I too love remote 4X4 touring. After watching this video I had a heart check (calcium score), good results have given me the confidence to continue. The idea of ‘checking your vehicle, check your body’ makes sense and should be promoted. Thanks for the advise.
Wow. This is completely neglected topic ‘check your health before leave’. I have every single test and checks done to me in prints in my car with me all the time. My grand father died from heart problem. My dad had his bypass in his early 50s. What an eye opener doctor. Glad you bring this up. Much appreciated Rooma
My pleasure... good idea to have all your health information with you when you travel. From a doctors perspective its extremely useful when patients present to the ED with all their up to date health records as well as an up to date list of all medicines and allergies. Cheers
Howdy Peter, thanks so much for giving us a bloody good scare. I’m 74 with plenty to work on, but i’ve always felt my heart was maybe by best attribute (having had the scope thru my heart years ago), but before I take off, I will definitely book in for the CAC. Thanks again, Best Wishes, John Edwards
Hi John , I'm so glad you've found this video useful. Yes get it done and then you'll know either way . Please share amongst your friends to spread the word about this test. Cheers Peter
Sensible advise. And what a coincidence. Only two days ago I went to my RUclips subscription list, and saw your channel name and noticed it's been over a year since you last posted an episode. Then hoped nothing terrible has happened to you both. Wishing you both all the best.
So glad you're back Pete, and OK! Great message, "check your truck check your heart". Hope to see more of you and Liz exploring this great country... your vids are awesome 😎
Thanks Keith... the message could also be "check you bike check your heart" plenty of mid forties and above peeps out there riding bikes who could do with the same advice... share it around... cheers mate
Great advice! I work in the Cath Lab where we place stents. Have often thought about how unfortunate it would be to get stick somewhere remote and have a heart attack. Glad you’re ok!
this is a great message, for people like me who happily wander along safe in the knowledge that "it will never happen to me". I was interested to hear if you now have a permanent fix or is this going to reoccur in the future? Take care and i hope to see you on the track soon.
thanks Michael glad you found it useful. Hopefully it won't reoccur but I am always at risk. If I keep an eye on things with regular checkups maintaining a good metabolic health hopefully I'll be out hitting those tracks for many decades to come
Hi Eugene. Great question thanks. Mainly I cut out all processed foods. I also reduced the amount of carbohydrates in my diet and increased my animal based protein and fats. I have also tried to improve my sleep and decrease my stress due to work as well as social stressors. I think we underestimate the role of chronic stress in our lives as well the negative effects of poor sleep... I think this is a huge problem for many people. Cheers

I really appreciate this video, Pete, and have just booked a GP appointment to organise a CAC scan. All the best with TroopyDoc!
Could have also been exacerbated by the mRNA jabs too. Remaining vigilant is key.
Not in my case as I held out till after my stents were done so there would be no additional complicating factors.

@@fritzintroopy True thanks mate.
How many experimental mRNA jabs did you take?
None. I held out until after my stents were done so there would be no potential complicating factors.
Great Video Doc, a bit of a wake up call for us all.
Will getting in touch with my G.P. ASAP
