- A look around the "capital" of the Scilly Isles. Hugh Town is a pretty little town set between two beaches and a fortified headland. There's plenty to see here with lots of history, scenic vistas and obviously, beautiful beaches.
Thanks for sharing this. For somebody living in Birmingham this might as well be on another planet! Looks beautiful
Really enjoyable video of these special islands - no music or quirky camera angles - thank you. I live far away now but would love to see the other islands - St Agnes and Samson being two of my favourites.
Thanks. I've got some great footage of St Agnes, Tresco and the rest of St Mary's which I will be adding at some point soon.
Great video. I really want to visit the Islands at least once before I die.
Used to live on St Martin's till 1987. Had to leave as couldn't get anywhere to live . Too expensive to buy just things you need . Do miss the place and haven't been back . Would love to visit my friends grave to show my respect .
I love the Isles of Scilly, a very special place for me...
Wonderful childhood memories of summer holidays here. On a sunny day, it takes some beating. Thanks for the tour!
Definitely a special place. Only started going over when I was a grown up but hopefully my kids will think this...
Ez gyönyörű!
What a wonderful social history of Hugh Street, a street i have happily walked along many times.
I was there in June 1987 on my honeymoon staying at the Wheelhouse on Porthcressa Beach and we visited for subsequent holidays for a number of years afterwards.
The islands and it's people are a unique part of the British Isles. Such natural beauty in a small area. May they always they stay that way.
Yes, unique and beautiful. Happily one of the few places that hasn't become a victim of its own charm - hopefully it will remain this way too.
Looks beautifulxx
It is! Definitely worth a visit even if it's only a day trip.
Great video
Thank you. Was a pleasure making it.
Hardly any war damages anymore from the Dutch Scilly war, amazing how quickly reconstruction was after 335 years of intense conflict
Beautiful video footage; what kind of steady camera was used?
Thanks. For this one I used the DJI Pocket.
Really nice, like a hobbit place. A small paradise. Loved the video.
Yep, definitely hobbits on the Scillies!
Can't believe how much traffic there was on a tiny island! Nonetheless, a seriously beautiful place. Must film a bike ride there when I'm next down! John
Yes, lots of cars and golf buggies around Hugh Town. Rest of the island is pretty quiet though. Hired bikes and went off for the afternoon one day and it was great. Surprisingly hilly though...
Found my first love there in 1973 although I dident marry her were still in touch today
Only one ATM working ..bring Cash👍🏴
everywhere takes contactless there now, though, as in the rest of the UK. Even many of the honesty boxes do.
Much cheaper to fly another 1500miles to the Canaries.
I love canaries , just got back from lanzarote 3 weeks ago, paradise
Expensive , bring plenty of cash
You're not wrong there.
Awful kem trayled sky.
British naming skills are amazing.
Who would have guessed that U.K had a Sicilian wannabe?
This place is only suitable for old folks. Pretty much nothing to do if you're young, the only enjoyment you're going to find is getting wasted at some pub, and trust me, everything is expensive.
