    I accept that in the next world we will all have perfect Union. No problem for me. What is a mystery for me is Jesus calls Mary his mother and God the father His Father even today when he speaks to mortals on earth. So I can’t imagine my children not thinking of me as their mother or me not acknowledging my husband who brought me so much closer to God. I gave my life on this earth for these people and for the glory of God. I don’t need to mother or have an earthly marriage with the man (husband) who made me a seeker of Jesus but I want that reunion and knowledge of how they helped me in this world. I can’t image not being a mother or the once spouse of my husband. Relationships are instrumental in attaining Heaven and my gratitude would seem to be eternal. So don’t call it Marriage, okay but God put these souls in my life for reasons to attain Union with all souls and God. I’m okay that for me this is another mystery, but it seems since Mary continues to teach us how to please her son that I will call my son a son of mine. Hope you can muddle though my poorly explained thoughts. To think otherwise would to me seem utterly pointless that I married or had children.

    • @Metateller
      @Metateller Год назад +1

      According to my understanding of this particular teaching, it seems that you of course will remember your family and the memories and the relationships you all had in your passing through mortal life, and they in turn will also remember and be aware of all that.
      The thing is that some of the notions that you currently posses about your relation to your husband and children is based on your experience as a finite, mortal, sinful being. The roles that you and your family (and everyone of us, really) hold and play out are shaped by this fallen world we currently live in. In haven and the world to come all of this imperfect, sinful factors will be no more. So what I think Dr. Pitre is point toward when he is referring to a perfect communion with Christ through which there will be a perfect communion with everyone else, is that although you will have awareness of the relationships you forged in your last life, the connection, closeness, love and care that you felt back then will be seem meaningless to the amount of love you will feel-not only to the people you originally met in your mortal life and have now reunited with in eternal life, but to absolutely every soul that is now sharing alongside you the everlasting bliss and glory of the Lord.
      So, if I'm not wrong, you will remember them and they will remember you, but what you once felt for them and them for you will be but a snippet of a fraction of what you will experience together with your fellow children of God in the kingdom to come.

    • @levrai944

      Couldn’t have explained it better than the first comment. I would also add that, if you think about the “hypothetical possibility” emphasis on hypothetical; think about if some of your children were damned or your husband. You would be separated from them for eternity and there would be no union with them whatsoever. So you should rejoice in the fact that in Heaven you would be perfectly united to them. Even though you wouldn’t share the same relationship as you currently do here on earth. If the were to be damned you wouldn’t have that relationship with them any way and it would be over forever. But in Heaven that relationship would be elevated and perfected.

    • @CatholicProductions
      @CatholicProductions  7 лет назад

      There may be a scenario where we will do a quarterly pro-ration, but it won't be an exact pro-ration. The best price/rate for the time one will have access to the videos/transcripts/mp3's, etc. would be to do it as early on in the year as possible (with the discounted rate right now being at $99). The regular price will be $125 starting in a couple of weeks or less. So, to answer your question directly, there are no plans to do a pay per individual video option at this time, but there *may* be something similar to a pro-rated amount (though it would be more expensive rate wise than to have simply subscribed from the beginning of the year) on a quarterly basis moving forward once we hit quarters 2, 3, and 4 of the liturgical year.

    🤔If procreation is necessitated by death, why then did our first parents get the mandate to make a family, multiply and fill the earth even before they sinned and obviously before death entered our age?
    Ref (Gen 1: 22 and 2:28)

    • @noblekuz4760
      @noblekuz4760 2 года назад

      @Martin Patrick I am a Catholic. Since the Church has no definitive stance on the interpretation, I am just curious about know how far this can be stretched.
      I have always pondered over these passages and Im more convinced of the position that, Physical death is an inevitable part of our existence in time and space. Spiritual death which is the eternal seperation of our souls is what we inherited due to sin. So obviously Adam and even didnt fall dead physically but spiritually got divorced from God. Our blessed Mother, who never sinned, also finished the physical life here (slept/died) and got assumed.
      Ones there is aging and babies dont remain toddlers, we have to exit this space anyway.. but sin prevented us from being assumed at the end of life here. There is more i think about this.. but cant share it all in the comments… Peace🙏🏾

    In Luke 20:36 Jesus states one of the reasons for no more marrying is because the saved resurrected can’t die anymore but will be like the angels in heaven. The contrast to angels is not sexual desire, He contrasted mortality with immortality. Marry meant the male proposing for the woman to be his wife and being given in marriage meant the father giving her to the proposer. It’s customs to be married, not marriage itself. Adam and Eve were married without marrying or being given in marriage. The reason for the Sadducee's question was that the levirate law required a woman to marry the next oldest brother of her husband if he died without children. They thought if the woman hadn’t fulfilled the purpose of that law, she would still need to be married to all the brothers or they’d be sinning. If she did that, she and the men would commit polygamy which is also a sin, so to avoid sin, God wouldn’t resurrect everyone forever. They thought all of God's laws would be needed in a renewed world, not knowing that the reason for recreating is to restore creation to before those laws were needed. Keeping marriage does not contradict Jesus’s answer to the Sadducees because the woman they asked about is only required to marry any of those men with the levirate law. The law ending does not forbid her from being married to a different man. It's a false dilemma. Jesus’s mention of not being able to die would make no sense unless he only meant legal customs to marry because death is not a reason for marriage. It says in Revelation 20:6 that those who are awakened in the first resurrection won’t suffer for eternity. These are the same people in the prophecy in Isaiah 65:17-25. If Jesus said that those worthy to attain the age of the resurrection won’t marry or be given in marriage and are also said to continue being married and reproducing, that’s proof that Jesus only meant legal marriage customs will be gone. Would any of the people who heard Jesus answer been amazed at it if he meant sexuality would be eliminated? I’m pretty sure Jews had as much sexual desire as most other people, so would have despaired if that was the context.
    At the beginning of creation, God said for us to be fruitful and multiply with no indication it was to ever stop. There would need to be a bigger earth to fit all physical beings that have ever lived by the time of the resurrection. God expands the entire universe. doing the same to any planet shouldn't conflict with his plans. Marriage was the only thing God said is not good to be without before creating it. After Eve was made and brought to Adam, it says for this reason shall people be united with a spouse to become one flesh. Jesus repeats this in Matthew 19:4-5 and Mark 10:6-7 and Paul does in Ephesians 5:31. “For this reason” means it’s the only reason. Reproduction and representing God’s relationship are not reasons stated anywhere in scripture. If gender remains, so does marriage. If Jesus’s answer meant no one will be married, then it contradicts us being male and female being the reason for marriage, and God's promise to restore all creation in Acts 3:21 and 24:15, 2 Peter 3:13, Romans 8:20-23 and 32 and other prophecies. After God made marriage, He called everything very good. The beginning conditions of the creation don't need improving because God doesn’t change.
    Many Christians have claimed that something unspecified would be needed to make life better forever and would also make sexuality useless, ignoring the fact that marriage was something needed for creation to not be missing anything good. It's contradictory and more akin to Buddhism than Christianity. If having something better is a reason to eliminate sex, it's a reason to eliminate everything God made, and we should all just feel God's presence, getting joy from that and never doing anything else for eternity. If simply having a sinless relationship with God makes marriage useless, then God would have had no reason to create gender and sex, because God had the kind of relationship with Adam and Eve that people will have with Him in the renewed creation. If God eliminated sexuality then the distinguishing shapes of the gender's faces, body shapes for sexual attraction, parts used for sexual pleasure, and reproduction would all be wasted. Gender having other functions is no reason to get rid of any of them. They're all part of what makes us the genders we are and God doesn’t create anything expendable. The human female figure is shaped the way it is to fit babies during birth, and sperm, egg cells, and wombs are used only for reproduction.
    If Jesus’s answer to the Sadducees meant no one will be married anymore, no one can be married to Jesus as a replacement. God is described as a husband to people in Hosea 2:7, Isaiah 45:5, Jeremiah 31:32, Ezekiel 16:8, and other Old Testament texts. That didn’t replace marriage either, because they’re analogies just as the wife of the lamb is in Revelation. They are different types of relationships that fulfill different desires. If marriage is a representation of Jesus’s relationship with the church, then people would have to have sinned so Jesus would have to redeem us. God is not going to create something that requires what He hates.
    If you are made unable to care about something you're passionate about, it's manipulation of free will. Sin is a selfish way to try satisfying a desire, that makes us less satisfied afterward. Removing sin doesn’t manipulate free will. That's not the same as removing a basic desire for any sensation. They think that since they don’t think of the joy that would be gone from losing that passion for eternity, that wanting to keep something God said wasn't good to be without is the problem. They're so obsessed simply with being eternally satisfied that they don't know it's only hopeful because it's by restoration of all God made, not a replacement for any of it. That would make anything God made for us irrelevant. There's a book all about the joy of sexuality: Song of Songs, and doesn’t imply that marriage is useless without reproduction. There’s no bible book devoted to the joy of any other creation. Heaven isn’t the final destination, it’s the renewed earth. The only thing that needs to be gone is what sin did.

    Considering this particular verse is the un-acknowledged ‘stumbling block’ for all non Catholics from accepting (even at this information and globalization age) the Gospel of eternal life entrusted to the Holy Catholic Church, I wish to express a few thoughts to encourage them into using the Way offered to us, rather than believing in any of their pet “speculative theologies” (be it protestantism, paganism, islamism, atheism, naturalism etc).
    You first seek God, then you will know the omnipotence and love of God to mankind. After all, God is the only reality and everything we enjoyed here is His gift, then how much more he bestow on us in the heaven (new world) for His victorious people? Even in the the worst case scenario, we can simply ask Him whatever we desire by prayers as He is our father! Rest assured ‘even if’ there is no marital joy, the joy of the heaven must be such that we may never even know that we missed something.
    So all non Catholics, first make sure you are on the way to attain eternal life.
    Protestants: can you now imagine the awkwardness of all of us living in marital bliss while Jesus remain as a bachelor ( simply because of no ‘eligible’ spouse) in your scheme of second coming?

    This teaching is erroneous also. He who has attained to Life in Christ is no more flesh but spirit. He is a new creation and in that new creation, there is a new heaven (the mind of Christ) and a new earth (the body incorruptible). He who is spirit is hidden in Christ who is Spirit and as such he mortifies (denies) the deeds of the flesh as did Jesus for whosoever walks in the flesh dies but whosoever walks in the spirit dies not though the flesh falls away, the life remains.

    Absolutely wrong. The "This Age" that Jesus and other Hebrews talked about was the old covenant age (the age before AD70, when the City and Temple were desolated, per Daniel). Most Hebrews knew that the "age of Messiah" (the new covenant) came after the old. But they obviously thought it was a physical Kingdom, with observation (not as Jesus has stated: "without observation"). In Paul's lifetime, the new was coming in while the old was fading away. The Leverite laws were pertinent to the Old Covenant, since this is how "sons of God" were created-via the flesh. Under the new covenant, there would be no need to give a women in marriage, because sons of God were born from above, as Jesus said to Nicodemus, the teacher of Israel-who was thinking after the old ways of the flesh, not in the ways of the Kingdom, which was to be within each of us-as Jesus so plainly declared.

      Unfortunately the only reality is God and our duty is to know what He is up for. There is a way!

      Beholding the Face of God isn’t like looking at my face, or your friends face. It’s a term to mean seeing God as He truly is, and not through a veil like some can see Him here in our world. It’s beholding the Infinite God, Beauty Itself, Being Itself, the awe of being in the presence of the Divine Creator. The total fulfillment of desire, happiness, longing, the total fulfillment of love.

    Just take into consideration to whom Jesus was speaking. Now, go read the laws of marriage in the Old Testament. This isn't rocket science, people. Plus, this was just a set-up question by the Sadducee
    s who didn't believe in the resurrection of the dead. Geez, read you Bibles!!
    smh

    You say marriage and procreation was/is only meant for this world due to it being a fallen world due to sin. However God told Adam & Eve to procreate BEFORE the fall, and they were married as well. This was the original design before sin. This is a big contradiction. Also as another commenter stated, this completely contradicts Isaiah where it speaks of children. Based on what you're saying, God is going to completely redesign his original creation of humans by changing our anatomy?? If we are to believe there will be no marriage, sex or children, that must mean God will remove all reproductive & sexual organs, hormones, functions etc, etc, from the bodies of males and females. How will we keep our gender if He does that? We can't, that's why it doesn't make sense. Just as it doesn't make sense He will do away with marriage and procreation, which He called "Good" before the fall. Your message is quite disturbing to many, especially widows and those who were never able to have relationships and children on this earth. I hope you will reply, but I doubt it. This teaching makes no sense at all.

      This guys answer is almost cookie cutter answer that theologians such as Dr. Pitre like to use when they don't do their homework themselves. lol

      @Mallory Jackson - You say; " If we are to believe there will be no marriage, sex or children, that must mean God will remove all reproductive & sexual organs, hormones, functions etc, etc, from the bodies of males and females. How will we keep our gender if He does that?"
      Adam and Eve had sexual organs, but it seems in their state of innocence they may have been unaware of their functions(Genesis2:25, Genesis3:7, Genesis3:10-11) etc. They may not have had any desire to procreate prior to the fall because of their lack of concupiscence. God also tells the animals to, 'be fruitful and multiply,' in Genesis1:22, but they wouldn't have understood him unless they were given some supernatural ability to.
      Remember also that God knew that Adam and Eve would fall _before_ their creation, so when he tells them also, 'be fruitful and multiply,' in Genesis1:28, if he did mean it in the procreative sense, this could have been because of his prior knowledge of their fall.
      I believe it's taught that one of the preternatural gifts that Adam and Eve would have enjoyed had they not fallen was immortality, so there would have been no need for them to procreate had they not fallen.

      @@Sean-lv6fx There are significant problems with your interpretation, such as that it’s all guesses and ignores the fact that if God designed something that he called good, but required people to ruin the good condition for one of its functions, he would be contradicting himself. It states nowhere in the Bible that death is a reason for reproduction. God created other beings to love them, because he’s a three in one being who’s personal and wants more of that type of relationship. It wouldn’t make any sense for Gods eternal plan to involve multiple people in a community if reproducing is dependent on death. They saw that they were naked means they were concerned about it after they sinned, because now they corrupted the good nature of their nudity and sexuality. Death was dependent on Adam and Eve having sinned. They were already immortal, or it wouldn’t have made a difference to warn them not to eat the forbidden fruit if they could have died anyway. Creation wasn’t very good until God created marriage, and it was the only thing God said wasn’t good to be without before creating it. Song of Songs is all about marriage and sexual passions, and teaches nothing about needing to reproduce or die for marriage to be necessary. The purpose of marriage is for the sexually passionate intimacy of itself, and After the first meeting of Adam and Eve it explicitly states that for this reason shall people be married and become one flesh with each other.
