Sometimes if there was certain Topic that get discussed or people asking in Reddit i remember the number of EPS it was happening. Damn 24 eps with 2 hour content.
Well I intended to listened to all of them while drawing some tank waifus, then I realize I have been staring intently at the wrong screen for the past 2 hours and have drawn 1 line.

My favorite part of this is that now everybody calls them "Joey," "Garnt," and "Connor" It's great.

And sometimes they misspell Garnt. I remember reading a wikia where they spelled his name right the first time, then called him Grant throughout the rest.

@@carlosjavierpalacios6194 indeed, indeed.
i’m kinda glad that the podcast is more about other topics or random tangents instead of just anime. There’s something refreshing about three bros just sitting down and talking about anything and everything they want to. It’s a nice way to just relax and unwind and forget about all the shit happening on the internet or real life.
Yeah lowkey the same. If it was always about anime then I probably wouldnt be as invested since I havent seen that micu anime yet and knowing them, i'd probably be confused ot spoiled regarding most of the anime they talk about. Plus I like hearing about life behind the camera, really gives you a perspective over the boys lives and how they spend it
Totally agree, they could talk about anything on this podcast and I'd still listen in every week because of their personalities. Their banter keeps it refreshing and gives insight into their lives outside of RUclips, which is a nice change of pace than listening to solely anime discussions. Personally, there's an enjoyment factor that allows for each episode to be rewatched without feeling stale
Tbh if it was strictly about anime I wouldn’t be as interested. I got a pretty nasty case of anime burnout early this year that I haven’t really recovered from. Love Trash Taste tho.
Yea,we love Trash taste because seeing our favorite boys talking about life or weird stuff is entertainment for itself, but listening how they got burnout and having hard time enjoying good anime (while they also know, now days quality show is easy to access) it's very sad,yes we're all in state where either we don't have much time enjoying anime/just how the weebs cycle is,and i just wish they didn't left anime (the actual anime) cause how broad the term anime is now days and talk about some good/just roast them anyway.
Either way both of them are still our favorite RUclipsr to enjoyed.
It's definitely much more enjoyable. When I first heard the boys were doing a podcast, I was kind of like, mmmm, I don't know about this. When I heard the first few episodes and realized theyre actually talking about real or cool topics other than anime, I was overjoyed. Not Ims saying I dont like anime, but there are other things to talk about than just anime alone.
The seven stages of being a weeb:
1.) Denial: I'm not a weeb...I just like anime
2.) Pain and guilt: Is it bad to be a weeb?
3.) Anger: SO WHAT IF IM A WEEB!
4.) Depression: I can't be a weeb...
5.) Upward turn: whats so bad about being a weeb?
6.) Reconstruction: ok..ok...well of im a weeb...now what?
7.) Acceptance: Im a weeb dammit
‘Cue guts theme’
not relatable i loved and embrassed being a weeb since birth
So I'm a weeb, so what?
I skipped all the way to 7
Why is that so true!?
I really like that Trash Taste doesn't just talk about anime. As a person who's interested a lot about the different aspects of otaku culture, listening along to the different topics and stories is really fun! Even some things about Japan and what happens in your daily lives is really entertaining to listen along too!
It's sorta like "hey we became friends because we had something sorta in common but we've discovered more stuff and we like to hang out more" kind of situation but in a (hopefully?) not-creepy way. We all have different interests after all too and I'm glad Trash Taste also covers other topics.
Edit: I never expected this much attention but this is just my opinion at the end of the day! I'm glad I was able to see other people share similar opinions but also those who don't respect eachother here!
If any of the Trash Taste Bois™ somehow read this, thank you so much for creating this podcast! And let's keep supporting them if we can ❤️
Exactly. I love just listening to their podcasts cos they're simply chatting about things I really enjoy (anime and non-anime stuff). My favorite episodes have been the food episode and the drift special. Awesome shizz. Also, the best part is just that it's like listening to a genuinely interesting and fun, non-toxic online conversation
Was going to comment the same thing. I feel like people in any fandom, especially the anime community, well, I'll speak for myself, have very specific opinions on likes/dislikes for anime and more often than not you meet people who really don't share tastes 1-1 and honestly that's fine. What you do in that situation is you bond over the anime that you do like and then hopefully build a friendship on that and other topics. With that said, Connor, Joey, and Garnt definitely do not have the same exact tastes in anime and certainly don't align 100% with mine. So in all honesty, when they do talk about anime, I will probably not be as invested because it might be about anime series I don't care for or they might not appreciate a series as much as I do. But when it's about random topics and everyday life in Japan, 10000000% way more interesting. Hoping the podcast continues to be way more not about anime and then a bit about anime here and there.
@@PlatinumPunkd True
I personally disagree as I never cared about what they're into, I just care about their opinions on anime, but hey, I'm glad you and many others do enjoy the podcast :)
Honestly same. I think it's because it's not only that we enjoy their convos about different aspects of otaku culture, it's that we want to see the Trash Taste bois talk about different things and not just anime. Personally, I'm not watching for only anime content, but for Joey, Garnt, and Connor's conversations, personalities, and the energy they have as good friends. Like, my favorite episodes were the episode they discussed Japanese food and the episode they had with Chris (Abroad in Japan). Hopefully that doesn't sound weird lol

Totally agree with Connor, everyone i know is sick of social media. doesn't necessarily mean they actually use it any less, because they're addicted to it, but they don't enjoy it
Sometimes social media is a bad thing and sometimes it isn't
I stopped using twitter. Best thing I ever did. Still addicted to Discord tho.
Yeah, and I came to that realization back in 2017 when I permanently stopped using facebook and insta and haven't logged in since. The best part is, I really don't want to log in even now. I feel no need or want and am actually glad. I think they aren't bad per se, but life is better without it.
I was like that till 2020 when i finaaly deleted twitter, facebook and snapchat whatsapp and phone calls are actually more than enough...
@Mr. Kasshu I think Reddit does count to a degree, but your experience will vary wildly depending on which subs you follow and how you choose to engage. I just use it to have a laugh at funny memes every now and then during my breaks at work and that's about it. Some subs are so toxic they literally cannot be engaged with at all. r/politics for example is just a massive cesspool of confirmation bias seeking TDS afflicted liberals. Don't even try to play devil's advocate with them. If they smell so much as an iota of conservatism in your rhetoric, your karma will be drain into oblivion faster than one can say "You guys preaching for unification since Biden's yet to be confirmed victory are full of shit aren't you?"
Literally the only way to engage with social media in a semi-healthy manner is to follow people/subs that just post wholesome cute and ultimately puerile and pointless content like cat pictures and memes. The minute you attempt to go for a substantive conversation, you lose. It's literally the worse way humanity has ever devised for communication. You'd have a better chance for a worthwhile conversation using smoke signals. Everyone's that addicted to these platforms is a lesser human for it.
My girlfriend doesn't watch anime but likes to listen to trash taste with me , because it's a funny light hearted podcast filled with positivity
Lol welcome to the second half of the podcast

Trash Taste isn't even an anime podcast anymore
Truthfully, I couldn't give a damn about what you talk about. I like anime, sure, and I like hearing about it, but I also love hearing Conner talk about chess, and Joey talking about Japanese culture, and Garnt talk about gacha games and vtubers. I'm not here for anime, that's a side effect. I'm here because I like hearing you guys talk about things you like to talk about.
I am not gonna lie you had me at the first half

Idk if u guys are ever gonna see this comment but here goes nothing: Me and a ton of us trash taste viewers are here because we enjoy your personalities. And we like just listening to you guys hang out. You could literally be talking about experimental wall painting methods and at least half of us would still watch and enjoy every minute of it. We want you guys to just chill and enjoy the podcast rather than feeling pressured to talk about certain things. Of course we like it when you talk about certain subjects we’re interested in (like Gacha for me lmao) but what we enjoy the most is that it feels like we’re sitting at the table with you and we’re just listening in on a normal conversation.
This is so true
I agree 100%
I've struggled with being social for years, and it's hard for me to know how to interact with people or engage in conversations. Listening to streams and podcasts like this, it feels like I'm learning more about feeling comfortable with approaching topics and just being yourself around friends or acquaintances. Sometimes you don't even need to have similar tastes; you just need an all-around positive atmosphere and treat others the same respect as how "you" would want to be treated.
Like can you read minds , could not have said it better
Absolutely nailed it

Okay I need to say this, I like anime but I don’t watch the podcast for anime. I watch trash taste for The boys.
As someone who lives in the US but has been interested in anime on and off for most of my life, watching Digimon, Pokemon, and Naruto as a young child, then developing my own taste in other mainstream and obscure anime as a teen, I can relate to the transition of preferring manga as a young adult simply because I can read quicker than I could watch a show and how available different types of manga are. So many good manga exist that may never be made into anime and I like being one of the people who appreciate them, my only hold up is an inability to read/speak Japanese, meaning I still have to rely on translators and whatever they decide to make an English version of.

What I like best about this podcast is how genuinely interested you all are in talking about ... whatever you want to talk about. The variety keeps it fresh, hearing about your personal experiences and authentic enthusiasm (in any direction) is what keeps me clicking every week. There are EXTREMELY few things I'm willing to watch for two full hours at a time and keeping up with - but this show is one of the things that tops the list. Keep it up, guys - love what you all do.
I don't care what you guys talk about, almost everyone here is here for the personalities.

yep, i'm actually glad it's not just about anime, but just life stuff, what i enjoy most of all is just the way they play off each other
I’m not really subscribed to Gigguk, Connor and Joey but whenever I needed to watch a video about anime or weeb things, that’s when I go and look for them. I have always liked video essays about animes and when the first episode came out of Trash Taste, I expected just commentary about anime but it was actually just them talking naturally which is the kind of podcasts that I like. I love that they go on tangents and it made me appreciate them even more and made me connect with them more. Being themselves is what made me stay and wait for every upload of Trash Taste. More power bois 🤘🏼
I prefer 70% TANGENTS and 30% ANIME TALK
How about 50% Tangents, 30% Anime Talk and 20% doing stuff outside a studio, like their drifting video and what Chris Broad does.
Or like instead of inside the studio, film a normal Trash Taste video but around a table in a hotel with yukatas and shit. Though idk how the logistics of that would work out.
50% tangents, 30% anime and 20% ads
I prefer whatever the heck they throw at us at this point
I'd enjoy more anime talk but then I realize I probably wouldnt have watched like half of the things they talk about (and while it's still interesting from an outsider perspectice) I'm kinda glad they dont hyperfocus on that. I do hope they dont stray too far from the weeb culture, and I'm sure that if they started another year, with a lot of fresh anime coming out it might have been a bit different. But I dont hate this. I do look forward to more guests though, sometimes it balances it out a bit more.

Hey guys, I really enjoyed this episode! I'm currently working my way through all the episodes. I usually watch them while I'm animating / drawing, so I get the whole consuming media thing in the background, but your podcast is excellent! I think the reason so many people enjoy it, despite not being an "anime" podcast like it was marketed is because you boys are so genuine when you come here to talk, and you just get a human conversation which I feel like everyone can relate to at some point. I guess it comes back to the whole "friendship-simulator" thing you mentioned a while back, because though on the internet each of your brands is your personality in a way, here people can see a deeper side of you and really feel that human connection. Sorry for the long comment, just wanted to let you boys know you're doing great!

As someone who considers himself a general fan of anime but is in his Mid-30s, married, and is part of the "N word" group, I actually started taking an interest this Podcast because of the fact that you guys talk about other things than just anime.
I enjoy anime because it is an artistic medium that dared to push the limits and explored avenues that other animated shows at the time didn't want to go into. However, I am not heavily invested in the general Otaku culture and as such, its hard for me to relate to individuals who have gone deep down the rabbit hole so to speak.
Both me and my wife enjoy watching you guys because we see a normal bunch of dudes who are building up their lives and talk about their experiences, with anime being just one segment of that life long journey.
Keep doing what you do guys.

Listening to you guys talk about oversaturating of media and being too plugged into the internet, I just wanted to say that it sounds like you're experiencing burnout and a lack of a sustainable work-life balance (and also internet-irl life balance). I think this is very common for people in the 20-35 age range, because we remember a time growing up before the internet and can sense that being overly connected to an online world isn't healthy mentally or physically. I think it's perfectly acceptable, and honestly preferable, to set boundaries around how you interact with the internet and all of your apps. I can also understand struggling to maintain these boundaries, esp when you see other people around you being more available online or being more plugged in, and wishing you could handle it as well as they could - and wondering if you're the outlier and everyone else is just normal. And I also understand being addicted to the internet, bc let's face it: most of us are.
But I believe it's important to remember that humans' brains have not evolved very far past the time when we were cavemen, and we are not wired to handle living virtually on the internet 24/7, forsaking our irl lives and relationships and hobbies. This is why I always wonder how you guys handle your careers as RUclipsrs, bc you have to think so often about your life on the internet and can't unplug for an extended period of time very easily... It's both impressive and a bit scary.
Anyway, I hope you guys are doing well on your end and not letting yourself be subsumed by the internet.

For me, I can really tell when I've spent too much time on the internet because I do feel the way you do, I used to get the same feeling during school summer holidays and was always excited to go back to school because I'd be busy and seeing my friends every day. I think where 2020 has been super hard is that the internet is now the ONLY way to see all your friends so its all got Too Much. It's so important to consciously remind yourself that there is more to life than just the internet and that its just one part of your life.

I like when you guys talk about your experience with anime or mention your favorites or nostalgic shows. But it’s also great when you guys just talk about whatever with the occasional anime reference thrown in. But this podcast has just become a real delight all around.
Man, this podcast episode is hella relatable, especially as someone who's been battling his own addictions to gaming and the Internet...
For me, the reason I enjoy this podcast so much is because I get to see your personalities. I'm sure lots of your fans are the same. Half the time, I don't even care what you guys talk about lol. It's just interesting to find out about said thing and then your opinions on it. We're similar in age too, so a lot of experiences we've had are quite similar.
I'm at the same stage as Joey as well, when it comes to anime and manga. I read like 30-40 (mostly monthly) manga series, but I haven't watched more than like 5 anime series in the past 3 years. I note down stuff I think I'd like, but I never actually go and watch it. Mostly because I feel like I'm wasting my time if I only watch anime, and am not doing something else in the background.
I used to be really into RuneScape about a year ago and whenever I was grinding, I'd put on a RUclips video or anime to watch, while grinding whatever in the background. Thinking about it now, I'm not even sure I was enjoying either of them that much. And when I finally maxed my account (got all my skills to 99), I lost all interest in the game. It was just dead to me. Little 11 year old finally achieved his dream and that was it. I tried to go back to it again recently, for a double XP event, and it was a literal chore to even get myself to play.
At the moment, I've just been hopping between games I've made commitments to, be it that I've said I want to complete the game with friend or that I've bought a battle pass of some variety and want my money's worth. While I do still get some enjoyment from it, I always feel guilty for spending my time gaming. Same with watching RUclips. I want to do all these things, but at the same time, I feel like shit for doing them.
I know I need to sort my life out. Just trying to take it one step at a time. Breaking addictions isn't easy, but the first step is admitting you have a problem. Hopefully, eventually, I will get back to the feeling of simply enjoying media for entertainment and nothing else.

That's why, for starters, I'm trying not to pick up anything new and finish with what I'm currently working on before moving onto anything else. Not easy. :')
