i know a lot of people associate the meaning with human greed but i think it can also be about the internet, people started slowly at first, there were rumored to be great things on it, and eventually youtube, instagram, stuff like that, and everyone was climbing on top of each other for more fame at the cost of others. now a new generation is starting which is what i perceive at 4:02, gen Z is growing "old" and having kids and starting the cycle again with gen alpha discovering the internet and clambering over fame. this was probably a very minor thing at the time of the writing of this song but i feel it gets truer every second
i feel like this song is about drugs and drug addiction. everything is falling apart, everyone is dying, but it doesn't matter as long as they get that sweet, sweet rainbow rain. also, as an extremely anglophonic interpretation, these guys are literally trying to get high

This could very well be talking about purgatory. The Divine Comedy goes into great detail about purgatory, with it being a great mountain with sections for a soul to destroy their attachment to each of the deadly sins and make it to heaven. This song’s description of climbing the tower to get to a paradise sounds eerily similar. However, i think its deeper than that. The people are using human bodies to build their tower, they are so desperate to get to heaven that they’re using the dead as building materials. This leads me to believe that this song is less about religion, and more about human greed.

I feel like this song is about the extreme lengths people will go through to obtain happiness they don’t not have.....even if it means stepping on the bodies of those who’ve jumped from the tower they created....after figuring out that the promised place of their dreams was only made from false hope.

This could very well be talking about purgatory.
The Divine Comedy goes into great detail about purgatory, with it being a great mountain with sections for a soul to destroy their attachment to each of the deadly sins and make it to heaven. This song’s description of climbing the tower to get to a paradise sounds eerily similar.
However, i think its deeper than that. The people are using human bodies to build their tower, they are so desperate to get to heaven that they’re using the dead as building materials. This leads me to believe that this song is less about religion, and more about human greed.

So long as we're getting Biblical, it could also be a parody of the Tower of Babel. A people who spoke one language and communicated in near unison set their sights on Heaven and challenged God by trying to build a structure that takes them up there. God, then, confused them so that they could no longer understand each other (the Biblical origin of how foreign languages became foreign.)
Even now with our differences in cultures, languages, and religions, humanity has continued to build upwards. Walls, Skyscrapers, Domes, all paid for with human blood as well as Herculean Effort. And for what? For Decay, Ruin, and Destruction. Nonetheless, humanity continues this cycle because the desire to finish what we started is in our nature to fulfill.
