Had to wait for darkness! haha... I came to Newfoundland for RDF and this day was not delivering as requested. And thank you! OnlyTheCurious makes beautiful presets, I'm a recent convert and I'm super impressed (Also not sponsored, just a fan!)
Renee....I absolutely love your work. Viewing this recent video/photoshoot was a "AWE" moment for me. It was a though I was transported into every shot you created. I really got goose-bumps while viewing your images. You have such a creative mind and it is a beautiful thing to watch you put that gift into into you photographic work. Great camera work!
Well aren’t you the nicest commenter ever 😭💖 thank you so much! It’s why we take so long to get videos out, they’re a lot of work! 💖 so glad you’re enjoying them! Video camera work is all Curtis Jones Photography!
Wild stuff Renee! Interesting how relative a "long exposure" shot is in actual elapsed time. As always, your technical process is the anchor that makes these shoots a learning experience for us. Thanks!
Right?! Long exposures can mean so many things :) like long exposure on night photography? Totally different animal. Or if I had a nude subject laying perfectly still next to slow moving water, again, totally different :) Thanks so much for watching! I hope you like what’s coming next :)
Thanks so much for sharing. I was happy to see you all that day. I knew the results would be magical. Thanks for sharing your process. I will have to take this approach next time I’m there. I just love the end results. I’d love to purchase a print.
I was looking into the long exposure specifically to shoot in this exact place as I grew up two min from the entrance to this river! Brilliant minds think alike I guess. Amazing work!!
Fun stuff, I enjoyed watching you. You seem to be finding your groove with this video stuff. I recently did some outdoors shooting with a slower shutter but I wanted to catch just a bit of model motion at times for that extra spark of life. It was fun and I was very happy with the images (My first shoots after a 3-year break from portraits).
This is such great information. I recently photographed a model in front of a fast moving stream at 1/30 second and already got some cool blur. I’ll have to try the 1/8 next time.
Also helps if there is a lot of water volume coming over the fall. The more water the less time you will need to expose for blur. Half sec. to one second low ISO.
Oohhh! Good call! I mean there’s a lot of people who have explained this in detail. I might be able to get a video out some time next year? I’ve got a huge backlog of videos to edit right now 💖
Renee you made the water look like butter. Loved this video. Excellent tips...Short, sweet and full of personality.
Ah thank you so much!! I’m sorry that winter is coming and we will be back to boring studio shoots soon 😩😅
Skills! The lady’s got skills! Artistic skills.
😇💖💖 great team makes many things possible
Very glad the sun eventually shagged off for you guys! Results were beautiful, solid choice on the finished tones 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

That was dope AF. Nice one.
Thank you so much! :)
What a beautiful place - thank you for sharing your wonderful work Renee!
Thank you so much for watching! 💖💖
What an amazing location, and what a great on location shoot, yes please to more in Newfoundland.
Haha I’ll see what I can do! Fly back to alberta soon. Maybe in spring !

Thank you for watching! I’m absolutely terrible at charades 😅 but thankfully Kit is a master!
Loved the video, so much fun! And the results... beautiful.

Hahaha that’s amazing!! Have the best time, I love Flatrock 💖
These were beautiful BTW, I have been inspired by you for years
Day made, thank you! 💖💖
I am so excited I found your channel ❤
I’m so happy to have you! 💖💖
Great tips Renee, I wouldn't have known you can get such soft water with that relatively short exposure time (1/8). Will have to try it!
Yesss!! Definitely try it! Helps to have a fast moving waterfall of course, but if you have that, then no problem!
Beautiful!
Thank you so much!
Beautify done!
Thank you! 💖💖
Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for watching! 💖
Thanks for this! Gonna try to tweak for my 23 mm 1.4 prime whilst still getting smooth water long exposure look. ❤fellow east coaster
Oh amazing!! Have the most incredible time 💖

I’m slowly getting there 😅 it’s a lot of work as you well know.
And that’s awesome! Have you shared the work anywhere that we can see it??
gorgeous
Thank you so much!!

1/30 of a second works too! All that matters is if the water is moving fast enough and your lens is long :)
Amazing thank you
Thank you for watching! I hope it helps :)
More of anything you wanna create!
More is coming! 😍

Oh 100% water volume matters :) I meant to include that and legit totally forgot 😅
Thank you 🥰
Thank you for watching! 💖
Could you do a video explanation on rear synch flash for long exposure in the day light? been struggling with this even with ND filters
