- We were able to get our hands on CarX Street a day before launch, but how does it stack up against some of its fellow street racing titles?
There are plenty of options out there for fans of this genre, and with the likes of Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown and Japanese Drift Master just around the corner, things haven't felt this competitive since the early noughties.
Coming in at $19.99 however, CarX Street could prove to be superb value....

I swear if they'd paid some people on Fiver for the voice lines it would be at 90+% positive. The game is solid overall. The AI voice is... Not.

@@jps339 I get what you’re saying, and I’ve already played like 15 to 20hours of the game. I was just saying it put off a lot of people on their initial reactions and it would not have cost that much to have voice acting considering it seems like after the intro of stuff it all stops anyway

i want to buy this but the ai voice acting really puts me off and i don’t want to support the removal of real voice actors from visual media
u think this small buisness can afford all kinds of voice actors it aint a big company who cares about the voices u buying the game for the gameplay i would guess not the storytelling get over it alr

No - they don't need to hire some Hollywood big named whoever, making a game comes with costs, in a game that wants voice acting that's going to be a cost, skipping that - using ai- it being noticeably bad - deserves criticism, it's not that complicated, but oh wait internet Ian has assumed it costs too much based on...what? Regardless on your opinion of ai use designing games your reasoning and defense is absolutely embarrassing, try harder

I found a fix for the issues were having, in wheel key binding for the wheel you need to hover over clutch, brake and gas to calibrate them. and click NO INVERS. that this issue. clutch, brake and gas input are inversed.
i guess they waited one more year just to make these ai story and artwork actually feasible
hearing AI voices is so disappointing.. game looks nice though, definitely am more interested in this than any modern "AAA" racing game
its strange how none of these youtubers are complaining about the game, the terrible ai scripts and voices, the terribly arcadey physics, I guess crashing about all over the place is the new racing.

20 hours in the game so far and no issues with the physics, progression, or the graphics. Only issues I've noticed is the tendency of the AI to ram you and the obvious AI voice, but you can work around these issues really easily the more you play. For 20 USD this game is an absolute 10, considering the budget and manpower that was spent on this game. Most reviews on Steam don't even give the game a chance or complain about surface level issues.
I absolutely love your video. It was really refreshing to listen to someone positive and happy for a change. It looks like a really cool game. It brings me back to the Nfs Underground 2 era. Keep the positive energy. 🤙
There are a few things that they need to improve upon with CarX Street for it to pass above NFS Unbound.
1. They need to fix the NPC pathing and ramming issue
2. They need to fix the drift mechanics and controls. The cars are way too floaty and slide around way too much.
3. They need better engine sounds. They sound cheap and unrealistic in comparison to its competitors (NFS Unbound, Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown, Forza Horizon 5 and The Crew: Motorfest).
4. They need to get rid of the scripted traffic t-boning during races. It's not funny. It's bullsh*t.
Point of correction brethren: mobile version has the exact same map as PC. Mobile also has a huge f1 style racetrack in the top left side of the map so actually mobile map is bigger. The mobile physics is also straight up sim, not no simcade weak-sauce. I just get mad when people don't give props where it's due to the carx guys. I don't even like the guys but damn they setting the pace for all of gaming. I mean I'm looking at this PC port and I'm thinking "this ain't it chief" and I'm sure my mobile brethren feel the same. You should watch some of the OG carx street youtubers then you'll see what real carx street is

Sometimes after spending 15 minutes moving my wheel stand in to place, lining it up and then proceeding to do 2 hour time trail for a 60 minute league race on ACC, RRE or Iracing etc. Its just nice to pick up a pad and thrash out one of these arcade type racers as a change of pace.
Could you please make an overview of the full map? And drive around the map to see how big it is.

Im trying to play this game on my logitech g29, Ive binded all the settings but as soon as I load in my car is max revs, Ive got a feeling I need to invert my controls but can't find a way to do it, any suggestions?
Why is everyone talking about the voice acting? Who cares? Is the physics good thats what the concern should be because yall complain that every voice acting is cringe so who gives a crap.

Well I hope the money they paid you was worth it. You’ve lost my respect as far as reviews go anyone who’s tried to tune a car in this game and realized it’s going to cost hundreds of thousands of credits knows the reality.
Calling this game epic without doing the proper leg work to see if the systems and mechanics actually work is just bad journalism. Do your due diligence

This looks like an AI generated, souless version of what a computer thinks Need For Speed 2015 is. Honestly embarassing, they've made the effort to make this whole game and can't afford to pay a few voice actors and artists to make their game have some character? Hard pass, embarassing that you're giving this exposure without even saying anything about it.

What manner of crazy shilling is this? The game performs horribly, the handling is stiff and feels horrible, the cars only turn while under heavy braking, and somehow this is "epic"? :D I don't even care about the horrible AI "voice acting", it's just a bad game on a fundamental leve.

I'm getting 100+ fps on ultra settings. RTX 3070 GPU. Graphics are great. Handling takes a bit of getting used. Sort of like a more realistic Need for speed unbound without the stupid graphics and NOS nonsense but better handling.

Idk unbound is unmatched graphics wise. Also unbound with mods is crazy. Even vanilla handling is great. Idk for some reason carx street didn’t hit for me

on what grounds are you comparing it on, check out the new tdu improvement trailer with improved graphics, also tdusc is not a tuner game, carx street is your typical tuner cliche game.

Ive installed the mobile version a few days ago and actually, from what Ive seen so far the 2 versions are exactly the same, yes even the map.
In my opinion, the game doesnt feel like a mobile game, because the mobile version doesnt feel like a mobile game to begin with.
Its such a complex and well made game that it actually feels like a game that was made for the PC and then ported to mobile, not the other way round

Framerate is not a perfect 60... Why is it not a near-perfect 120??... This game doesn't look current and it's a mobile port at that.

I had to refund it on steam. I could forgive the AI voice acting. But the driving AI is terrible. You race against only 2 other cars. They constantly try and ram you. Traffic is on a kamakasi mission and handling needs work.
It has great potential but by no means is it complete
