Why hasn't there been any discussion about catching NY in season record to secure a game 7 in Cleveland, if we go head head w/ them?

remember, NYY does have the tiebreaker over us, so we have to finish 1 game ahead of them. Plus, they get the lowly Pirates (who, alluding to something our hosts mentioned today, also have one of the WORST owners in the league) at home.
We talked about it on the show this week multiple times just very unlikely with NY have a magic number of 2 and it's a worse matchup in Rd 2
Agree on Noel. We told the rabble that his chase rate was going to be a problem, but we all know they weren't listening because he hits bombs and he's got a good nickname. Now he stays on the roster for the reasons you mention. By the way, from my observations, he has good speed, especially for his size...watch his straight line speed to first base. Its his instincts in the field that are poor. He probably would have made more $ as a middle linebacker.
Agree on Lively. Matchups notwithstanding, I give Boyd and/or Cobb starts over Lively.
Too bad for the Clippers though. Came up just short for the IL championship.
Fisher is diabolical. If you haven't read the saga of the A's impending move to Vegas, not only did he have no intention of staying, he deliberately tanked the organization and mothballed the stadium while pretending to negotiate with Oakland. He was gone, no matter what. Which kinda makes him worse than Modell, who made bad decisions, but would have stayed if a stadium was provided to him.
It was a real life major league where the owner sunk the team to make it easier to move

I loved your story about grabbing the ball Justin, and the best part was that you gave it to some kids. I can't tell you how many times I've seen some drunk dude in his 30s/40s beat some kids to a ball at the stadium and not do that. Well done.

Would like to see Detroit move into that 5th seed over Kansas City for a KC vs HOU. Detroit is hot and rather see the the winner of DET vs BAL go to the Yankees. Yes, I would rather face Baltimore but Houston is going to be in our bracket. We struggled with Detroit pitching for the most part and their bats are getting gritty.

It turned out KC stayed the number five seed as Detroit lost again to the White Sox and Kansas City beat Atlanta to end the season.
I’d personally rather face Baltimore than Houston. For one, Baltimore’s pitching isn’t what Houston’s is on the whole. Second, there’s just something about the Astros that seems they get further in the playoffs than they’re expected to, and I don’t want that coming at Guardians expense.
I could see that
The Guardians lost two games to the Astros before game 3 was canceled, but the Guardians should have won the second game. A two run error was the difference in a 4-3 game. Houston is about due to lose in the divisional round, as I see it. They may not get past the Tigers in the Wild Card.
