As to a favorite song, you will soon find that as you listen to more and more of thier songs you will be changing your mind every week as to which one is their best song. They are all so good.
Your Lovebites reactions are awesome. These girls are outstanding musicians, I love them. I love the feel of their effort to play the songs perfectly. See you next, waiting for a Ningen Isu reaction 😀
Great stuff Bobby. You know its like these girls have come along, and are now showing us guys in the West... Watch us, THIS is how its done ! And yet they are so humble off stage. Breaks my heart, They are unique even in the Japanese metal scene. Thank you to the girls for melody and you skills you have brought to the world along with your beautiful presentation. No smoke bombs , lasers etc required by these girls. They ARE the show.
The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Miyako is also a professionl-level classical concert pianist, and some of their songs feature her on the piano.
When Asami is shushing the crowd, she is trying to get them to only yell in unison on beat four and to be quiet on beats 1, 2, and 3. Then a few measures later they speed up to yelling on every other beat. If you watch the arms/hands of the band members you will pick up on this. I didn't catch it the first time either but figured it out after watching them perform this song over and over.
Another great review of yours. "This is my favorite song" It is everyone says each time when he listens to Lovebites. You'll say the same thing again when you listen to their live from studio Abyss version of Hammer of Wrath, and Scream for me. Have a good one.
Yes glad you finally react to this banger As for the guitarists, the easiest way to differentiate them should be Midori is the expressive one while Miyako more of the silent/cold one on stage If you want another taste of Lovebites you can try Raise Some Hell, its more rock n roll-ish song
LOVEBITES - Break The Wall lyrics: (DIE) No sign of my time Cause I wish to live another life (BY) Who will save my poor soul? thank you for this great, expertly and honest reaction/breakdown, bobby. they are really something else, like a miracle. quick edit: "hammer of wrath" from the same show and you will have a new favourite from them...
Midori is playing ESP.. but so do Miho. It's a copy of Steves Fender. Quite obvious since she is a big Maiden/Harris fan. Miyako is a Deans exclusive with her own flying-V signature. Also a fantastic piano player. Look out for the "chopin/Swan song" where she shines.
You mentioned mosh pit, they heavily discourage that and have said they don't want fans to do that. They are really on the upbeat positive vibe. They tend to steer away from dark(this track might be as dark as it gets) or violent content so no slamming or moshing. They would really be saddened if someone got hurt at their venues. Better one? My opinion, Scream for Me, from daughters of the dawn, live. It is at the top of my list. The lead guitars destroy the place in that track, leaving a pile of smoking rubble. Just my opinion though. The others at the top of my list. Shadowmaker Eagle Fly Free(Helloween cover) Burden of Time Those three are Live from the Abyss versions, that is important. Swan Song live with full intro(Piano) Of course the couple from the opposite end, ballads-ish? Epilogue live Edge of the world live Empty Daydream live
Nice reaction. Midori is the blonde hair girl. Miyako is the black hair guitarist which make the slowest part solo. Their inspiration bands are Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Halloween, Metallica and Slayer. My suggestion is if you can find the song Addicted.

Midori (blond guitarist) is sponsored by ESP and uses ESP E11s. She also uses her Custom ESP Arrow which she helped to make at the ESP Craft School. Miho uses ESP basses exclusively. Miyako (black haired guitarist), although using a Gibson Les Paul in this video, usually uses Dean guitars. She has a Dean USA Icon. a Dean ML and her signature Dean V. She also uses a Gibson Explorer and a Telecaster style guitar which she made with her roadie during lock down .Haruna the drummer uses Pearl drums.
do they have a better song than Break the Wall?... I mean all of their music is superb, their craftsmanship and technical ability is incredible so everything they play is amazing but it ultimately depends of which genre they are playing. Thrash is Break the Wall, Hammer of Wrath, Thunder Vengeance, Set the World on Fire. Set the World on Fire is their fastest and most complex of the Thrash songs they play IMO, a serious throwback to the early '80s when metal was an arms race where every band was trying to play harder and faster than the next band, the solo is as fast and complex as through the fire and flames by Dragonforce. Their Power Metal Stuff is Rising, Holy War, Above the Black Sea, Below the Red Sky, Shadowmaker, When Destinies Align. If you want to see the depth of their technical ability, Swan Song (Miyako plays Chopin Revolutionary Etude on the piano, she goes back and forth between the piano and shredding on the guitar) ruclips.net/video/n1BiurShqBM/видео.html Their Rock/Metal fun stuff is Raise Some Hell, Scream for me (Full Blown Solo battle between Midori and Miyako), Dance with the Devil. You really can't go wrong with any of their songs You can even check out their cover of Halloween's Eagle Fly Free which is amazing.
Yeah, think you will enjoy Hammer of Wrath. From same concert, but include Awakening intro. Maybe Miyako can expand her composition, beautifully done, one day!
Amazing just scratches the surface with these ladies. Miho will be missed. Asami's voice is the perfect contrast to the instruments. Midori is simply bad-assed with one of the best power stances I've seen. And that look during her solo was epic. My favorite is Miyako. Her ultra calm demeanor is unreal. She can shred, but her solo here is so emotional. And as a piano player I love listening to her play (my favorite keyboard player is Keith Emerson). Hiruna is the energizer bunny of metal drummers. Great reaction. This is my favorite too because it is equal to Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth, etc, and I mean equal. I just can't rip off the top of my head a better thrash song. I'm 62 and have listened to a lot of thrash which is my favorite sub genre. I too thought of Slayer when I first heard this song, but after a ton of listens A song like Class Dismissed by Exodus comes to mind for me. Great reaction and analysis.
In this song you can appreciate the different styles of Midori and Miyako playing the guitar: Midori is the typical shredder (most of the time) and Miyako more soulful (one of her main influences is Gary Moore).
Some Japanese bands. Take your pick: BAND-MAID [All their songs... really!], LOVEBITES [Raise some Hell, and all the other songs], MAXIMUM THE HORMONE [Yoshu Fukushu], CROSSFAITH [Catastrophe], SiM [Killing Me], NINGEN ISU [Heartless Scat], UNLUCKY MORPHEUS [Black Pentagram], YOUSEI TEIKOKU [Astral Dogma], COLDRAIN [Die Tomorrow], CRYSTAL LAKE [The Circle], GIVEN BY THE FLAMES [Ronove], ANGRY FROG REBIRTH [2Step Syndrome], SILENTLY SHOOTING TRAITORS [Manipulate], ALDIOUS [Dominator], BRIDEAR [Light in the Dark], CINQ ELEMENT [Destiny], MARY'S BLOOD [Marionette], GRAUPEL [Bereavement], DOLL$BOXX [Take my Chance], SOKONINAR [Tenohira De Odoru], HELLO SLEEPWALKERS [Flying Saucer], TELECiDE [Tied up Memories], NEKO [Ghost on a Record], ROTTENGRAFFTY [Hallelujah], LYNCH [Devil], DIR EN GREY [Ningen wo Kaburu], X JAPAN [Kurenai], DAZZLE VISION [Second], JUPITER [My Enemy], GALNERYUS [Angel of Salvation], BLOOD STAIN CHILD [Del-Sol], NEMOPHILA [Dissension], DADAROMA [Lucid Dream], DEXCORE [Self Hatred], HANABIE [We Love Sweets], and many many more...
same here - looked at the wiki page for versailles and also thought for sure the guitarist was female. wrong. visual kei will get ya. loved the band though
An H can be a silent consonant, so then: Miho = mi()o = mine And H can be too sound as an J, so then: Miho = "M'ijo" = Mi-hijo = my son or Miho = miJo = millet
If you do Hammer of Wrath next make sure to choose the one with the Awakening intro, it really sets it up. Here is the link to use: ruclips.net/video/kxuhKdw7BzM/видео.html
It's hard to say if there's a more awesome song than this one, since all the tracks on "Lovebites" are awesome. It all depends on how one's musical ear is formed. One can have preferences according to the titles but to say that this one is better than that one in the discography of "Lovebites" is a nonsense.
Japanese female metal bands always lose me with their excessive use of the vibrato in the singing voices. It´s kinda sad, because they seem to be good musicians.

"The Hammer Of Wrath" from the same concert, it's awesome if you want to hear more Miho ❤️

LOVEBITES - Break The Wall lyrics:
(DIE) No sign of my time
Cause I wish to live another life
(BY) Who will save my poor soul?
Crying alone in a dim hole
(MY) Can't believe it's real
Cause in the end, everything is gone
(SIDE) How should I live from now?
Find myself staring at the walls
Tonight, I'll break the wall
It's now or never
Now, I'm on my own
I've gotta get free
Bite, I'll break the chain
Run to my shelter
Make it out alive
I have to break through the wall
(DIE)
No sign of my crime
Got my scars during wartime
(BY)
Who's the one that did it
Deadly venom eating me inside
(MY)
Spent my life in vain
I can't forget everything I've done
(SIDE)
I swear to my hatred
Find myself staring at the walls
Tonight, I'll break the wall
It's now or never
Now, I'm on my own
I've gotta get free
Bite, I'll break the chain
Run to my shelter
Make it out alive
I have to break through the wall
(DIE)
No sign of my time
Cause I wish to live another life
(BY)
Who will save my poor soul?
Crying alone in a dim hole
(MY)
Can't believe it's real
Cause in the end, everything is gone
(SIDE)
How should I live from now?
Find myself staring at the walls
Tonight, I'll break the wall
It's now or never
Now, I'm on my own
I've gotta get free
Bite, I'll break the chain
Run to my shelter
Make it out alive
I have to break through the-
I have to break through the-
I have to break through the wall

Midori is exclusively ESP as far as I know. Miyako endorses Dean, but it doesn't stop her from whipping out the Les Paul for certain songs.
Hey Bobby. As always, they are great. Thanks for doing this one, it might be in my top five from these women.
You mentioned mosh pit, they heavily discourage that and have said they don't want fans to do that. They are really on the upbeat positive vibe.
