Victorian High Country Blue Rag Range Track. Troopy Trip Episode 1
Came through this area in the mid 80's. At Millstream near the old homestead was a palmgrove where thousands of Bats roosted during the day. Came back 2 years ago and all was gone. Enquired, and was told the palms had to go because the where not naitive to the area. ? Love your Videos
thanks for the feedback... hopefully awe can crank out a few more soon. cheers
Glad that the series has continued! WA is on our hit-list for next year so I'm furiously taking notes 👍
there's still the Gibb and Dampier peninsula to come as well the Bungles!
Hey, Great to see you guys back. Keep a look out for a the very rare Pilbara Olive Python, reported to grow in excess of 4 metres in length. They are a spectacular looking serpent and of course, non venomous. P.S. I went and got my CAC score done, and it came up super low, so thanks again from me AND my G.P. Doctor Rod
@@lukebrady3728 awesome tip for next time. I love snakes, Mrs Fritz not so much 😂. Fantastic news about your CAC score!!! That’s awesome 💪🏼💪🏼
@@fritzintroopy Thanks Doc, my GF being originally from Romania, was the same as Mrs. Fritz, but she has slowly come around, after seeing them in the wild at safe distances
@@lukebrady3728 😂👍🏼👍🏼
Makes me miss WA ❤ Great video guys 👌😊
@@GrizzlyNbearOverland ah cheers mate. It’s a great part of the world
I’m sooo jealous!! I miss the Outback. Love the aerial shots - I thought there was going to be a bird strike! 😢
@@peterfritzphoto it’s a special place hey! The birds in that shot were pretty cool. Thanks for watching
@@fritzintroopy Truly magical! Are you working during these trips?
@@peterfritzphoto fortunately not. Just working on my tan and the connection with the great outdoors! There is a plan to do some Telehealth work while out on the road one day if we go away for another extended trip.
@@fritzintroopy Magical! I hope to mirror your lifestyle somewhat as soon as my son finishes school. 👍
@@peterfritzphoto one life…live it!!!
That hot tub!😍 beautiful landscape 🎉
@@leonorabarany5061 the hot tub was pretty special… until a family with kids turned up and we had to leave..hahah

Awesome wildlife....those baby Meerkats were sooo cute❤❤
To hard heap of shit.... I had a KEA Conquer 2007 vintage twice the room way easier to use better ventilation a benchmark in pop tops ...these aluminium cabs would be a nightmare in high winds and when it wet and freezing outside. A hard top is a better option than these expensive mistakes
Awesome you feel you had such a great pop top... everything has its pluses and minuses... cheers
Where can you get these armrests ? as the storeman has NO idea 👎
They aren't available any longer from Connect 4x4.
@@fritzintroopy do you know where you can get them from mate ?
@@whynot0969 connect 4x4 are not making them anymore unfortunately… you’ll need to buy another brand
@@fritzintroopy ok , thank you for letting me know, appreciate it 👍
excellent video - love the simplicity, actually worked better than most "elaborate" drawer systems
thanks for the feedback... after all this time it still works a treat. Cheers
Did you buy the Troopy with the standard stock Bridgestone 225/95/r16 or where the B F Goodrich tyres already on it ? If you ran the 225/95 what was your experience with them as far as km is concerned. Just interested, because i can't get more then 35000 km out of them.
You did better than us getting 35k. We did have the Bridgestones but they only lasted 25000 km. They started to crack and chip heavily so changed to BF Goodrich and have done 37000 km so far and they still look good.
Thanks Pete&Liz. Had the same bad experience with the split ring Dunlop tyres. Will take your advice, thanks.
Great informative vid I’m just in process of buying a troop and looking to doing a similar fitout . Cheers JT
cheers mate glad you found it useful
Nice !
Fantastic! Good to see you both on the road again! Wish you both health, happiness and an adventurous 2024! 👍♥️
Thanks Anneke... lots more to come this year!
I too love remote 4X4 touring. After watching this video I had a heart check (calcium score), good results have given me the confidence to continue. The idea of ‘checking your vehicle, check your body’ makes sense and should be promoted. Thanks for the advise.
Hey that's fantastic news!! So glad you found the info helpful and the results were good, Cheers and thanks for the feedback
Got to love that load shedding 😂 Great video guys ❤❤❤
can't say we miss it!
Love those camp chairs! 😍😜
pretty comfy.... do you need them in May?
I guess the only positive thing I see in this video is that the rock was found in the brake system and you were able to fix vehicle!! Toyota not a Land Rover!!
🎉🎉 Thanks for sharing this, very exciting ...those elephants! 😮❤🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
thanks Nor... they're pretty awesome!
I really appreciate this video, Pete, and have just booked a GP appointment to organise a CAC scan. All the best with TroopyDoc!
Holy shit...
watch my close call in the desert vid.... very relevant to blokes our age
@@fritzintroopy I did - straight after this one. Thanks, mate.
Howdy Peter, thanks so much for giving us a bloody good scare. I’m 74 with plenty to work on, but i’ve always felt my heart was maybe by best attribute (having had the scope thru my heart years ago), but before I take off, I will definitely book in for the CAC. Thanks again, Best Wishes, John Edwards
Hi John , I'm so glad you've found this video useful. Yes get it done and then you'll know either way . Please share amongst your friends to spread the word about this test. Cheers Peter
Have you seen the Headspace roof conversion I put one on my new Troopy pretty happy with it
have seen it only on OverlandTravellers Troopy... looks great.... hope youre loving it
Been going to gnaraloo for 25 years on and off on fishing trips If you’re not into surfing or fishing I would give it a miss It’s overrated and the station manager is a piece off work Glad you enjoyed it this time
I'm looking at purchasing a Troopy soon and I'm learning towards the Mulgo due to it being much lighter and having a lower profile to the Alu-cab. I'm only a 173cm so the length of the Mulgo should be just fine for me.
hey Andrew... I reckon you'll be just fine in it at your height. Enjoy
@@fritzintroopy I enjoyed the comparison, you did a good job explaining the pros and cons of each. Just a question mate on how does it perform when it’s windy, is that a issue or not really? I’ve heard from others who had roof top tents and they said they were terrible when it was windy, so I’m keen to see how the Mulgo holds up.
@@andyedison2416 a mild to moderate wind isn't too bad especially if its not too cold and you can open the sides and let the link go through... Anymore than that and they do flap about a fair bit which is annoying but It would be the same for all RTT with canvas. At least the mungo has no zips to make noise in the wind though...
I read David Gillespie’s book “Sweet Poison about 12 yrs ago and gave up sugar then and there. I remember going on a total sugar detox and suffering withdrawal symptoms 😅. I’m 2 months into total abstinence from alcohol now and don’t miss it at all, although I never was a big drinker and have previously gone 9 months straight without a drop. Agree with you, sugar is terrible for humans and unfortunately the population now is consuming it in vast quantities.
That’s fantastic mate. You’re body will thank you for those 2 great moves. Takes a lot of effort and discipline but it’ll be worth it. Cheers and thanks 🙏🏼
Simple and practical I like it a lot
thanks so much
can I ask what material is used to make the bed panel?
for which conversion alucab or Mulgo?
@@fritzintroopy either of them. I am guessing some sort of composite panel?
Awesome vid, glad you're recovering after a but of illness. I'm sure this is the vehicle that ASPW built up and never used, Great to see it being used for what it was built for. The Kruger is Stunning as always and good enough reason to come back to SA and see other beautiful places.
Thanks so much for the feedback. Yes it is Andrews Africa 105 build... seemed like a great opportunity when it came up for sale... unfortunately we didn't realise it would take us so long to finally use it. Can't wait to get to SA and Nambia again. Cheers
Those elephants 😍
I know right!!!!🥰
hope you enjoy your trip and probably not a good idea to ever go back to South Africa - be safe.
We did.... yes South Africa has its challenges but its still a beautiful country
🦒🦒🦒🦁🦁🦁 Awesome video guys... great details shared!
Thank you 🤗. Glad you liked it.
G'day Troopy Doc. Good to see someone talking straight and calling these products and industries out. BTW, I did the CAC score test after your warning. Results very very good, 23 to be exact. My G.P. is now a fan of yours. Thanks again .
G'Day Luke. That's unreal that you got it done and I'm very happy for you that the score is low. That very pleasing. I love it that you've told your GP about me too. Hopefully he'll jump on board and start scanning more people at risk Cheers and thanks for the positive feedback, really appreciate it.

One of the best fitouts ever...simple, and functional...love how you've tailored it to your needs without doing the $20k install, but still have all the important basics. I like that you've bucked the current trend and incorporated a good sized sink...do you have a grey water tank, or does the outflow go to a bucket under the truck?
Thanks for your great feedback. We do love the setup because it is simple and extremely functional. We have thought about changing it up but have realised there is no point as it works so well the way it is. We think a sink is an absolute must. We were even thinking about doing a quick video about this because we also can't believe how many of these new flash set ups people are putting in without a sink... just makes no sense to us. Regarding the grey water, we collect it in a bucket. We carry a 2 collapsable buckets, the second for freshwater for showering or doing the dishes outside which is rare. Cheers P&E
@@fritzintroopy Great, thanks for the reply...I'm doing a fitout now, and have always wanted a sink and running water inside, as I wont be just chasing the fine weather and living outside under the awning. Your missus' comment about being able to do teeth was the clincher. Also being able to rinse a cup or wash hands and face without facing a storm would be worth it. I would never pee in the sink in the middle of a freezing stormy nite tho! 🤫 Seeing the cara sized sink in yours has locked it in for my build too...just gotta work out how to do it so it functions just as well in doors, as it does when I'm out doors....wait, I hear an idea coming on...!
@@omniversling good luck with it all! Get a bottle with a large opening for the night time pee... that's what we do
@@fritzintroopy TBH I cant find a bottle with a big enough opening...so I'm using a bucket! 😆
Thanks doctor I skipped my sugar intake couple of years ago (still early 40s) Now I am thinking to give up alcohol altogether (just trying) My next step is taking a sodastream machine in my troopy to replace ice cold beer in the camp
nice one mate... all good changes
ممتاز استمر انا الان اتبع نظام الوجبه الوحده وترك جميع المواد التي بها سكر عمل جيد
that's great... I hope its working well for you
Great video. unfortunately unless you have the knowledge of this stuff it almost impossible to tell what has sugar and what hasn't...
Exactly mate... have to stay alert and read the labels. Cheers
wait until you get to Morocco, Iran and Saudi and start drinking their tea, that's what I thought you were making at the start of the video
hahaha.... I can imagine! Ive heard they love a sweet chia! cheers
Thx for sharing! As the Dad of a type 1 diabetic I read all those labels daily. Those labels are scary! The higher the carbs/sugar the more insulin we have to dose! Reducing sugar intake is a healthy choice long term for anyone.😃
Intermittent fasting works wonders.
It certainly does for a lot of people. Cheers
GREAT VIDEO, PEOPLE REALLY NEED TO WAKE UP TO THESE SNEAKY FOOD COMPANIES, BECAUSE MOST OF THE SHITE THEY HAVE ON THE SUPERMARKET SHELVE IS , WELL .....CRAP!!
Absolutely!! Sugar is one of the 3 main ingredients found in most processed foods the other two being highly processed white flour and processed seed/vegetable oils. The combination of these three in most of shelf stable foods is the main cause of global health crisis. Best to avoid all of this crap and just stick to eating real food.
That hit home! Great video! I'll always remember you calling a can of soda: diabetes in a can!
Thanks Nor!!! Oh hell yes. I forgot about diabetes in a can. Love it.
Information thanks mate
Cheers mate. Every bit counts

Hi Graeme, The solar panels have been great. No issues since we had these new ones installed. They were mounted using this product www.solar4rvs.com.au/fixtech-fix8-structural-silicone-300ml-cartridge-w and the panels were from the Solar4rvs. cheers
