But you can see at the end the guy in yellow is just sitting there rethinking his life and his choices and realizing that hes not really happy and doing all that shit doesn't help in the end

the musicvideo basically has multiple of those people going through the emotions of the song, heartbroken and at a shitty place trying to cope with those feelings by being crazy (which is where a lot of behavior like that stems from for a lot of people, coping with bad situations) and in the end one of the guys (yellow guy) actually becomes emotionally distant with the group as he probably comes to accept his feelings.
Wouldn’t you also say the red shirt guy, he seems kinda just overwhelmed and lost because of it, while everyone else is doing whatever he’s just zoned out
as somebody who used to be an addict for a long time. and lived a life kind of similar way to the people in the video. there's something about the combination of the music and the video really captures the entire feeling of how empty and sad living like that is. masterful work
i grew up living around people like the people in the video, i can relate because i lived in a house full of addicts and still do, i wasnt an addict myself as i was 9-12 years old when the most chaos happened (im 15 now), but i really like the video. the way many people can relate to it in different situations is great. and i hope you are doing well man
Your mom’s reaction was pretty much how I felt when I saw the video for the first time. I cried ugly. The video has so many visual clues as to the message Joji wants to share. Lost innocence, fear, anger, hopelessness, pride, ego and love. He knew he had love and he let it go. He mourns what he had. He knew he had it good and he mucked it up. God this kid is a musical genius.
The video fits perfectly. It's a beautiful description of what unhealthy coping looks like. Self destruction because the one that kept you together is the one that got away.
I’m of the opinion that the video fits the song perfectly. He could have done his usual music video style with him in a suit but the way he did this music video much more accurately displays the emotions to a real world setting, and the video tells a story within the 3 minutes it rolls.
The imo is about how heartbreak can lead a person to do reckless things just to get over it. He starts having fun at first but the more he does it the more he doesnt want to and the more he misses him. Thats why our main character (guy in the yellow) stops partaking in the recklessness and just stares at the sky or watches. He gets angry with himself, starts to try to better himself, fails, resorts to salvaging the relationship, fails, tries to get back up but just like quicksand, the more you struggle the faster you sink. This song is truly amazing.
The video isn't real. I mean, it's a real video but it's acted out brilliantly. I found a behind the scenes video that was basically just a montage from instagram of them creating the video. Every single person in that video deserves an award
Wooooooow... Ive been wondering where they got the footage. In case it was real, amazing. Being produced and directed, still amazing but for different reasons. This is for sure one of my favorite music videos ever
The purpose or reason behind the video in the background is to show this group of young guys who are unhappy in life, in a bad situation, pulled the short end of the stick, and now they act out, do bad things, etc. to try and mask and hide their true feelings of loneliness and sadness, it is truly heartbreaking. Some speculate Joji when he was FilthyFrank is similar to this, because he was acting all crazy and stuff on the internet to mask how he truly was feeling, and it is reflected in this song and his music in whole.
It's a reflection of depression , heartbreak , anger , hate . A destructive lifestyle that comes along with self hatred . I feel this video , with the song along with it makes it pure art , a reality for alot of us that have a pure hatred towards the world due to our past . In this he is talking about the woman he has lost , his real true love . He goes through other woman trying to fund her again but never will . Love is still there but shrouded in a world of hurt , we don't want to go on but we do and fill our lives with chaos instead , self destruction. I watch this and cry my eyes out because me and my other broken brothers are all there for each other but we're alone , we cry on each others shoulders , we fight we drink and destroy everything around us because that's what our minds have come too , my mind is this video . I hope others that feel like this somehow find there way
I also think the animals living with them despite their living conditions actually shows that they still are soft at heart, going along with how they were able to fall in love in the past and foreshadow how theyre still able to but just not the right way. And they know what caused these heartbreaks and what ruined everything but are just trapped by reality. The only thing they can do is just repeat the same mistakes through violence and anger cuz they know that they cant do anything about it in the right way.
First of all I loved y’all’s reaction, this is by far my favorite joji song video especially because of its found footage format just like ‘Gimme Love’ had. I’m with Mama Taunt on this one crying on my first reaction as well 😭 and the fact that she gave it a 10 is a W for Joji’s music.

U can see the way that the music flows in ur moms mind, and that's a thing that makes my day, seeying somebody actually loving a song, is just beautifull. Ty Taunt. Ty momma Taunt
You can see the difference between perspectives of the two viewers. A young person who hasn't experienced as much heartbreak and someone who has had their fair share of separations.
I’m happy that you have such a comfortable & cool relationship w your mother. Reacting to a song like this together is amazing! Good work you earned a subscriber
What I believe the message of the video is portraying is like we just lose ourselves and try to make ourselves happy in other ways but the thought of it missing that person we just can't stay happy because that person made us so happy, so we lose control thus the out-of-control behavior of those people. Also, theirs a specific part where the person messages the person saying "imissu" Trying to find a distraction but just can't manage to do it.
I lost someone so precious to me 2 years ago. I could never express the pain that I felt by losing her. There were never the right words to describe it. Until I heard this song. The first time I listened to this song, I couldnt stop crying. Because this is how loss and regret feels.
when I saw this, it just seemed as a perspective of what's going on inside my mind and at the same time expresseing a nice warm face to the public. I feel most people do this , great song
The music video shows us what freedom feels like when you're not actually free. When you're in love with someone, you're always tied to something invisible. That something is so strong that it makes you lose all sense of reason. To feel free, the mind does all sorts of weird things, like what you see in the video. It's like knowing you’ve got a week to live, but you try to block out the thought of dying by running around, partying, or doing anything to distract yourself. The truth is, you’re with someone else, but you’re still looking for them in others-and that’s crazy. It’s wild to think about because emotions are so fragile, and how people react to situations is different for everyone. They’re just trying to escape, trying to find something they don’t have-whether it’s through violence, partying, or drugs. And even the way they live shows what they’re going through inside. When you step back and look at how Joji’s journey has evolved, it all starts to make sense. It’s deeper than it first seems.
Honestly the music video explained so much. What he’s going though. Depression, he’s destructive but is still trying to handle it. Sometimes we have to look deeper into things.
The point of the video is to show you that in all his chaos he is only doing it because he is broken by whats happened and how much he misses her.. Its slowly showing his breakdown
This song really represented how joji sometimes felt about his past. Most of the clips form the video are from his last videos (past life). The song and the lyrics showcase how all he feels is regret but at the same time misses the old days.
The music HIGHLY compliments the music to it. His mom understood. The music over the moment. How everyone feels. In our own world as it flashes and goes by. Such hectic life…but the back of our mind and behind our actions is our heart.
I cried when I first heard this song it hit hard on so many levels joji is truly talented beautiful man and the video somehow fit beautifully to the song
The way I interpret the video with the animals in the house is finding beauty in the chaos, he says something about perfect ain’t working so maybe it’s like no matter how hard you try sometimes things just aren’t meant to be and he’s living that reality
The video is about someone doing chaotic things to deal with heartbreak. As the video goes on, it starts to unravel and gets more dramatic. Like for example when you see him messaging her saying that he misses her. Everything leading up to it is basically his way of coping. Drinking, smashing things up, travelling, etc. I was confused as well at first, but then it made sense.
i know a group of guys who actually live like this. they have a lot of fun but are struggling with life. everyone involved with this song and music video deserves a grammy
listen to slow dancing in the dark, ill see you in 40, xnxx, love us again. I think those are some of his best songs. If you want another song with an odd audio/video juxtaposition, try FTC.
It's beautiful though how you're taking such deep note of this video and it does matter when u said maybe you looking into this too deep it's beautiful that you're taking such deep "note"
The video is describing Jojis life before he changed to the man he is now. He lived a chaotic and damaging life and lost everything including his first love because of this life. The song describes that now in his changed life with his new perfect girlfriend she is not the same as his first love and she never will be.
to me the video seems like a circle of self harm without directly harming yourself, yellow knows he's hurting himself but doesnt want to stop so he can flood out his pain and its a dark reality no artist has ever depicted this well before
Personally this song came out at such a time of anxiety and misery. Watching the MV is relatable because doing stupid shit late at night and acting out to stay distracted but on the inside hurting like nothing before especially when we’re alone. We don’t want to show emotion or speak to people at times. Listening to it more and reading the lyrics opens it up more and more.
What i took form the music video is sort of the turmoil you feel inside as you try and cope with the heartbreak of a lost true love. You try and move on, but inside its just them you think of. You replay the happy times, the sad times and the aftermath of your anger
if i remember right, i think they (being joji or i guess maybe a team or smth) filmed almost everything in the mv themselves cause i saw a different video on tiktok of a girl who was feature very briefly in the video saying she was just approached by a guy with a camcorder and asked to just. do things for it so its all basically authetic footage id assume which kinda makes it hit more imo
I took the video and song being at such a contrast as Joji trying to show how someone who might externally look okay publicly, and acting crazy with their friends like nothing is wrong. But the actual song is how that person is feeling internally. It’s like the conflict of coping with a break up trying to not seem weak but feeling completely defeated inside.
This song and video made perfect sense to me the first time I saw it. But it wasnt on a logical level, but more an emotional one. Reminded me a lot of my early 20s actually. Being so depressed and living in the chaos to feel something. Random intense waves of depression. Dissociation. Drugs. Alcohol. I honestly find the darkness in this video beautiful. I dont know what he was trying to capture, but it definitely made me feel it.
Right just a dude doing harmful destructive stuff with his homies to feel the slightest bit of joy to distract himself from the unbearable depression. This song and video is a masterpiece.
Would be great a first listen without stoping and then coming back to specific moments. Your mom was so into the song that she started crying and you broke up that moment. Great video by the way, keep going! ❤️
the MV explanation is pretty obvious to me, it ridiculously goes well with the song. it’s someone dealing with a heartbreak, still loving his ex friend and trying to love the new one, doing the worst bs to feel alive, his mates keep him alive even tho we see him slowly parting from the crew. he hates having to break the new girl heart, he hates having to see the ex everywhere, he hates that he can never move on, he will be broken forever, he creates chaos to forget everything or feeling something else
This year has been and still is the most transformative time in my life. From switching jobs multiple times in 6 months, to bracing my mentality after suicidal thoughts. Hearing this song during this week has been THE most impactful time I have ever had in my life. I love Joji and am glad he is still alive. Not all I loved is still with me today, but I can still be thankful for the inspirations life can give from one to another. I hope one day I can inspire others positively if I have not already. To whomever is reading this and even myself, may love and kindness shine it’s way through all darkness, in mind and in physical form. We can do this. Thank you Joji, my pink guy..
Someone does crazy things and gets free, getting into that whole case. When you find you come back to you, you begin to reason that despite changing and getting involved in all that, you will not be able to remove that feeling inside of you.
No matter how hard these guys seem they still think about love and regret. The antics are usually a release for things like depression and with the wrong ones around it spirals like this. Potentially one of these guys are singing this I'm the back of his head
the video is essentially the guy and his life on the surface (chaotic, fun, adventurous, free) and the lyrics to the song is what's going on in his head. the video shows the contrast of what people show you and portray while feeling something completely different inside. He's depressed, which is why he wakes up late, sits by himself when the car burn(something that's supposed to be a moment with his friends). at some point they even ask if he's okay but he brushes it off and just does pullups instead but he couldn't even bring himself to complete it because he misses her.
If you don't understand the video. You're so lucky. You've never been on that low situation. Your heart never been so broken till you need to be self destruct just to not feeling it. Pardon my English.
I feel like the video portrays how something beautiful can come from utter chaos. Like a juxtaposed perspective on beauty and the inspiration behind it.
If you have lived this type of life of chaos you understand the brotherhood and silent pain that comes with all of it. It may seem to some like the video and song dont match but they really do. For me this song hit very close to home and the video put me right there in that time and moment where my chilldhoood trauma met becoming a man and the destruction, beauty, comraderie, and heartbreak of that feel so captured here.
i think that this is speaking to a larger representation of todays youth, more specifically young men. broken relationships, fatherless homes, no emotional discipline or self control leads to more of this. its a vicious cycle that tears at the very core of young people, where they act out in hopes of finding that direction and discipline to find peace and love that they are afraid to admit they need and too traumatized to try. this song and video perfectly encapsulates this dichotomy that desperately need to be reconciled within those that have never seen healthy communication and mutual effort.
My interpretation of the song is that the people in the music vid are coping with being heartbroken and then being depressed and wanting to have company but at the same time wanting to be alone and joji is relaying it masterfully through the song
The video basically describes the deep broken depressed state a person can be in from pain/trauma. The careless,self-destructive, numbing, not caring of what actions are done or the consequences, the suicidal thoughts , the constant distraction to keep goin but nothing takes your mind away from whats bothering you, like where the camera pans at one of them constantly keeping his head down while squatting. Jojis songs and lyrics always hit when you feel it.
The first time I seen this video I felt an instant connection, some of us are a lot like Frank. That doesn't mean that we don't have a beautiful voice inside, it just means that we weren't meant for this world, but we're here and trying to make the best of it. Possibly we're from the same universe as GWAR
This is more of a or a kind of person someone becomes after losing someone that u imagine a whole life and future with them and it’s u end up dying inside and becoming a monster 😪💔
What I gather from the video is that the main guy had a breakup and has given up on life, he tries to forget by adopting this "live fast die young" lifestyle but on the inside he's still broken and that's why you occasionally see him looking distant, like those are the moments that reality hits him again & it works with the song as that's his "glimpses".
The video is the things you don't see. Back then, you would say you don't wanna believe it unless you have seen it. Now you're more focused on what you hear than what you actually see. Let me give you an example, you're walking on the street and saw a homeless man or woman crying reaching out to you for a little help, but you heard one man say "don't give them anything because they'd do it again and again", and eventually you decided to not really give anything. One day this homeless guy got so hungry he decided to trespass a house to ease hunger, or kidnap for money... they go to jail and some gets death penalty... "i asked for a little help, no one did, i tried reaching out, no one saw me. Now that i did something wrong, they finally see me, but now they see me, they judge me"... if only they knew my pain. No one opened the light for me when everything around me was dark.
This music video correlates with Joji's actual past living conditions, and when he was in such a low low in his life, the light he had was this ex-girl, and now that he is in a better place, and in a better relationship he can't help but wish that the girl he is with now was the one that helped him through those hard times, he keeps looking back in his past relationship and mourns that although he may not be over this girl, we're sure that she is far gone and there's no chance to ever get her back again, but he will always get see glimpse of him and her, even while with his current partner.
Your mom knows it, T_T this song is too powerfull, its my comfort music, he really knows how to hug people's lonelyness and/or past or present hurt with his songs. I think the video relates more a representation of the selfdestruction/chaos it leads after/during a heartbreak, the aimless anger, the hopelessness, the emptyness ...
This video is really perfect for someone like myself that lived a destructive life like they people in the music video. The song with the video makes a lot of sense when you can relate with the lifestyle in that video.
I've listened to the song over 75 times now and I have to say we didn't discuss the lyrics much in this video, mostly cause we we're just blown away by it.

Also, theirs a specific part where the person messages the person saying "imissu" Trying to find a distraction but just can't manage to do it.
I love your mother's reaction. She reminds me of the kind ladies who used to look over me growing up in school
Thank you 😇
I lost someone so precious to me 2 years ago. I could never express the pain that I felt by losing her. There were never the right words to describe it. Until I heard this song. The first time I listened to this song, I couldnt stop crying. Because this is how loss and regret feels.
I feel for you ! ❤️
when I saw this, it just seemed as a perspective of what's going on inside my mind and at the same time expresseing a nice warm face to the public.
The chaos, destruction and craziness after losing someone. I guess that's what the video depicts. Been down that path. That's how im relating it.
You guys are the best! I loved this song too, the video really made it come together for me.
This song really represented how joji sometimes felt about his past. Most of the clips form the video are from his last videos (past life). The song and the lyrics showcase how all he feels is regret but at the same time misses the old days.
Love is the strongest emotion that a human can have. Once it gets broken, we are not human to thyself. We become self destructive.
The music HIGHLY compliments the music to it. His mom understood. The music over the moment. How everyone feels. In our own world as it flashes and goes by. Such hectic life…but the back of our mind and behind our actions is our heart.
Maybe it’s where I grew up but I instantly understood the video
❤️
I cried when I first heard this song it hit hard on so many levels joji is truly talented beautiful man and the video somehow fit beautifully to the song
True ❤️
I have always said this since I heard this: ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SONGS FOR THE BROKEN HEARTS.
The way I interpret the video with the animals in the house is finding beauty in the chaos, he says something about perfect ain’t working so maybe it’s like no matter how hard you try sometimes things just aren’t meant to be and he’s living that reality
I get that , thanks for the info
Your mom is so cool and lovely. I hope to see a lot of Joji Reactions from you guys in the future
Thank you 🥰❤️
The video is about someone doing chaotic things to deal with heartbreak. As the video goes on, it starts to unravel and gets more dramatic. Like for example when you see him messaging her saying that he misses her. Everything leading up to it is basically his way of coping. Drinking, smashing things up, travelling, etc. I was confused as well at first, but then it made sense.
i know a group of guys who actually live like this. they have a lot of fun but are struggling with life. everyone involved with this song and music video deserves a grammy
this is the first song of Joji that I've heard. I didn't know him before that. God, I love this song, such a great work
listen to slow dancing in the dark, ill see you in 40, xnxx, love us again. I think those are some of his best songs.
If you want another song with an odd audio/video juxtaposition, try FTC.
@@Faherd Thank you, I will
@@Aminvtn and watch filthy frank and pink guy nice
the chaos situation present the struggle emotion behind a sad person.
The song describes that now in his changed life with his new perfect girlfriend she is not the same as his first love and she never will be.
you guys has great reactions.
This video makes perfect sense. For those who’ve had a break up. Life becomes chaotic and your life feels ruined
to me the video seems like a circle of self harm without directly harming yourself, yellow knows he's hurting himself but doesnt want to stop so he can flood out his pain and its a dark reality no artist has ever depicted this well before
Personally this song came out at such a time of anxiety and misery.
I feel this song is about him coping and trying to numb the pain of his past relationship
if i remember right, i think they (being joji or i guess maybe a team or smth) filmed almost everything in the mv themselves cause i saw a different video on tiktok of a girl who was feature very briefly in the video saying she was just approached by a guy with a camcorder and asked to just. do things for it so its all basically authetic footage id assume which kinda makes it hit more imo
It does
I took the video and song being at such a contrast as Joji trying to show how someone who might externally look okay publicly, and acting crazy with their friends like nothing is wrong.
It is about the self destructive behavior cuz he is with someone but thinking about somebody else
Would be great a first listen without stoping and then coming back to specific moments. Your mom was so into the song that she started crying and you broke up that moment. Great video by the way, keep going! ❤️
❤️
Loved your reaction. Your mom reaction was real and so adorable.
Thank you 🥰
A man spiraling out of control after a breakup that he cannot get over.
I think the video just wants to make it clear that sometimes love can destroy you and lead you to live a life like the people we see in the video...
the MV explanation is pretty obvious to me, it ridiculously goes well with the song. it’s someone dealing with a heartbreak, still loving his ex friend and trying to love the new one, doing the worst bs to feel alive, his mates keep him alive even tho we see him slowly parting from the crew. he hates having to break the new girl heart, he hates having to see the ex everywhere, he hates that he can never move on, he will be broken forever, he creates chaos to forget everything or feeling something else
I think the point of the chaos of this video is to be juxtaposed with the longing and love of the lyrics of this song.
The music video is months of him and friends recording what they did those past year's.
❤️
Stay strong 🙏🏼❤️

The Best audiovisual that i never see before
Someone does crazy things and gets free, getting into that whole case.
Exactly!
If you have lived this type of life of chaos you understand the brotherhood and silent pain that comes with all of it. It may seem to some like the video and song dont match but they really do. For me this song hit very close to home and the video put me right there in that time and moment where my chilldhoood trauma met becoming a man and the destruction, beauty, comraderie, and heartbreak of that feel so captured here.
i think that this is speaking to a larger representation of todays youth, more specifically young men.
broken relationships, fatherless homes, no emotional discipline or self control leads to more of this. its a vicious cycle that tears at the very core of young people, where they act out in hopes of finding that direction and discipline to find peace and love that they are afraid to admit they need and too traumatized to try.
this song and video perfectly encapsulates this dichotomy that desperately need to be reconciled within those that have never seen healthy communication and mutual effort.
brooooooo she cryed omg i'm melting this is so cute
❤️
I see chaos and pain and disorder in the video. Like he’s singing about her when she’s gone and it’s a depiction of how he feels. Idk tho
My Pov : the MV is filthyFrank vibe. And its been a more than a year since he quit and start his career as joji. So its about his old character
It been well over 1 year! 😂
Tears in my eyes when i listen this song. its such a masterpiece..
❤️
Amazing mom!!!! 🥹❤️her reaction is amazing
Thank you ! 🥰
literally anybody could cry in this song😿
True
The first time I seen this video I felt an instant connection, some of us are a lot like Frank. That doesn't mean that we don't have a beautiful voice inside, it just means that we weren't meant for this world, but we're here and trying to make the best of it. Possibly we're from the same universe as GWAR
Your mom hit the nail on the head, this is the one. This deserves the 10/10
Thank you 🥰
For me the video means guys that are broken inside, that live that way to fill their life...
This is more of a or a kind of person someone becomes after losing someone that u imagine a whole life and future with them and it’s u end up dying inside and becoming a monster 😪💔
The song and the video fit. Letting go and loosing control after a bad break up.
“This is the most beautiful song…” that is what I wanted to hear her say. And she said it.
😘
What I gather from the video is that the main guy had a breakup and has given up on life, he tries to forget by adopting this "live fast die young" lifestyle but on the inside he's still broken and that's why you occasionally see him looking distant, like those are the moments that reality hits him again & it works with the song as that's his "glimpses".
Its self destruction over heartbreak..
I knew right away what was going on. Lived a life similar to this
The video is the things you don't see. No one opened the light for me when everything around me was dark.
long time no see im glad you too are still healthy you guys still make amazing videos as always ❤
After watching the music video, all I could think of was “this is the absence of love.”
❤️
hes just so amazing
Just noticed we wear the same brand of eyeglasses lol, Ottoto glasses are really cool
I like that his mum has so much more understanding of what the song is about
❤️
I this song is a tribute to flirty franck, the final scene, pinck light whit the black shadow
This video is really perfect for someone like myself that lived a destructive life like they people in the music video. The song with the video makes a lot of sense when you can relate with the lifestyle in that video.
The video is just the expression of self-destructive behavior that comes along with someone who is lost and depressed and heartbroken
