Thanks… very different to my usual holidays … it was to celebrate my wife’s 50th and she loved it…… so I earned lots of brownie points to put towards my future #vanlife MTB adventures 😂😉 Before that though I head back to Slovenia for three weeks to catch the rest of the ski season … may have to find a ski bike to try 😄
@@Hayes1955SPLaTFiLMS Very nice, and if she loved it all the better, plus points are always helpful😀. Have fun with the rest of your skiing, enjoy it and if you find a SkiBike, have fun. Take care🤙
Peter thank you so much for this video it is fantastic me and the mrs will be spending our honeymoon there next year and you two have doubled our excitement. What funny and lovely people you are
Brilliant video,we go in 4 weeks should of gone last year for our 25th wedding anniversary put postponed until this ,staying in the same villa as yourselves,if you don’t mind me asking what was the cost of the dolphin cruise. We can’t wait to get out there
With the WOW AI package you get a choice of one free excursion. We could choose from either the Dolphin Cruise or the Snorkelling Safari. We chose the cruise, so for us it was free. Unless things have changed you should also have a free excursion option I think. You will love it - it’s like living in a holiday brochure commercial 😀
@@Hayes1955SPLaTFiLMS thank you, very much appreciate we have the wow package so that’s great to know before we arrive we also booked the floating breakfast for our anniversary
Thanks- you don’t have to, but we did. Not huge amounts, just occasionally in the restaurants after the evening meal. $10 or there abouts. But what we did do is look after our butler who went the extra mile to make sure our holiday was perfect. We tipped him $50 after a couple of days, and the $150 at the end of our stay. Others will do differently, some less, some a lot lot more. It depends on your own circumstances I guess.
Great videos Peter, and it was good to follow you’re posts during the trip on Facebook. We are spending 14 nights here next month and although both my wife & I have never done scuba diving,I’m trying to persuade her into doing just 1 dive. I have the price lists but do you have a rough idea of what the cost will be. Also, looking at peoples videos, the marine life is a lot less than I have seen on previous Maldives trips, although I have not seen many videos that are of the actual drop off. I do wonder if the amount of motorised sports is having a negative effect.
Hi Dave, Thanks, gad you like it. I wish I was back there!!! There are a few different options for novice divers. You can do the same 2 dive trip I did as a complete beginner, one on one instruction and supervision. The cost for ths is about $400. Alternatively, there is a single dive experience with hydro snorkelling for about $300. There are other options as well which you can enquire about on arrival. Marine life is very "if you are lucky"... on my dives it was mainly turtles and large shoals, but I know others who went to different locations who had close ups with reef sharks and manta rays. I dont think the motorised sports will be affecting what is about on the house reefs, there really is very little motorised activity happening. This was my first time in the Maldives so I can't say whether it is good or not so good (never bad!) I have dived around the world and I foumd it pretty good, but not the best for sea life (Red Sea is the best I have experienced, and I have dived the Gt Barrier Reef) But, that may be down to lattitude with Siyam World being more northerly. Last week my brother had a week on an island about 50km south of Male and his videos have been amazing, diving with dozens of sharks and masses of sea life. Whatever, I really think you and your wife should grab the opportunity- I cant think of many better places as far as the overall experience and the care of the Siyam Dive team to do it.
thanks a lot for sharing this video, we will be visiting Siyam next week for a 7 days holiday with kids. Can you please tell me if you were staying at a lagoon villa or water villa? if you happen to know the difference between this two types? I would basically like to know the location of the water villas if it's closest to the beach/restaurants or not. did you need to perform a pcr test when travelling back? is it offered at the island?
I am not 100% sure but I think the water villas have a smaller plunge pool and the bathroom to the side of the bedroom overlooking the decking, which is also smaller than a Lagoon villa as a result. All villas are close to the beach. The closest bridge to the Tempo buffet is Alcantara There is a lot of information on the Facebook group page: facebook.com/groups/677920089571070/?ref=share
