"on exam day you wouldnt highlight the textbook you would do the exam papers"
thats probably the best advice ive ever heard about getting good grades
Yups its something my mom has ingrained in me from the start also
Yeah for real!
This video is actually helpful instead of some useless advice
Main three points:
1-active recall(read a page , go away, come back and recall in mind what you read then open the book and refill the gaps ,do it till you remember it all)
2-practice (past) papers( they gonna show you where you stand and till what what extent you are prepared, the things you're not familiar with, go make a recall of that)
3-the burnout line( how to work intensely, it's basically about the number of hours you stay focused, take breaks I guess.. and don't stress:))
Thanks alot for this😭
Very much helpful
Thanks bro
This helped a lot
Leaving this here so I get a notif when someone replies (thanks)

Summary of the Video ( Point 1-3 ):
1. 1:23 Active Recall. Read the page, go away for 5 min., come back and recite what you know, and then fill in the gaps of knowledge. Repeat this and slowly build on knowledge. Taking breaks gives time for the brain to process information.
2. 3:04 Practice Papers. Answer exam papers from past students while hiding the answers. It shows you your weaknesses and you could repeat the process making progress in your weaknesses.
3. 5:27 The Burnout Line. You should do intense work, but have long periods of recovery ( like the pomodoro technique ) to avoid burnout and shallow work. Either work hard or rest hard, but not in the middle.
I do recommend watching "Marty Lobdell - Study Less Study Smart" because it covers even more ideas on studying.
Thanks bro

im about to have the most important exam in my life in 3 days and this appeared on my youtube page! I always have problems w my procrastination but this video help me out, thanks dude
Your videos are genuinely phenomenal. They touch on subjects that we already know, like active recall, but expand on it to show how it works, why it works, and the results of the work itself. Amazing!
it's my first time watching him he speaks straight facts and things that actually make sense I literally love this guy he is cute so the video keeps me attached and everything just falls into place when he says it (the gimme a kiss was soo cute😭😭😭)
I've heard many people talking about active recall and other study techiques, but yours was unique. It was a striaght point to point explanation and I've never been so clear about it until I found this. Thankyou soo much 😢
That's my first kiss from an intellectual man! God, it should not be making me emotional!!!🤧🤧🤧🤧
I must say, thank u sm man. I recently moved from the US and found it really difficult to understand how to learn and study in IGCSE because the learning style in the US is much different and in my opinion, horrible. After finally understanding how these study methods work and how I personally can use them, I can already feel so much more information being registered in my head and I am able to carve out an actual path or goal for me to take for my exams. Hope u continue to succeed!
OMG FRFR it was so hard at first i got so confuse got left behind etc etc
After many years of hanging in my recommendations, I finally watched this video

I gotta say man, I love how every single one of your videos are ACTUALLY HELPFUL and the advice you give is realistic. No bs, just great advice. Thanks bro
Probably the best entertaining, engaging, and helpful study video. Deffinently saving this!
dude your advice is always so genuine and useful, i always feel a little more hopeful after watching your videos, thanks man
Nice thanks. Two more days until exam
In India even we have 10 yrs papers concept.
We generally refer to them as PYQs (Previous year questions)
They are applicable to 10th and 12th standard students.
But for students appearing for college entrance exams like JEE and NEET they need more than 10 yrs of papers..
Probably 36 yrs papers
But the paper pattern and the type of questions keep on changing
10yrs paper = 10 or more than that 🤔
bruh speaks in idk what language that i understand every single word CLEARLY
00:03 Use the 80/20 rule to study effectively
01:16 Active recall is the best way to study
02:34 Using flashcards and practice papers for effective studying
03:48 Use practice papers to simulate exam day and improve gradually
05:04 Practice papers prepare for the real exam
06:16 Work hard, rest hard, don't stay in the middle
07:27 Work in short sprints with high intensity followed by long recovery periods.
08:43 Focus on the intensity of work, not on increasing time.
Thank's for the useful timestamps.

This is honestly the best channel I've ever come across. Every video attacks an aspect of life I deeply want to improve. So many topics that I thought only I struggle in, your videos proved me that I'm not alone and its a journey where I'm rectifying it with everyone else. Thank you so much.
thank you for opening my eyes! I really didn't know if I was doing enough work or if I just thought so. because at a time when others, without putting in any effort, received the same marks as me, it became unclear to me why this was so heh

"hard work is only the beginning."
Making your brain understand that you shouldn't spend 8 hours a day studying is such a huge limiting belief to destroy. But what a difference it makes when you get time to enjoy life AND getting higher grades.
nahh this the greatest video ive ever watched wtf , these tips sound so simple but they work hella well . ive never actually realised any of them myself ,ty so much.
I have exam tomorrow wish me luck 😔
I'm late but how's the exam?
Thanks ❤for the plan and motivation ❤❤
today was my first final exam, of Physics. Day after tomorrow I'll have Chemistry and that's like my weakest subject so I wanna do my best. Thanks for the tips dude
how was chemistry? 😭
Its my first 2 weeks of high school, and though things are starting off relatively easy, i extremely appreciate this advice still as, you neverknow when it's gettin real.
In India we have this strategy of past ten year question papers. Every student does this probably coz sometimes in the exams the questions are repeated. I have PHYSICS exam tomorrow and chemistry after a week. Can you give tips on chemistry?
thank you man!! i’ve been procrastinating all week and switching to study content has helped immensely in making me motivated to study :)
But what if you have too much syllabus and little time?
90+ chapters ( each chapter consists of 50 - 150 pages)
Ig raise efficiency and time at the same time keeping in mind to limit Distractions.
Also, don't do everything just prioritise the important chapters, take previous year papers, see what type of questions are asked and practice accordingly.
Also, the time you practice questions, should be equal or more than the time you spend in learning the theory.
Take regular tests like twice a week or so.
Rest you can modify according to the exam you're appearing for. All the best!
@@jnishaera I am half way through the syallabus approx 49 Chapters , theory wise. Currently lacking practice questions. So I will keep that in mind to practice more questions. The hardest things to me are Maths and Organic Chemistry.
Neet aspirant ? 🤔

That’s definitely true bc for most of the A levels i was basically doing shallow work trying to study for so long every day but my grades stayed at around C and B. But for the last month I’ve actually been lazier but when i do work i just target it at areas that i know i need to improve and i only learn what i need to know, so for bio i’ve been doing papers, marking them and filling in the topic gaps with snaprevise flashcards which r rlly targeted. It rlly helped me improve my exam wording and understanding. I managed to go from C to A on one of the papers which im so grateful for. But now i need to focus on improving the grades of my other subjects which are more content and essay structure based. Hopefully i can fix that for the exams in May. Thanks for the video :)

About the burnout line
I usually am in all three zones. Intensely studying for some time, then I go to rest and before I go back to intense study I do active recalling throughout my day. So I’m kinda always studying but just doing bare minimum.
And it works! Cause then I remember stuff better and know where I need to study more. I ask myself simple questions like “when did the battle of Yorktown happen again” and then I see if I can remember and basically info dump everything I know in my head. I do this while walking to school or hanging out with friends even. It’s really low effort but works so well
me at 1am watching this, i hv exam tmr(math and bio)

this whole time i sometimes get in the middle but geez i realize after my scores are lower than before and i finally open my mind clearly than before anyways good advice
thank you, really. i think this is probably the most helpful advice. ive done similar tactics to this, like active recall (not the same as you put it though, i like to give fake lectures by talking to myself and notice when i fall short with my knowledge). i just have to do practice exams. i have ap bio on Thursday, which is based completely on memorization and correctly articulating your vocab from across the units, and math.
My finales are in a few hours and this just gets recommended to me. RUclips must be watching.
I’m so glad to have found this channel. Some real content right here, helpful, well paced, quality.
