Bernard "Buddy" Rich was an American jazz drummer and bandleader. Widely considered one of the most influential drummers of all time and known for his virtuoso technique, power, and speed, Rich was billed as "the world's greatest drummer" during his career. He performed with many bandleaders, most notably Tommy Dorsey, Harry James, Count Basie, and led his own big band.

@@taktthemaestro defo big band would recommend som bebop if you like it probs the closet thing you'll find to this masterpiece
Funny how there are like three Johns in one orchestra. That must've been confusing.
Tony Levin is playing the bass on this record ?!?!?!? woah
Thank you so much
Discovering this in 2023. Saw the live on tonight show (highly recommend). This is pure dope, the whole track. I think it is a cover from Horace silver.
Please someone make that kind of music with same energy, a story to tell, and a level of craftsmanship that high.
Those are insane musicians.
Colby Fulton drums. Same
I discovered it because of a 7 sec meme video that had this as a background music
Gregg Potter is doing it.

was it a ballistic dummy being exploded by a tank shell? if so me too ahha @@beter21137
i was listening to cowboy bebop's soundtrack when this came up on my feed, i was like "the thumbnail looks cool, let me see if the music is up to par" let me just say, it did not disappoint.
I'm going to nutville at the end of the month
How was it
I’ve heard it’s really nice there!
Careful, they say people who go there never return
NO WAY THEY REMOVED THIS FROM SPOTIFY STOP
I also noticed that, any clue why?
@@josemota9188 remaster release?

A random user not connected to Buddy Rich had uploaded the whole album
2:30 that trumpet lick gives me chills
I’m coming for you LETS GO GOLFING LETS GO GOLFING
Man listen to him work that ride cymbal
Floats like a butterfly! 🥁
That bass fall and Buddy's fill at 2:20 is delicious
Song is great. Reminds me of Cowboy Bebop.
No, cowboy bebop should remind you if this
Same brotha
Was thinking the same
Well bebop itself is a jazz sub genre with a fast tempo, so that makes sense
Yeah.....Tank reminds me of this.😜✌
Buddy’s popping corn in that left hand like nobody’s business!
OMG OMG OMG OMG I have adult attention deficit disorder and I have been searching for this type of Jazz. It's like this type of Jazz matches the noise in my head and I can be so productive while this is playing. It's crazy. Im left-handed, well ambidextrous but prefer my left for writing and right for everything else. When i play this music around ppl trying to concentrate, they get so annoyed but i can literally build a rocket or go to sleep listening to very high enrgy jazz. If i dont play this i might drift off to space for 22 hours and try to cram a little into the 23rd hour before i go to sleep every other day. I grew up playing all types of instruments and its a shame you have to literally search for good music and trash is just put in front of you endlessly. speaks to the fabric and condition of society and the lack of depth in most people. I used to watch cowboy bebop....most underrated show for a lot of reasons regardless of anime. They literally breathed life into this music for a generation of ppl that wouldnt have known or looked for it otherwise. Glad i grew up around real humans that knew what moved the soul.
calm down, it’s not that serious
Common Cowboy Bebop Enjoyer W
You need a friend
It is that serious.
i got the A double d too dog. Love this track so much. Unmatched in energy
Really digging this big band music, and Buddy is a legend on drums. Another great one is Art Blakey's version of caravan.
GREAT!! also love the Spirit of Atlanta take from 79. Ott & Float ftw
WOW! One of the best jazz instrumentals I've ever heard! Maybe the best!
I play the bassline and damn if it isn't still the most fun tune we have
lmaoooo

Single-stroke roll at 4:00 started the drum head on fire.

Like his performance with the Doc Severinsen band when he did this on the Johnny Carson Show , Hot as Hell..
I’m patient waiting for my record to show up in the mail
I don't know why I'm thinking of Bruce Lee and the Green Hornet driving around in the sweet ass ride back in the 60s! But that's exactly what this reminds me of! Sweeeeeet😭😂
GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!;!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spirit of Atlanta 1979 memories.
Shit slaps real good
So are there any other song identical to this?! Cant find one
Me after NNN
Smokin'!
Speeding out of Nutville to get to the Kilimanjaro Cookout while eating a Big Mac because the Backwoods Sideman is giving you a Time Check but you were experiencing a Prelude to a Kiss so now you have to hurry so you can play “Waltz of the Mushroom Hunters” in front of Senator Sam.
This music aint just heavenly its transcendent
People who gave this a thumbs down are severely lacking a musical education
that’s an awfully exclusionary point of view, wouldn’t you agree?
@@henrykvistad3337 it’s 100% true. Musically educated people understand what it takes. It’s not to be judged with the same criteria as what you want to listen to on hit radio.
Saxrasta i would argue that taste is subjective. regardless of how i feel about this piece there is bound to be someone who just doesn’t like it. to confine music, man’s crowning achievement, to a binary field such as “you either get it or you don’t” is incredibly conceited and short-sighted. although i like this piece myself, to conclude that everyone who disagrees with your point of view is of inferior perspicacity and wit is, respectfully, absolutely unfounded.
@@henrykvistad3337 some music requires a certain amount of education and knowledge just to understand. Without that minimal education a true opinion cannot be made.
Saxrasta au contraire, just because you were taught a specific way to think and interpret data doesn’t mean you are of a higher caliber than your peers. your false sense of superiority and incessant elitism are beyond vexatious.
Spotify removing this is so random
GREAT
when she tells you she's home alone until the morning, and you live 8 miles away.
Magnifico...joya !
when Caravan is not enough demanding and you make your own

Never been a jazz fan, but I would be if there were more songs with the intensity of the Whiplash soundtrack. Haven't had any luck finding them until now. This is fire!
No clue if it's exactly what you mean but check out Moanin' by Mingus Big Band!
there are some specifically in the big band jazz subgenre
Buddy was great
Yeah, I can definitely hear how Yoko Kanno was inspired by this for TANK! Tank is still its own song, but no doubting the kernel of the idea is right here.
Badass
Wonderful. Fucking killed it
¿Por qué gran putas spotify elimino esta canción? Como que ya se me esta haciendo mas atractivo youtube music.
SOOOOOOOOOIOO increasable. Christ lister to this drumming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

okay what the fuck
Name of song sounds sus
'Nut' as in crazy, but you say 'sus', so what would you know?
Wtf do you dislike? I mean really? Why the hell did you listen to the post?
Isn't it amazing that some of the most incredible performances you can hear on RUclips get a bunch of thumbs down?!?! And probably from cats who couldn't play their way out of a wet paper bag.
Must be either Beliebers (people who listen to Justin Bieber), 6ix9iners (people who listen to 6ix9ine), or a mix of the two.
If not, more.
Gracias Raulito uwu
What type of jazz is this
Uhhh the good one
Big band with hard bop/bebop elements
cowboy bebop tf?
Man I've got great memories playing the lead trumpet part of this arrangement when i was in high school. Chop killer for sure, but it's a fun chart!
When I taught at CSU Long Beach, Charlie Davis (lead trumpet) was one of our trumpet teachers and had the office next to mine. When he would warm up he would literally knock things off shelves in my office. A really nice guy, excellent trumpet teacher and he said he loved his time with Buddy and playing on this album. Check out his lead work on "Waltz of the Mushroom Hunters".
