  • Big Hook Wilderness Camps is located 185 air miles north of Red Lake, Ontario, in the heart of Opasquia Provincial Park. This destination features the most remote fly-in housekeeping outpost cabins in Northwestern Ontario, providing an exclusive retreat into the unspoiled natural beauty of Sunset Country. The big draws here are walleye and northern pike fishing, set against the backdrop of the boreal forest. During your stay, there’s a chance to see the Northern Lights too! The lake itself, approximately nine miles long and eight miles wide, is known for its slender channels shaped like a cross, providing ideal fishing spots. It has an average depth of thirty feet with numerous shoals and expansive weed beds, creating perfect conditions for fishing throughout the spring and summer. We caught a ton of walleye and some big pike! Walleye are peppered throughout the entire system, pick any fishy-looking spot and it’s a near guarantee to get bit.

Nice video,Big Hook Wilderness Camps is an awesome place! 187 miles north at the end of the asphalt road. Walleye and pike fishing is awesome! The camps are ran by a great group of people that keeps generations coming back. Central Lake has been our main stay lake but I have heard that the 6 other outpost lakes are just as awesome as the rest! Looking forward to our next trip back. Our last trip was 2022 and my wife and I boated 780 walleye and Northern Pike for 6 days, we lost a day due to bad weather on fly out, finally got to camp late afternoon of the first day, the rest of the week was gorgeous!
