Totally enjoyable as always Tomas..Joe is one of our own..I would love to see him coach a top team! The joy is disappearing out of the football which is my first time ever saying this!
Great interview, I had a great laugh at Joe. He is so passionate about football. You might not always agree with what he says but some character! Some great stories! Actually like he is not on RTÉ any more the gum shield is out!
I watched Kerry Offaly in the 72 All Ireland on utube. Was great to watch. They caught it , they kicked it , the had a shot at goal. And so it went on. Rory Gallagher would be horrified. I enjoyed Donegal and Derry but if you want to stop that type of game you just change a few rules, like forcing goal keeper to kick the ball out to the 45 m line, forcing teams to keep at least 5 players in the opposing teams half and after 2 hand passes the ball has to be kicked. It would put Rory out of business.
@@niallmaca5670 respected for his football but not liked outside of that. 5 mins listenin to the Sunday Game would reveal why...kinda the point they were makin
With Brolly I’d say it’s a lot to do with jealousy as well. He’s not on the telly getting all the attention he once did. The Sunday game is a bit dull alright but it’s not as bad as they are making out here.
With Brolly as an analyst I used to like his inside track on counties, players and managers...very knowledgeable and he put things into the public domain we wouldn't otherwise have known. Just a shame at the end his commentary and analysis became theatrical and exaggerated which was irritating...like it was an act and attention seeking to make headlines about what he said as opposed to the incidents themselves.
Maybe whilst talking about character, perhaps Joe should start being honest about the personal reasons for his disdain for one Mayo footballer in particular, won't be holding my breath on that one. And by the by, they've beaten all the big Ulster sides in the championship over the years, so would be confident enough that they'd win a few Anglo-Celts if they were up north.
What he said about Mayo is 100 % spot on and I'm from Mayo. The words he used were so fitting but my God the use of the term "passengers" fits perfectly with regards to certain Mayo players.
@@Michael-hk6dj But he didn’t mention “certain players”, did he? He talks a load of shite about airy terms like the “culture” of an entire county. Brolly was all over the likes of Donegal, Tyrone for years when they were winning, but as soon as they lose a game he castigates them. Because whoever wins is fantastic and whoever loses is awful, according to his brand of analysis, and not just as footballers but as people. I’m also from Mayo chief, by the by.
@@Michael-hk6dj so as a Mayo man you've no problem in him calling them "dishonest footballers" ? Wow ! They've given blood sweat and many tears to the cause, and you reckon he's 100% spot on. Really ?
I assume he is referring to McConville and O'Rourke when he spoke about uninteresting people. I would disagree, it is all relative, I always found McConville interesting because of his gambling issues just like what I had.
Very enjoyable could listen to joe talk all day
What a treat. Excellent podcast Tomas. Joe Brolly is a genius and the best mind in the game.
Tom's best one so far
@@Michael-hk6dj Also Joe is the only one with the gutts to tell the truth about this mayo squad.
Lol good one

Loved Joe Brolly!

Joe’s accent impersonations are very impressive! He should come into the world of voice acting 🎙👏🏽

Great interview, Joe has the best GAA mind in Ireland
Brolly can be a real tool but I enjoyed this interview. Tomas O’Shea is a class act.

Brolly is a sage of football.
Interesting about Cavanagh both don't like him....best insight in years. Great footballer "but as a man".
I'm from Trone btw
When do they talk about him?
