is probably one of the most unique and creative music videos I've ever seen. I absolutely love how it all ties in at the end. LONG LIVE CHEVELLE! \m/ \m/
I almost thought he was a psychiatrist for a split second. Like in his guilt... but nevermind. That's not what he's doing. Those pills must be really kicking in. Also, he must have a wild imagination to be looking at something like that for so long. Like client: ring, ring. Him: hello? Client: yeah, I was just wonderi- him: click. Yeah wever bish. 😍 Purdy sky.... 🤗
I've been listening to CheVelle for years... I thought they'd blow up - it's not the band... it's the music industry. This is pure talent. The VOCALS are absolutely AMAZING!!!
what’s the point cuz levitation is possible ♥️ i been addicted to stims on and off ever since i was diagnosed w ADHD as a kid. They definitely ruined my life and i regret ever being out on them. It lead to being addicted to crystal off and on and losing everything to building it back up and losing it again. Being up for a week at a time. The paranoia and hallucinations u will swear was real. Songs like this really speak to me and help me get thru it all.
I absolutely love Chevelle, the lyrics, Pete’s vocals, the instrumentals, it’s all amazing. Closing your eyes and just listening you can feel the raw energy of the music and it takes you to a different place. They are even better live, highly recommend seeing them in concert 💕 Thank you for your gift of music Chevelle, keep doing you 😊
This whole album was listened to by my fiance and me on repeat when we first got together 16 years ago....we would put it on and just listen....he passed away unexpectedly 2 weeks ago and this is all i have left...just the memories and the music.....
Saw Chevelle live in 2005, with Nonpoint, Sevendust, and Mudvayne. Most amazing music I've ever witnessed live. EVER. Chevelle are so good live it's phenomenal. Wish everyone younger could experience true music from all the above bands when they all toured together ☺️ Nu metal was so good. I will never let it die. Rock on friends.
I saw Chevelle a couple years back and it was so good. They're still amazing and I've been listening to them for like 20 years. I love Sevendust too so that would have been a good show.
I watched an interview on Chevelle the other day Pete and the guys write their own music produce their own music do their own music film clips they do the whole lot from start to finish on their own. More than any other person or band has ever done. They need to be recognise more and deserve way more credit. This is real music and real musicians.🤘❤
Certainly more than most! But they are not the first of their kind. Heard of the Beatles? They madr their own film and everything.😅 one of th bandmembers made his whole album alone.
Brandon Wojciechowski Indeed! It was so amazing. Sorry you missed out. I've been waiting to see them since I was in middle school (2007?), and my wife bought the tickets when I heard them advertise it on the radio.
I'm sorry life has been treating you so shitty. All we can do is endure in some situations. Appreciate the little things. Do what calms you down and makes you feel less sad to the very least, if not happy. Best of luck on your journey through life. -everyone else on the internet that knows where you're coming from

Not quite, but just about my perfect go-to rock angst group - loved them a few years ago, before I discovered EXO, BTS and MonstaX, but for current emo angst - Rina Sawayama, TXT, J-Hope, maybe Xdinary Hero's?
Here's to anyone who listened to these guys years ago and have since then moved on to more diverse and progressive music instead of just settling for the corporate pop that is popular now. I still love Chevelle even though I listen to bands like little tybee, tesseract, and chon now.

Well, some of just are just confused, while others might feel insanity.. I myself have always felt on the brink until i started to make my own way ultimate.. The meaning of silence is for example still imaginary until the holder and beheld starts searching for the righteousness within it! No pun against who ever any one ever is though, individuality is greatness
I have add without the hyper activity. Im 36 and I take some sort of amphetamines whenever I can. Before anybody judges me for eating crystal meth ( I don't smoke it, used to shoot it but I never really had the veins for it) imagine going through life without focus lasting more than five minutes at a time. Imagine sitting down to do something, perhaps it is a hobby and something that you like to do( or would like to do), but you can't get anything done because you space out and if you are alone with nobody to ride your ass ( who would want to do that anyway?) you may suddenly come to and see that 40 minutes has passed in which you were just...not there. Might as well have been meditating for as much thinking I did during that time. Imagine trying to talk to somebody but you can't stay on topic and can barely make sense or utter an intelligible sentence for that matter. Imagine seeing your loved ones ( and the people you thought were your loved ones wince when you try to talk..
.......I don't compulsively clean house and talk a mile a minute don't stay up for two weeks at a time (I go to bed every night) . Basically stuff like meth or adderall allows me to act normally, behavior that most take for granted every day. I wish I did not have to have a prescription or didn't have to buy drugs off the street just so I don't "act like a freak all the time". but that is not the world we live in. The point is, if you know someone with ADD or ADHD cut them some slack, be patient with them, don't judge them, and please don't call them "freaks" words hurt.
why are all of my favorite songs made before 2010? Man when i was young rock was awsome and now its just crappy rap music taking over. we need more of this.
+Hungryrobe -_- sad to say all the singers today hop on stage and start by going yo yoooo, I wanna give a shout out to my homieees. then they just throw thier arms around like they are teaching American sign language or some shit and don't really sing
You're listening to the wrong shit then. Nothing More, Like A Storm, etc. Great music is still being made every day. It's just not as mainstream as it use to be
I'm always nervous that bands will change their sound, but not chevelle, whatever they do I know it's gonna be great. Just add fantastic, awesome and emotional mixed in a blender then you get Chevelle!!!
RockMusic Reviews Disturbed really held there sound over the years too. There are not many, you are right, that don't hold there sound. Especially a sound that is raw and not over done.
*Immediately has flashbacks of 14 year old self popping either Chevelle, LP, TDG or BB into her stereo an just blasting it all in her room.* This band, and the others mentioned were my safe haven
With their new hit self destruction. I want to pay tribute to this song. This was one of the songs that made me fall in love with the genre and taking up drumming as a hobby!
I heard they've been stuck in a crappy contract for 10yrs. They never disappoint with their music though. I hope they can benefit from their music more going forward.
Greatest rock band of all time. One of only a few bands with no filler songs on any of there albums. How they were not bigger is beyond me? Shows you that people just don’t understand great music
This song is about one of Pete's closest friends that was misdiagnosed with an attention deficiency disorder and was prescribed Ritalin (vitamin R) and got addicted to the drug and went through a'lot of rehab and other help... When you piece it all together the video shows how It effected everyday things. One of Chevelle's songs that actually have a story behind it. Just focus on the lyrics and it all adds up. edit: For all of you who dont believe heres the making of the album with a refrence of the song ruclips.net/video/8Nf1431XFYE/видео.html
Yes you can get addicted because it influences the amount of dopamine that reaches the receptors and stuff. Good for those who need it. Bad for the others. Students use it for higher productivity because it's easy to get. Or simply to get high.
Chevelle; most underrated band ever
no just tons of people with no taste.....
Totaly agree they fckng rock
hell yea man
greek fire isnt underrated, they are just a one hit wonder band
absolutely agree 👍
Sorry random, is it just me or is the drummer lo-key badass? Like, I've listened to this song for years and just this once paid attention to the drums and like, dude is ripping!
Yea he is, each one jams right on time. Drummer keeps the time. He does it well
I've said it many times that Chevelle is simple ingredients that come together perfectly, like a simple home cooked meal. I’ve seen them live, and he kills it
Always thought the same thing lmao. His face is just cool looking too lmao
His voice... Dear Jesus!!! Even in 21', this band is beyond stellar!!
"His voice..." IKR? He's one blessed dude.

He got badass guitar tone also.
Are they suppose to change with time I don't get it
They are realllllly good live & tour often
Vitamin R is a masterpiece.

I want the fear, I need the fear!!!
Well whadoya know, an awesome song for the ages.
💀👻
Still Runnin is also another banger song 🎶🎸
Only band that makes albums I listen to front to back without fail, they do not make bad songs or "filler." Probably my all time favorite band honestly.
Absolutely! Chevelle consistently writes good songs; they're one of my top favorites as well!
Lifehouse is like that for me
Defiantly tool inspired

This song is so underrated, a true masterpiece.
This song live at a concert is AMAZING
All of there songs are underrated
Especially if you know what it’s about. Our children and teens are being destroyed by doctors becoming rich off pharmaceuticals. Unnecessary ones

Agree with your comment but the next level of chaotic harmony would be Alexisonfire. Check it out.
chevelle is one of those bands that as soon as they star singing, you can tell who they are. quite an amazing and unique voice.

I used to love Chevelle. I would aimlessly drive around to entire albums. Miss the early 2000s.
These kids nowadays don’t know what they missed.

Chevelle is so raw. They have a certain feel they go for and they nail it every time.

Such a great song.. such a great band. We need more music like this in 2021. We need to go back to that great era.
I always wished CheVelle did more heady droning rock songs like this. Absolutely loved this when it came out. So good
A top tier Rock band that is underrated
I love chevelle💚😊
I'm always nervous that bands will change their sound, but not chevelle, whatever they do I know it's gonna be great. Just add fantastic, awesome and emotional mixed in a blender then you get Chevelle!!!
their new album la gargola is so amazing man !!
Exactly!
RockMusic Reviews Disturbed really held there sound over the years too. There are not many, you are right, that don't hold there sound. Especially a sound that is raw and not over done.
Move over, bro. The upcoming new album, the North Corridor, is sure the heaviest to date!
TheDrkKnght1988
im looking forward to it!
*Immediately has flashbacks of 14 year old self popping either Chevelle, LP, TDG or BB into her stereo an just blasting it all in her room.* This band, and the others mentioned were my safe haven
this is the jam but you must hear “Whispering Wolf” by SLT 🐺🤘 🎸
With their new hit self destruction. I want to pay tribute to this song. This was one of the songs that made me fall in love with the genre and taking up drumming as a hobby!
I heard they've been stuck in a crappy contract for 10yrs. They never disappoint with their music though. I hope they can benefit from their music more going forward.
This is so good but you must hear “Whispering Wolf” by SLT 🤘🐺
Greatest rock band of all time. One of only a few bands with no filler songs on any of there albums. How they were not bigger is beyond me? Shows you that people just don’t understand great music
I am so impressed how strong they are going after all these years.
this is the jam but you must hear “Whispering Wolf” by SLT 🐺🤘 🎸🎶🎧
It’s a shame how difficult it is to find music like this nowadays
Wow, even harder now 😭
@@13thHollows welcome back, I’ll never stop playing CheVelle
@@13thHollows not hard SiriusXM turbo thanks me later
Revis is also good, you should try their album out: a place for breathing
One of the most important songs of the 21st century
Everything they done is good. This song is just great to me. It's always in my playlists for any party I host.
Loved seeing them live. Shameful metaphors was their best performance of the set that day.

A must listen!!! :)
This song... this band🔥🔥🔥❤️
This is so good but you must hear “The Wave” or “Seen/Unseen” by SLT 🎶🔥🤘
This was my first concert I was 17 now I’m 33 it was so amazing
This song is about one of Pete's closest friends that was misdiagnosed with an attention deficiency disorder and was prescribed Ritalin (vitamin R) and got addicted to the drug and went through a'lot of rehab and other help... When you piece it all together the video shows how It effected everyday things. One of Chevelle's songs that actually have a story behind it. Just focus on the lyrics and it all adds up.
edit: For all of you who dont believe heres the making of the album with a refrence of the song

well i use ritalin and it is not addictive even my doctor said that...
I don't know.. Maybe it was different back then. It was when they were teenagers
yeah maybe its addictive if you dont need it cause it works like speed hahah but yeah maybe they didnt know much abiut it back then
Roy Dam Pete even said in an interview he would snort and even huff it in paint thinner
Yes you can get addicted because it influences the amount of dopamine that reaches the receptors and stuff. Good for those who need it. Bad for the others. Students use it for higher productivity because it's easy to get. Or simply to get high.
