And also if you ever want to interview me consider doing so. My grandfather born under the Ottomans in Bethlehem, my Dad under British Mandate Palestine, then they left Jerusalem when the area they lived became part of Jordan. Ended up they moved to Jersey while some settled in California and a good portion to Australia.

Showing Palestinian coins of the British mandate era is like hitting one’s own foot with an axe. All of these coins have something very special written on those in (). It is an acronym for ‘Eretz Yisrael’ (Land of Israel). The British mandate authorities put this acronym just to confirm the Balfour Declaration

    • @FarberBob678
      @FarberBob678 2 месяца назад

Until the period of the British Mandate there was no Hebrew equivalent of 'Palestine'. That land, though referred to as 'Filastin' in Arabic, was always called 'the land of Israel' in Hebrew. The coining of a Hebrew equivalent of 'Palestine' and combining it with its historical name in Hebrew was a compromise.

I have been trying to find Canadian coin albums and I just tried out an American company that warehouses and distributes coin supplies called Wizard Coin Supply. I purchased penny albums because Canada no longer produces them and therefore I never have to update them. They are from Lighthouse which I believe is a German company that produces high quality coin albums and acid free plastic products for coin collecting. All of my silver and world coins are stored in there book style albums that have removable or changeable binder pages and I'm happy with my Lighthouse products. Definitely a brand I would recommend and I see they make some type set albums too. The only gripe I have is Canada/U.S.A. duty, the bill was $40.00 CAD plus $30.00 duty.

A good feeling you get from typewriters and some collectibles (but not coins) is getting to use one after repair. Sometimes you get an idea or a part and get to use a machine you've already owned for years which has just sat idle. That is a very magical feeling.

I'm not sure if they have made any foreign ones or not. I just recently bought a 10 new modern israeli mint sets. they are in the same packaging as the U.S. '66 & '67 sets. It is such a great feeling of success to collect the years and put them in to your folder like you have. Our relatives and families were kicked off their ancestral land of thousands of years and forced to either live under occupation, go to other countries as refugees or live in camps. This was forced on the indigenous Palestinian people (mostly Christians, Muslims, Christian Jews and non Zionist jews)
The UK and US colonized the area with a Zionist state of illegal immigrants post WWII. They are still the minority population and the Palestinian people are stuck living terrible lives under occupation. Not to mention how the displacement of millions caused the Lebanese civil war that has destroyed that country or forced Jorden to absorb 50% of their population as refugees.
My mother's family lost everything. The Zionists took their home and turned it into a Jewish school. My family had been living on that land for almost a thousand years. They were homeless and forced to relocate to Bethlehem in the West Bank. Now half of us are in the USA.
I wish my relatives didn't have to live under Israeli occupation.
That's what they mean by Free Palestine.

The Israeli girl refers to a coin produced in 1927 by the British Mandate for use in Palestine. The British included 3 languages to acknowledge the demography there at the time.
It’s interesting to note that the Hebrew reads ‘Palestina’ and is followed by a two-letter abbreviation in brackets (א״י) which stands for Eretz Yisrael, the Land of Israel.
I’m not sure what point you were actually making and why you think you’ve won an argument. Your editing was so jumpy and unprofessional.
More to the point, how is it funny to spook her with the threat of Hamas coming to her door?

Call the land Palestine, Israel or whatever you want. It is still the birthplace of Judaism, Christianity and also has important Muslim significance.
It is no more the Jewish homeland as the USA is the British, German or Mexican. Both are melting pots of many cultures and religions.
That region of the world has been concurred more than any other on earth.
As a Palestinian Christian whose family has lived in Palestine for over a thousand years, you really have a warped view.
Then again the Zionists won, what can we expect. All Christians, Jews and Muslims of the region deserve better than this.

@@AlQuam The British homeland is Britain, the German homeland is Germany, and the Mexican homeland is Mexico. Similarly the Palestinian homeland is Palestine. Based on this, I would say that Jewish homeland is Judea. Judea and Palestine are two different names for the same place, a homeland of two different peoples.

These are not Palestinian coins in the sense of coins issued by a Palestinian state. The were issued by the British Mandate of Palestine.
