Drama Kings of HoTD: Daemon and Caraxes. I just love how Caraxes always pops up from nowhere after Daemon finishes his dramatic speech and they just stare down. Generaly they have such good conection
I've always liked the idea that the Dragons have almost identical personalities to their first riders they bonded with. Makes alot of sense when you consider how similar Caraxes and Daemon are, but compare that to say Aemond and Vhagar, who's relationship seems more like Vhagar is only allowing Aemond to ride her but they don't seem as linked as Daemon and Caraxes.
In the beginning of the episode you can see how Rheanyra’s & Daemons connection to their dragons are not rational but emotional (her still birth and Daemon’s loyalty test the dragons reacted to their emotional states) It would so seem that A dragon rider should not worry about ruling the dragon but ruling themselves Aemond’s rage and Lucaerys fear is what the dragons reacted to and thus the tragic outcome.
@@Oakland510 it’s never mentioned anywhere that Daemon is a Dragonlord. And while Targaryen’s are considered a Dragonlord house they were not a very powerful one and lacked much of the sorcery and relics used by the true Dragonlords of the freehold. It's great how they show the level of control different characters have over their dragons. While daemon and rhaenys use their dragons as if they were extensions of themselves characters like luce and aemond still have very little control over their dragons.
none of them have control. it's an illusion. They listen to them to an extent. It's more like they are bond with their riders and they can feel whatever they feel
I think Luke didn't have much control over Arrax because of the circumstances, it was storming and Arrax and Luke were both terrified so the dragon acted in self-defense and Vhagar is the one of the oldest dragons and has went through battle A LOT so I feel she has more of a mind of her own
@@jordanzdebski5132 yeah exactly i'd say some riders who have a stronger bond with their dragon has more control / their dragon feels what their rider feels more which allows the dragon to act in the best interest of its rider
What's that old Viserys saying "the idea that we control the dragons is an illusion". When you controlled one dragon, like we seen many times, it's different, it's like training one dog. But what Viserys is saying is when there's more them one dragon, either when they are nipping at each other or fighting, then you are at their mercy. It's like holding one dog on a lease, the dog is fine, another dog comes, and they're both barking at each other, and Arrax was that other dog, he didn't like being chased and intimidated by a bigger dragon, and Vhagar doesn't like a little dragon spitting fire at her, so it's like 2 dogs going at each other while the owners are pulling and tugging on their leashes.
"Tf is that?!" by Daemon was hillarious and honestlly most of the people reactions to that paper scene. No one cared at that point And "I would rather feed my sons to the dragons than have them carry shields and cups for your drunken usurper cunnt of a king" is iconic line now lol

What Rhaenyra went through in one day is more convincing as a descent to madness than what Daenerys did. But I guess it doesn't matter now. Happy to see the bar flooded again like the old days. 😊😏😏
Lol is it fuck. Dany, who was sold and beaten for most of her early life by her brother - then her husband and baby were both murdered - then when she finally got home, a place where she dreamed of being was met sheer hatred. Her dragons were killed, her loyal protector died in her arms, Jon rejects her, the north rejects her after she saved them. Then her best friend is beheaded in front of her....... Yeah Rhae hasn't suffered anywhere near what Dany did.
Kind of. Rhaenyra isn't mad...yet. She indeed suffers more than anyone should if life were fair, but, these incidents are the precursor. Something else....happens and that is what breaks her. Daenerys was gradual as well. She didn't just flip in episode five. Keep in mind since coming to Westeros Dany lost Viserion, Jorah, Rhaegal and Missandei. That's a lot. Also keep in mind that Rhaenyra has a support system and as those around her dwindle in numbers, so does her sanity. Daenerys lost the little she had almost overnight. This is why I say that people saying Daenerys would never do what she did are missing the point a bit because honestly, how would we know? That theory was never tested. When the chips are down and you have nothing left to lose sometimes the worst thing you can think of is the very thing you do.
@@janellejulianajoy No one serious says Daenerys wouldn't have done the things she did at the end. There is also a lot more that is wrong with the final season but I don't want to get into that here.
@@GreenFalcon926 I think the issue is the way the screenwriters made it happen. It didn't FEEL convincing, even if it could have based on previous events throughout the series. Whereas this episode is written SO well, that everything feels justified in playing out the way it does.

That might be what, besides Emma's acting, makes that scene so great. When you flip it back to episode 3, the men were cheering at war and battle and death in larger score than the women in the bar, who seemed entertained but had a hard time swallowing the gore. It's crazy to think they can watch a man get cut in two with a sword easier than they can watch a woman give birth, but both sides can be intrigued and empathize after everything we went through with Rhaenyra. A lot of the men winced and cringed, but I think the bravest of the bunch didn't dare to look away. The girls didn't blink. This is why crowd stuff like this is so cool imo

Daemon was on fire this episode, he was on auto pilot, ready to retake the throne for his family. He was awesome. Rhaenyra was also flawless. Her strength, resilience, restraint, and poise. Definitely the ruler, the realm needs. Both together, perfect balance to run the Kingdom. Unfortunately, their first task is to fend off a coup, and of course they find each other at odds. Under more normal circumstances, I have no doubt they would work it out behind closed doors, but the level of stress, tension, grief, anger; it’s just too much. Under this circumstances I believe Daemon is more experience and he is correct about having to be swift and merciless with people like Otto and Alicent. He doesn’t care about prophecies. Rhaenyra, on the other hand, should find more resolve to fight for her claim, knowing that only she carries that prophecy.

@asgkasgasi I don't know if they will make his connection to Sunfyre that deep though, they literally have never shown him with this dragon and only ever showed him to be a drunken rapist, his coronation was the perfect time to show it and yet they wasted an opportunity on a senseless scene with Rhaenys. Also Aegon was perfectly fine with just sailing away never to be seen again and leave Sunfyre in the dust.
@asgkasgasi let's also consider that GRRM said that this series needs at least 5 (6?) Seasons in order to tell the whole Dance of the Dragons story. I think we'll get to see the war from the perspective of all the different players. Not just Targaryen and Hightowers. It would be such a waste otherwise. GOT showed it from all angles and it really brought the world to life
I thought Daemon choking Rhaenyra was a brilliant and deliberately shocking way to highlight the idea that Dragons are never fully tame. Daemon is 100% Targaryen, a dragon in human skin. His blood and bone is fire and chaos made flesh. I feel Rhaenyra understands this because she doesn’t admonish him or scream for help. Shes not even angry. She’s just surprised that Daemon knew nothing about the Song of Ice & Fire and likely understands for Daemon the fact that his brother didn’t consider him a truly worthy successor is a festering wound on his soul that no sane person should poke. I just feel it’s a deeper moment than just an abusive act.
facts!! and I think the only person that Daemon loves is Viserys, and he felt betrayed by the fact that Viserys never consider him as a *true heir* and a targaryen dream prophecy. Since Daemon is all about the great of house of dragon. I swear to seven gods if daemon and viserys have sister, daemon would marry her, dude loves his brother so much, imagine a sister. If you recall, you can see Daemon repeated the phrase that Viserys told Rhaenyra *Dreams didn't make us kings, Dragons did.* He tried to one up Rhaenyra there, but Rhaenyra knew damn well that she got one up on him by saying *he never told you*
I Agree but also thought it was to express his anger at how he thinks Rhaenyra was showing signs of being as weak as Viserys at such a crucial time. Hes angry that she's even considering accepting the Greens terms especially since she finally has the crown he always wanted but can't have yet she may just give it up. Plus he also thinks they killed his brother. Despite everything he still loved his brother and was enraged Most of this episode thinking they killed him. So it can also be thought that her considering peace is her ignoring his brother and her father being "killed". There was a lot of a lot of emotion behind wahat he did and while it wasnt right, it was a good scene showing his rage at both her and the situation. Its like he wanted to force out Visery's mindset from her.
@@ninjastorm540 I think CapLuke and you both are right. To me Rhaenyras is making the same mistakes as Viserys where they're trying to rule with kindness and being political when Otto already wants them dead even if they bend the knee. Daemon IS the best war leader they have and as much as people might not like his methods, they're incredibly effective as we've seen before. Now his son died and Rhaenyra totally throws it all away to do what Daemon wanted to do to begin with. Except she is fueled by rage while Daemon is always very calculative. It was Rhaenyras orders that got her son killed. Sending him all alone really ? How naive can you be ? Daemon has always been the only one in that family that saw the Hightowers for what they are. Something I've noticed that's very subtle is that the Targaryens (most obviously Daemon) act almost inhuman sometimes in their behavior. Not necessarily "evil" but just.. strange. They act a bit like dragons themselves. They're almost like a different race. It's a nice touch.
So far except for Daemon, Targaryens have been pretty soft! Daemon gone to madness, ready to wage war after finding out his brother's passing & the rebellion of greens while rhaeneyra refused with this bloodbath idea due to aegon's prophecy shared by his father. She grew up carrying the knowledge of duty that she has to unite and protect the realm in peace. A queen with bigger responsibilities and to set aside first her personal ambitions. Unfortunately, luke's tragic death was her last straw.
The fact that I'm annoyed watching the clip from yesterday. Imagine the people at the bar being with her for the whole entire episode. 😒 I prefer the regular watchers from early episodes not that I hate that the bar is full packed. Hehe
"Clear the room". YAS QUEEN!! I just loved how they were building up for girl boss moment but switched it to show that Daemon is still a petulant and vicious asshole who will use violence to get what he wants. The mood in the room completely switched.

A usurpadora da Rhaenyra nem luta com o seu Dragão
none of them have control. it's an illusion.

I think they were surprised because they thought Daemon was going to be a bitch and take a lecture from Rhaenyra. Lol. Not going to happen, Daemon will put anyone in their place.
He did that to his other wife tho. He never loved her. He does love Rhaenyra and he was never violent towards her, so yeah it doesn't make sense.
It l00ks cruel, but Rhae pr0p0ses t0 surrender t0 Aeg0n the usurper and that really made Daem0n angry as hell. D0 y0u kn0w why Daem0n lashed at the KL criminals? @@mannylugz5872 So Daemon's plan is to make the realm burn rather than surrender her crown to his nephew, eh?
And no, Viserys is weak not because of Otto, but because of him specifically. Every man has their own ambition, like what Daemon did here. If he was a "good" guy, he wouldn't have groomed Rhaenyra, but instead groomed her properly to RULE.
Why are people clapping when the dead baby came out ?? I mean, wtf 😂
Yeah bunch of weirdos
I think a lot of them are pro abortion so they are excited to see dead babies
I think they expected the baby to be alive, so they cheered for rhaenyra for getting the baby out. But I agree maybe they should not have clapped if they don't know what's gonna happen next. We already learned this in GOT when clapping lmao 😅
"Aegon has the conquerors name, the conqueror sword, the conquerors crown" but yet he is not the conqueror...Otto.
"Stale Oaths will not put you on the Iron Throne Princess" but yet their oaths remain and they have more dragons. Deep down Otto has to know he is a traitor, right? He swore a oath regardless of what the lords think the succession should be like.
Soon the old alliance of the Starks, Tullies and arryns will come
The Baratheon oath did not remain. Joffrey already told us how things ends in Game of Thrones, unfortunately. Even before "Fire and Blood" was written it was spoiled.

Great to see how the number of folks in the bar continued to grow each episode!
Something I've noticed that's very subtle is that the Targaryens (most obviously Daemon) act almost inhuman sometimes in their behavior. Not necessarily "evil" but just.. strange. They act a bit like dragons themselves. They're almost like a different race. It's a nice touch.
I think that it wouldn't be crazy to call valyrians a different race. The way they look, the magic, the dragons. They are very unique people.
Who’s acted weird besides daemon?
They are a different race. They are Valyrians.
@@Oakland510 Aemond, Aegon, Rhaenyra and many more Targs before and after them
@@ken-yo2hz how has rhaenyra been weird
So far except for Daemon, Targaryens have been pretty soft! Are things about to change…
I liked that we saw Aemond’s usual full confidence get taken down a notch, probably since the day he lost his eye. It was unexpected to see him lose control over his dragon that he so proudly managed to ride and claim.
Decades of peace will make you soft.
Yup, it's full of whitewashed motivations, which is annoying tbh. Very few characters have agency on what they wanted to do. It's all "oh I did this cuz of this, and not because I truly wanted to", or some "oopsie" situations, it was so weird. I hope they fixed that on Season 2.
@@airwaters yes! I am looking forward to see how things will play out and if Aemond will say, it wasn’t on purpose and he lost it (which I am sure no one will believe except his mother maybe) or if he will let everyone believe that he did it on purpose to maintain a reputation.
Actually, this is what life is about and former GOT was. A bunch of decisions or circumstances from certain characters and others are going plainly and blindly into war thinking what happened was because of someone else.
They were all shocked when he grabbed her neck like they forgot that he killed his other wife a few episodes ago
People really forget that scene and assume Daemon choking her is bad writing and out of character. No you dummy, he's the Rogue Prince, and he's pissed Rhaenyra is fight for a dream he could never understand.
@@atToebiscuit Except it is out of character because while Daemon heavily disliked his first wife and saw her as nothing but an obstacle so being violent towards her is not that hard for him, we also saw him with three other women in this show that he actually had genuine care for and never not once was violent towards them, the women being Mysaria, Laena, Rhaenrya. When will people recognize that there is a difference between Rhea, and the other women, he couldn't care less about Rhea and THAT'S why it was easy to kill her, he actually cares about Rhaenrya and up until this point has never been violent towards her so this DID come out of nowhere, but honestly I believe he was just too full of rage and the loss of his brother and daughter and then hearing about The greens usurping the crown and putting his and his family's life in danger and THEN on top of that Rhaenrya was actually considering not going to war, I think he just snapped, and didn't know what he was doing until he was doing it honestly.
@@nyeishaclark95 It's not out of character. Daemon is so pissed because he always saw Otto's plan coming but Viserys stopped him from taking action.
Now he feels Rhaenyra is taking the same path as his brother and losing all his respect for her.
@@johnniecinco6698 It is out of character because while I understand why he did it, Daemon has never been shown to be violent towards the people he cares about. But like I said I can understand why he did it and Rhaenrya wasn’t scared or mad about it because she understands as well, but it still came out of nowhere kind of.
I think it's because we all know Daemon is a bad person but his only redeeming qualitiy is that he wouldn't hurt his close family . Him and his ex wife were arranged marriage and they both hated each other wether in the books he never hurt physically Nyra
What Otto didn’t know is the King only passes the knowledge of the Song of ICE and FIRE prophecy and dagger inscription to its heir.

Love how the queen who never was Hillary Targaryen says it wasn’t her war to start like she didn’t kill hundreds of people during her stunning and brave escape in episode nine.
It was just a dew dozens and that was still not enought to start a war. If she did kill everyone on the stage, then she would have ruined House Velaryonn’s name. It wasn’t just Greens sitting on the stage, the High Septon was also there. The religious people in westeros would have seen her as another Maegor for deliberately killing a Septon.

Choke scene : not defending what daemon did, it was fkd up. He was hurt because he realized his brother never trusted him with this secret so that means he never considered daemon as heir. remember he was grieving his brother who he thought was murdered by the hightowers, and his still born child. He loved his brother but hated the way he ruled because it made the enemy stronger and stronger and he saw nyra acting like her father (that’s your father speaking) and he hated that. He was frustrated nyra stopped him from killing Otto because he knows Otto and knows peace is not possible. Nyra was being naive the whole episode and daemon knows that will end in there deaths if they don’t start planning defenses and such like how he was. He was basically telling nyra (in a fkd up way) “Viserys died because he believed in dreams and words and peace when it wasn’t possible, don’t you dare make the same mistake, wake the fk up”.
Same guy that murdered his first wife….
He always hated his first wife. He didn’t choose her and she wasn’t family. You can’t disagree with me because Emma who plays nyra and Ryan condel , came out with interviews explaining that scene already. So nice try
