I've tried most of these and found Wonderworks to be kind of erithrytol forward (to my palate), Perfect Keto to be meh, and Catalina Crunch to be the best tasting. None of them are 'must have' for me and due to the cost, won't be putting any in my shopping cart again. I find it interesting that none affected your glucose. Thanks for sharing!
Catalina Crunch is the only one I will spend money on. Not the biggest cereal eater, but every once in a while, I do enjoy a bowl. The Dark Chocolate and I add a few strawberry slices. I really enjoy that one.
@@TheRealRealOK In my opinion, both are pretty erythritol forward - probably close to the same. I didn't have them side by side so I couldn't say which had a stronger 'cooling effect'. Unlike Steve, I'm more sensitive to the cooling effect and in both PK & Wonderworks it was quite noticeable.

I recently had the Catalina Crunch from Costco. First impressions was the same for me it tasted very faintly of cinnamon and not sweet at all. However, the more you eat it over time the more you get the sweetness and now a week later when I eat it, it tastes like cinnamon flavored french toast cereal to me.
Hey Steve! Thanks for all the effort for this video. Cereal is a trigger for me. I tried all of these (and Magic Spoon) and each of the trigger my cereal receptors in my brain. I can smash of whole box of each of these and that is a BAD BAD idea at least for me. It's the fiber. You know what I mean.
Interesting, I posted that the catalina crunch triggered hunger when I ate it. After seeing your post, I wonder if all of them would. I couldn't stop eating and it wasn't even good ☹️
@@deannefalise2784 I'm the same. If I open a box of stuff like that it is a single serving, and I agree it isn't even that good. Mindless eating. At least we figured it out!
"That's my line." That's so funny. Terry is great at reviewing. I've been using the Perfect Keto cereal in yogurt. I let it sit a while and it softens up. I like the chocolate. Its pricey but better when on sale. I only like it as a treat. I've tried some of the others from Walmart. They are okay in a pinch. The Catalina is okay also. Really I'm like you Steve. I would rather have eggs and bacon with an occasional chaffle or something like that. Thank you both.
Great review you two!😀👍 I've been enjoying Wonderworks cereal for almost 2 years and really enjoy it! I usually have a half cup dry with my morning coffee and occasionally a half cup with coconut milk😋 Have a blessed week y'all 💜 🙏 ✌️ 🌞 💐 🎶
Oh! I might have to buy the one reminds you of Lucky 🍀 Charms marshmallows. I grew up w/two girls+ two boys in total and I remember brother would say “don’t pick out all the marshmallows!”
I LOVE the Perfect Keto cereal and especially find that intense crunch satisfying. I agree with others that most cereals and granolas are a huge trigger for me but the PK is so different, it is not a trigger. I like it on my homemade yogurt with a little Keto Chow mixed in. A great treat!
Great video Steve! I eat Catalina Crunch and jazz it up a little with pecan halves. There's a keto granola cereal at Costco that is supposed to be good. I also like Three Wishes cereal. The plain version reminds me of Cheerios. It's on Amazon and a local store here in VA.
I love the granola from Kiss my Keto. I combined a bag of salted caramel granola with a package of their snickerdoodle cookie mix prepared according to the package directions, added a handful of Keto chocolate chips and baked in a quarter sheet pan at 325°F for 20 min. Made 16 largish granola bars at 3 and a smidgen net carbs each. They were so good we immediately ordered 3 more boxes of snickerdoodle mix and 3 more bags of granola. Going to try the other varieties of granola, see how they work.
Used the Catalina Crunch as a topper on cinnamon chia pudding before I saw your video. I wasn't on board with it's ingredients so will try the perfect keto with the chia. 👍
Thanks for the honest and unbiased review. You are both very good at thoroughly explaining how it tastes and feels. I appreciate your opinion. The glucose tests are very helpful as well. Keep up the great videos and thank you!
This was a great vlog to wake up to! I had a 2 week bender with the Catalina Crunch. I felt like it messed with my blood sugar, but it also had me snacking waaaay too much. I don’t really miss cereal so I’ll stick with bacon and eggs. Thanks for this, Terry and you are so funny together. Love how you play off each other. ❤️❤️
The peanutbutter one is good when you mix the almond milk with the Perfect Keto peanutbutter collagen. I don't miss cereal. I never ate it much before.
I love cereal but so far have not found a keto-friendly option that scratched the itch and was worth the price and carb content for serving size. Thank you for reviewing some I hadn't tried yet but have wondered about! Again, it's good to be reminded to READ THE INGREDIENTS. Also, thank you for the blood glucose testing. That was quite interesting! Like you, I'm sticking with bacon and eggs for now.
Have you tried breaking up some pork rinds, using some sweetener like English Toffee sweet drops, some cinnamon and unsweetened nut milk? It has a kind of Rice Krispie texture, absorbs the milk and even pops a little. I sprinkle on some dehydrated spiced pecans (Alton Brown recipe made Keto friendly). Tasty!
I am on a cereal kick this week, and I have the Perfect Keto flavors on hand (thanks to you and PK’s sales!). I love the chocolate and cinnamon flavors, have not yet tried the honey nut. Not sure if I would try the others that you and Terry reviewed since I love the PK varieties, but thank you as always for your review videos. I see myself going back to eggs and bacon soon, but it is nice to have cereal (that is tasty) on hand when I need that cereal fix.
fantastic observation! I just ordered the perfect keto...any of these cereals would be GREAT for TRAVEL or working in the OFFICE and need FOOD, other than sardines, cold chicken or an boiled EGG. thanks Great video! Very helpful
Thank you Steve and Terri. Before keto my favorite breakfast was cereal and oatmeal, cereal I could eat the entire box within a day!! I would be triggered to eat the entire box if they were good at all, who in the world would eat 1/2 cup of cereal, not me!
Captain crunch was my favorite as well. I find cereal is being the most marked up garage food out there but I guess its less bad for kids...for me its a no with all those seed oils. Thanks for the video Steve.
You guys are so cute together. Enjoyed your interactions. I am not a huge cereal person and at thay price I will stick to bacon and eggs. Thanks for testing all these products!
I use to be a big cereal person pre keto. Not so much these days. Based on the ingredients, I think I'm good with bacon and eggs as well. Thanks for doing the grunt work!
I’ve tried the Perfect Keto Honey Nut and the Incredi-bowls. They’re ok taste-wise and do kinda scratch that cereal itch for me occasionally. I really like the 1 1/4 cup serving size of Incredi-bowls though. Lately, I’ve been adding a cup of almond milk with Perfect keto strawberry collagen for a yummy chocolate strawberry flavor 😃
I love the catalina crunch dark chocolate with some strawberries and unsweetened vanilla almond mlk when i’m in the mood for something crunchy and satisfying, I have to say their cereal is not very sweet at all . 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Like you as a kid my sister and I did eat cereal all the time. Now not much only as an occasional after dinner dessert. I bought some Kiss My Keto granola at my Stater Brothers ($9) and it last me couple weeks. Going to wait for Perfect Keto sale and get a few bags among other supplies. I tried to make my own and used oat fiber. Tasted good but turned out very heavy and did not soak up milk. Going to try again with other recipes. Thanks for the reviews. I tried to make my own and did not turn out very good
I mix Wonderworks with Catalina Crunch and it is more satisfying to my palate (variety of mouth feels and flavors). I love a mixture of the dark chocolate and peanut butter Catalina Crunch on some ice cream too, with a bit of natural peanut butter drizzled over the top. Mix it in for a blizzard!
Hi Steve, Can i ask what do you use for milk on the cereals? Something that didn't cause a blood glucose spike? just wondering because i might order a bag or 2 of the Perfect keto cereal to try. Thank you, Deb
I'm not a cereal person, but the Catalina Crunch brand has been a life-changer for me. I have tried their cereals, but "eh". It's cereal, but their sandwich cookies? Or their snack mixes? I LOVE THEM. I am a diet-controlled Type 2 diabetic and when I get a jonesing for something sweet, two cookies do the trick. And it's not infrequent that the snack mix IS my lunch. Most other keto foods just feel WRONG and I can't even force myself to swallow them because my gag reflex kicks in. It makes for GREAT alternatives when we are out and about and I being active and I don't have access to other food. I feel completely like I'm indulging (and it is indulging) but THAT kind of indulging isn't messing with my blood sugars at least.
Oh that cooling effect, I get that. I made the easy peanut butter cookies with just peanut butter, sweetener and an egg, used a blend with erithritol and monkfruit and it's still so pronounced. I love cinnamon toast crunch cereal if I ate sugar cereal and often I like cereal for dinner when I'm lazy or tired so I'd love to have a good substitute
Ditto on the Capt peanut butter crunch, loved it. I actually think it's a good thing it was a letdown otherwise you'd be tearing through that raising your glucose significantly with all those carbs! 🤣
Only 2 I’ve tried are Catalina Crunch and Perfect Keto. I love the Chocolate Perfect Keto. Think Catalina Crunch is ok. I add a bit of berries to it to add flavor. Perfect Keto is expensive and serving size is small. Economically it’s the worst but I like it. Thanks for the cereal review.
I have been a longtime addict of cinnamon toast crunch. As my replacement, I use some heavy cream with vanilla and a couple of stevia drops. Then I put in some crumbled pork rinds, top with cinnamon and nutmeg, and stir it all together. Keeps me full, flavor is spot on. However, can't let it sit, because once the pork rinds soak up some cream, they get soft FAST...
Like you I’m not much of a cereal eater however I recently used the Perfect Keto cereal for a lemon cheesecake bar crust as a replacement for the almond flour.
@@SeriousKeto Steve I used Low Carb with Jennifer’s “Lemon Cheesecake Bar” recipe. I just ground the cereal and replaced it one to one with the almond flour. It was a big hit with my non Keto family.
I like all of they. I don't eat breakfast. But have a 1/4 cup as a snack or after dinner. I was a huge cereal eater before keto. I have tested them also with no jump in glucose. I have never tried the Perfect Keto brand.
I was never much for cereal for breakfast, just as a snack. But I am seeing that Wally world seems to have a lot of keto foods. I need to explore that further. I was wondering, I didn't hear you say what kind of milk you used. Great review. Thank you Steve!
I bought the incredi-bowl at Ralphs(kroger) and liked it. I also got the Ralps brand from kroger which is Simple Truth in Berry and Cinnamon. The Simple Truth was as crunchy as the Perfect Keto but I just let it soak in the almond milk for about 10 minutes and then it was perfect!
I've tried most of these and didn't like them. Me and my SO physically grimace at each other when we walk by Catalina Crunch at the grocery store. Magic Spoons is the only keto cereal we've enjoyed and and buy regularly. Expensive, but worth it to hit that Saturday morning cartoons and cereal part of my memories every once in awhile.
Wow… such awful ingredients. Canola oil? Corn products? 🤢 Horrible. It’s a bummer that perfect keto is so expensive for anyone looking to improve their SAD diet, leaning Keto. Thank you for sharing. I enjoy your channel. I’m carnivore, but still enjoy watching several keto channels. Great review Steve. 👍🏼
This was great, but I've found basically what you did - the total carbs are just too high with these, for very small serving sizes, to make it reasonable for me to eat given my keto restrictions (45g per day). I can see sprinkling a few flakes of catalina crunch on keto chow ice cream though!
I've had the catalina crunch and didn't care for it for the taste. Plus, it actually triggered my hunger. I'm bummed about the peanut butter cereal because peanut butter Capt Crunch was my fave as a kid. I might try the perfect keto. The crunch (sound) reminds me of grape nuts.
When you poured the perfect keto into the bowl it sounded like you were pouring marbles or ball bearings. I’ve had all of those (except for perfect keto) and I like Catalina Crunch the best. But the ingredients make it hard for me to justify. I’ve been super happy, however, with Magic Spoon. Thanks again for a groovy review brother.
I like the wonder works dry to keep me full at work while entering into my eat time after fasting. the protein amounts keeps me good until my meal after work while supplementing some protein
How much of an insulin spike will kick us out of ketosis (or should be avoided)? Before I eat something, let's say I am at 100. And hour later I am at 120... is that good/bad/indifferent? I'm not sure of what the "good practices" are for testing how food reacts in my body.
I'm sure it varies by individual. Most sources consider movement over 30 points as a "spike". You should be concerned about both the size of the spike and how long your glucose stays elevated. For what it's worth, none of my testing - no matter how big the spike - has knocked me out of ketosis.
@@SeriousKeto I just started keto (vs. low carb) and had some powdered shake mixes in my pantry. One is Slimfast Keto and one is Slimfast Protein. Both say around 8g carbs minus fiber. From the label I guessed that the Protein mix would be "safer" but I went from 96-116 after an hour, 118 after 90 minutes, and then back to 100 at 2 hours. I don't have my numbers handy but the Keto was "safer" maybe because of the extra fat and MTC oil in the mix. Anyway, that was interesting! (I stopped drinking too!)
No comment on this video yet but my comment or question is: Steve, have you thought of doing voice work on TV? Every time I watch you I think I've heard you and seen you narrating something. You have a great voice and presentation for all I've seen you do. Just wondering.
There's a Kashi Go Keto that I liked (Cocoa), but probably higher carbs than the others. Besides these that can be found in some stores, there are Schoolyard Snacks and Magic Spoon. Both are very expensive though. I've not tried either.
On the peanut butter one I added peanut butter powder in the milk. Just to finish the box so I didn't have to throw it away. Lots of peanut butter powder. It is good this way but added more carbs to the total
There's a Keto granola I get that is absolutely delicious....can't remember the name as I'm out of it right now....Livelo? It's got frosted blueberries in it and the pouch is blue.
My wife always tells me cereal is my kryptonite. I saw a couple of these at Walmart a couple weeks ago and mentioned to her I wanted to try one. After reminding me cereal was my weakness I begrudgingly agreed and put it back.
I tried the Wonderworks and while I would say they are better than other Keto cereals but even they seem to lose their flavor and have an end consistency of cardboard. Maybe they've changed them a bit from a year ago. But you are right - really it's good that they don't taste that great to me because I would do the same and tear through a box. LOL
Serving sizes are incredibly small. When I was a professional cereal eater, I would have a Jethro Bodine sized bowl. Have you tried Magic Spoon cereal?
I am one of those, That LOVE cereal, I think sometimes I could eat a whole box. That being said, I'm on carnivore diet, which I am finally reaching a 1.7 ketosis, I am not going to break this just for a bowl of cereal. Final note: why do these manufacturers, not listen to what WE want. keto should mean something. I'll bet, they could sell more (if) they would listen to their customers. jeeeez And by the way I love the keto-mojo monitor.
Thank you for this, very helpful. The only of these I have is the Catalina Crunch, I mix it with the Keto granola that Costco sells. I'm wondering if you noticed any inflammatory reactions from some of these?
I may have seen these at Sprouts. They were ludicrously expensive for the small box. I picked up one shaped into round balls and made out of egg whites and it was meh, wouldn't buy it again. The Catalina Crunch might be worth trying. I'd add more cinnamon and sweetener to the bowl.
Thanks for reinforcing my impression that I'm not missing out on anything by passing on the keto cereal.

Magic Spoons is the only keto cereal we've enjoyed and and buy regularly. Expensive, but worth it to hit that Saturday morning cartoons and cereal part of my memories every once in awhile.
I like the Catalina Cinnamon Crunch only as an out-of-hand snack. The flavor does disappear in milk.
Hey Steve, since you aren’t diabetic, were you able to just purchase the Freestyle Libre without a prescription?
Through the Levels Health program, linked in the description
This was interesting to watch. Even pre Keto I was never a big cereal person other than making cheese grits
Wow… such awful ingredients. Canola oil? Corn products? 🤢
Horrible.
The crunch factor on the Perfect Keto cereal is off the charts.
I like the wonder works dry to keep me full at work while entering into my eat time after fasting. the protein amounts keeps me good until my meal after work while supplementing some protein
Yay Terri! Yay Steve!! ❤❤😊
Thank you for the kind words. 😊
Does the family check their blood glucose?
Metabolic health is not a concern of my family.
There's a Kashi Go Keto that I liked (Cocoa), but probably higher carbs than the others. Besides these that can be found in some stores, there are Schoolyard Snacks and Magic Spoon. Both are very expensive though. I've not tried either.
Great review. Sola has Keto cereal, too. Not sure how “clean” it is.
I didn’t know that. I’ll be reviewing Sola bread next week.
Thanks for TOFTT... but if you eat just one... are you satiated? or is it going to lead to binge eatting something else? Eggs & BACON for me... tks..
Not nearly as satiated as I would be with bacon and eggs. 😉
On the peanut butter one I added peanut butter powder in the milk. Just to finish the box so I didn't have to throw it away. Lots of peanut butter powder. It is good this way but added more carbs to the total
I was thinking about doing that using peanut butter collagen powder.
@@SeriousKeto that would work
Thanks for the reviews. I love cereal and would also go through a box in short order. I do miss cereal on keto but im better off without it.
I love Wonderworks.
Please do more reviews of products available in England too. Some of these aren't available here
I don't live in England
I tried the Wonderworks and while I would say they are better than other Keto cereals but even they seem to lose their flavor and have an end consistency of cardboard. Maybe they've changed them a bit from a year ago. But you are right - really it's good that they don't taste that great to me because I would do the same and tear through a box. LOL
Serving sizes are incredibly small. When I was a professional cereal eater, I would have a Jethro Bodine sized bowl. Have you tried Magic Spoon cereal?
I have not.
The ingredients seem to be somewhat cleaner than that WM stuff. I get it from Amazon.
I may try it out at some point. Like I said in this video, cereal doesn't really align with my eating habits.
I'll bet, they could sell more (if) they would listen to their customers. jeeeez
And by the way I love the keto-mojo monitor.
Costco also has a Keto Nut Granola with 3 net carbs. I think it’s great for breakfast.
Our Costco has NuTrail Keto Nut Granola/Blueberry Cinnamon .Very clean ingredients especially compared to these.
I'll have to look for that.
Did you see the recent study that allulose reduces blood sugar? And apparently rather quickly! Maybe that’s why your glucose measured so well..?
Eating Catalina crunch while watching this 🤣
Hmmm, maybe there's a use for the Fairlife with DHA - it tastes like cereal milk and is a bit too sweet, standalone.
Never have been a cereal eater....not now, not never, especially chocolate, marshmallows, lol.
Thank you for this, very helpful. The only of these I have is the Catalina Crunch, I mix it with the Keto granola that Costco sells. I'm wondering if you noticed any inflammatory reactions from some of these?
No inflammation. Had I experienced it, I absolutely would have called that out. 🙂
I love Catalina crunch as a snack
I may have seen these at Sprouts. They were ludicrously expensive for the small box. I picked up one shaped into round balls and made out of egg whites and it was meh, wouldn't buy it again. The Catalina Crunch might be worth trying. I'd add more cinnamon and sweetener to the bowl.
I am most interested in these cereals to add into chocolate bars for texture
I was think about that as a way to use up the rest of those boxes...
Was thinking along the same lines...no bake cookies maybe? Keto of course!
