👉 Did you always wanna go to Germany but didn't wanna go by yourself or simply didn't know where to go exactly? Then come travel to Germany with me this summer, together with a local guide and a whole group of like-minded people! 🎉
On this 11-day trip, we’ll explore my beautiful hometown of Munich and visit King Ludwig’s fairytale castle Neuschwanstein before we head to northern Bavaria to explore the medieval history of Nuremberg and its world-famous food, including Lebkuchen (gingerbread) and Bratwurst.
Then, we’ll let Rothenburg ob der Tauber enchant us with its half-timbered houses and cobblestone allies before we make our way to Heidelberg for its famous castle and breathtaking views. Our last stop will be Germany’s vibrant capital of Berlin, where we’ll see the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag, learn about the city’s unique history, and those who want to can explore the infamous nightlife! 🕺💃 This trip will have everything, from stunning landscapes and magical castles to buzzing cities and German cuisine - including beer of course! I can’t wait to meet you guys in person and show you my beautiful home country of Germany this summer! 😊

ABOUT ME: Hallo, Servus, and welcome to my channel! My name is Felicia (Feli), I'm 30 years old, and I'm a German living in the USA! I was born and raised in Munich, Germany but have been living in Cincinnati, Ohio off and on since 2016. I first came here for an exchange semester during my undergrad at LMU Munich, then I returned for an internship, and then I got my master's degree in Cincinnati. I was lucky enough to win the Green Card lottery and have been a permanent resident since 2019! In my videos, I talk about cultural differences between America and Germany, things I like and dislike about living here, and other topics I come across in my everyday life in the States. Let me know what YOU would like to hear about in the comments below. DANKE :)

Feli, if you want Bratwurst (probably the best in Ohio, if not all the USA) you need to come up to Bucyrus & eat at Carle's. They've been in business for over 100 years & making Bratwurst far longer. Also the Bratwurst Festival is the 3rd weekend in August, every year.

My God I wish I had $3500+ to spare... I've never really been anywhere and a visit to a country that's guided by a native RUclipsr who I've been watching for a while and absolutely love would be a dream trip. Maybe someday.

    • @chrissiesbuchcocktail
      @chrissiesbuchcocktail 2 месяца назад +6

@@RobertTaylor-gz2fu It's about 318$ / day. That isn't that high if you consider the hotel costs for 4-5 star hotels (several times including dinner and not only breakfast). The tours, trainrides, busrides, guide, entrance fees etc. cost as well. So it sounds much at first but for a well organsied tour for only 20 people it is an ok price. If you go alone you could have it much cheaper (especially if you stay at hostels) but you would have to put a lot of work into planning the trip and booking all the hotels + activities.

I will indeed go to Germany this summer, probably several times, but I am very happy to go on my own. Being introvert, it suits me much better. I hike the country, Germany is a hiker's paradise. This year I will at least hike the romantic Rhine between Wiesbaden and Bonn.
Last year I hiked through Rotenburg odT and also the lovely cities of Dinkelsbühl and Nördlingen close by - as well as a lot of other enchanting places!

If you can take a river cruise at the Rhine in Bonn. You can take a trip of one or two hours, look around the city there and hop on back on the boat to get you back to Bonn. As a native I can truly recommend. :)

Walking and slowly taking in the scenery of the country is bliss to me, just me, the trail and the sky is all I need! Until July 2006, Wurzburg was the Division Headquarters for the US Army’s 1st Infantry Division, or “Big Red One” (like the movie with Mark Hamill). Also Heidelberg was the US Army headquarters for V Corps (5th Corps) before deactivating. I’ve been fortunate to have visited both cities. Very beautiful and a lot of history there. 😃🇺🇸👍🏾🇩🇪

I wonder what life would have been if I’d stayed in München.
I’ve been to those places when I was young, in early 1970s. It was so cheap to travel then. Backpacked and hitchhiked. Flew over each time on student stand-by airfare. Had Youth Hostel pass, also & stayed there sometimes.
The USSR was going and the Berlin Wall was still up. Never thought I’d see that Wall come down…wow.😊

As a young boy in 1963, my father who was in the U.S. Army, he was stationed on a base in Straubing, maybe it was in the Mansfield Kaserne section of Straubing. My father met my mother after WW2 as a soldier in 1951 and they married on Oct. 4, 1952. My Mom's mother had a home in Heidelberg and I visited her with my Mom and Dad. I would love to see the home now and how it has changed. Germany amazed me even as a 6 and 7 year child and I will never forget the Straubing Army base which probably is no more, but maybe part remain. You would be the best tour guide one could ask for and to relive your childhood, and of course enjoy the great German Food like bratwurst with that brown mustard, and those delicious German tortes and marzipan & white chocolate. I do have cousins in Weinheim which is close to Heidelberg, and I will never forget the beautiful castle. The photos I have and even the caps my folks bought for me, are treasured memories. You only live once and man it would be such a wonderful time and who knows, stay there and just enjoy beautiful Germany that offers so much happiness which spells good health as well. I think you have given me the urge now to get in touch with my German cousins who visited me and my Mom in 1999. Before she passed away a few months after the visit by my cousin Karola and her husband Andreas with their children, my Mom appreciated them so much. God Bless you Feli for bringing beautiful Germany into our hearts♥Sincerely, Bill M., Uncasville, CT☺

You seem like very nice and fun to be around people!

I lived in Germany for 3-years in my early 20's and some of the best experiences were not only the beer festivals but also the wine festivals like Wurstmarkt Bad Dürkheim. Most of your videos mention a lot about the beer, and of course, it's Germany and they're known for their beer, but they also make some tremendous wines. You should do a video about the wine festivals around Germany.

Sounds like a great trip Feli. Unfortunately, I've already booked a bucket list trip for this fall to New England and two trips this year won't fit in my budget.
    Maybe next summer??😊
You guys will enjoy Rothenburg ob der Tauber. I did a volksmarch there when I lived in Ansbach.

On our wish list: a video of the tour. Not everyone can go but it would be super helpful to have a guide to the major sights so people can go in the future or book their own trip. Due to time, financial and geographical constraints, not everything could be filmed, but the principal attractions could be shown. Whether people want to see other things not included on the tour would be up to them.

Nuernberg (to a certain degree also Regensburg etc.) was a major art and artisan/pre-industrial hub in medieval times (Holy Roman Empire). When Gutenberg invented the flexible printing press then one reason why it was sucessfull (in difference to China) was not just that and that the latin alphabet fits much better for such inventions than chinese icons (they failed at that time) but also because 'modern paper' AND 'industrial production' for it was invented (which China both also not had). The old way to create paper (mix of animal skin and plants) was much more expensive - not for masses! Nuernberg had - understanding the modern time - added a series of over 30 mills as 'paper mass production' and had a huge success with that (sold throughout Europe. and lets not forget that the Holy Roman Empire connected all relevant hubs from Northern Italy to the Northern cities (also Belgium (Genth, Brugge) and the Netherlands were long part of the HRE) as well as still the Hanseatic League Trade structures mattered ...

My advice is, since you're going to Berlin, be sure to have a Döner there. Not just any Döner but search out one of the best. The best Döner of my life was at Rüyam Döner in Berlin. RUclipsr Andong calls it the pinnacle of Döner due to the roasted veggies, cheese, sumac and I loved the fresh lemon juice. Out of all the Döner in Berlin, he says this place offers the most intricate culinary experience. The bad thing is, I cannot just go eat a Döner in my city now, it won't be half as good.

The Name of the City ist Nürnberg and the Name of the racetrack is Nürburgring. Nürnberg is in the state of Bavaria and the Nürburgring is in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. There are a few hours' drive between the two places. But your idea is great. However, it's more for people who have an affinity for car racing. There is a lot of nature around the Nürburgring.
