I love how you spend a lot of time trying to make sense of the story and continuity of these games. It reminds me of my older writing style when I used to enjoy critiquing every element, only to now learn that simply calling the narratives incoherent and lacking context with some elaboration get the job done.
I've dabbled at the "Twisted Metal" games on emulators, and I can't say I enjoy any of them enough to justify owning a copy. I live in the UK, so 3 & 4 are out of the question, and 1 & 2 felt too clunky and unresponsive for me to get invested in (I might pick up 2 at some point, though).
For my money, the best vehicular combat game on the PS1 is "Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012". It's essentially a perfect middle ground. It has the memorability, aesthetics, attention to detail, and level design of 1 & 2, and the improved AI and play control of 3 & 4. It's such a fun experience I enjoy putting on from time to time.
Solid video, even though the writing style isn't my cup of tea nowadays. 👍

Never played TM3, the reputation it has always made me steer clear of it. I did play TM4 though, it's alright. I think it gets shit on too much. The character roster though.....Jesus Christ they got sloppy or didn't care. Rob Zombie and Calypso are cool to play as. Zombie driving the iconic dragula, and Calypso driving a nuke truck. But the other characters dear lord, why is Mr. Grimm a fucking pirate???
