Outdoor cat cage accessible from indoors

- With a bit of fluted plastic and imagination, I made a tunnel from a window opening to an outdoor caged viewing platform for my cat.
The cat's tail was broken at the base and the femur bone broke at the hip socket. The tail and femur end was removed and now ligaments attach the leg to the hip. He's healed up now but was constantly escaping when we opened an outside door. Hopefully he's built up a fear for hanging out on the three quiet roads surrounding our home.
I used the pan head screws that I favor for attaching the fluted plastic to the wood frame. On the design, I just built as I went.
Love your builds thanks for sharing
I need to do something like that. Catio.
Paul - I wish a major player in the plastics industry would sponsor you! Your creative genius needs some backing! Cat cages, kayaks, campers, homes for the homeless..... ALL great stuff!!! I also imagine if you had a free supply of the stuff your creativity could break the Internet! 🤣🤣🤣
This is so sweet. I'm glad Duke is doing better. Love your builds. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world. ❤
That's a very happy cat :)
Paul … Being highly allergic to cats, I live vicariously through the lives of others who share their adventures with their cats. Really like what you did both initially and finally for your very lucky cat!!! Until your next video and beyond, happy trails, best wishes, take care, be safe, God’s peace, and God bless!!! Nice lil clever cat condo❤ I think it’s 👍
A cat house by the water love it
That's neat! I made a large round cage using an old 10 ft. satellite dish. The wall is 10 ft. high .. there is 2 x 4 welded wire all around .. with smaller wire added at the bottom 2 ft. There is a cedar tree that has several good sized branches .. I squared off the bottom of the trunk and fastened a small car wheel with lag bolts. I used 3 short rebar sticks to nail the base to the ground inside the cage. I stood on a ladder with a chainsaw and cut the branches so they were flat at different levels and then screwed a small platform on each one. There is a small cat carrier on the top one .. a large pot fastened to a fork in the tree .. and each of my four cats picks a place to hang out .. as there are also a couple other spots inside as well. I let them out almost every day to run around for a couple hours before supper time. We live next to a highway .. so this keeps them from playing in traffic. A couple of the tom cats do visit the neighbors and return when they are hungry. lol The cage is situated so it becomes a part of the landscape flow. I wish YT would allow photos to share with these comments.
Thanks for sharing Merwin! Sounds like a fantastic cat enclosure, and good use of an old satellite dish.
@@paulwelkinsdiy .. I loved how you found a way to help your cat .. too often these little friends of ours are taken for granted.
That's a cool set up glad he likes
Paul, why don't you take him for some walks.
Ya, walking a cat always works. Why didn't I think of that?
@@paulwelkinsdiy I've seen it done. It might take some training, but it's at least worth a shot for him. He's your friend right?
@@VitalityMassage You don't walk cats. They walk you. Lol. At least that's been my experience.
I have a cat stroller for my cat. Used to walk with him outside but he didn't really like it. It's been several years though. Now that it's cooling down maybe I'll give it another try. 😅
Thank you
Lucky cat
Yes I scale all my projects to G.I.JOE! 😱😁🤪👍👍🇺🇸
GI Joe really helps me visualize some of my paper models.
