I really don't know if the Classic 3 is worth the price tag over the Classic 2. Talked to a Rep even he was not convince on the roller smoker for the price increase..... and he has the 3. But, overall KJ all day over BGE for the value and accessiories out the box.
@@embersliving How should I go about making placing my order? I actually just cancelled my order with BBQguys.com cause they said they're 4 weeks out on shipping.. I want the Classic Joe III
It’s a classic II. The classic 1 does not have the wire mesh gasket, and maybe not the control tower. It’s cheaper and might not be sold through dealers any more. Lowes has them.
If you want to try, or want portability go Jr. Otherwise buy the BigJoe. There are only 2 of us but I've never regretted it. I can make it as small as I like, but you can't make the smaller ones bigger.
Nice video. In case it helps a bit, and to avoid confusion... There are three different size KJs. Small (Joe Jr), medium (Joe Classic) and large (Big Joe). In the video you show the Classic 2 and compare to the Big Joe 3. The Classic also comes in a Classic 3 and this includes all the great features you mentioned on the Bjg Joe 3 in the video. It has the coal basket, better cart, metal side shelves, the “smoker” accessory (slow roller). So you don’t have to get the Big Joe to get these great features, you can get the Classic 3. So really if choosing between the Big Joe 3 and the Classic 3 the only difference to need to think about is size and price! Personally I bought the classic 3 last spring and love it! This spring I added the Joe Jr to my collection (gets high heat quicker so is great for small high heat cooks). Now, of course, I’m wishing I owned the Big Joe too for bigger cooks!!! Anyway, nice video - just wanted to help people understand the difference between the Classic and the Big Joe is only size and price if you compare version 3 in both sizes. Love that KJ comes with everything you need. I’d really suggest adding one purchase - the purpose built rotisserie!!
its coming but not here yet. its only $100 cheaper or so. you can always buy this one and just not use the stand. I think it will be awhile before we see the stand alone
Why is the title "What SIZE model should I get?" There really is very little discussion about helping one decide the appropriate size for their needs. Otherwise, good overview. Thanks
I had seen one that is 24 inch? Which one is that one? That 18 inch looks like the 24 but he said 18. And it’s huge. The 24 is also huge but didn’t look as big as the 3 to me.
I need Kamado Joe Classic. Still hesitating between Classic 2 and 3. But only because of weight difference (188 lbs vs 262lbs?). Classic 3 seems massive (by tech spec).
What I like the most about Kamado Joe is their crucible. It won't crack like (literally) every other brand (except for Saffire; they have a neat crucible). I can't justify the price difference between the KJ II and III, however. That sloroller only increases smoking by 20% (as mentioned in one of their videos). 20% extra smoke isn't worth the price increase in my opinion.
@@embersliving thanks! Will do. I honestly can't decide between the Napoleon rogue SE 425 (£1200) and the Kamado classic (with the upgraded Kamado control centre accessory and charcoal basket add-ons and extra grates - £1200). Tough times!
@@embersliving Yes, I believe all the ceramic components would hold up well. But, what about everything else? Would you please be kind enough to put this question to your viewers?

“Get that in the description in the link below” 😆 Great video mate! Would you say the Joe Jr is good enough for a family of 4, interested in cooking primarily chicken, sea food, and turkey?
This video is titled “what size should I get” but you barely spent any time on the sizes and what they mean in practice for what you can cook with the surface area and multi level cooking space. You spent most of the time talking about their non-size-related features, like the Series II vs Series III stuff.
For how many persons is classic and for how many persons is big Joe? I still dont know....what too buy...classic 2 or classic 3...in price is 500€ diference....
@@embersliving wow did not know that. I was looking to buy one soon but if I am to struggle to get replacement parts or accessories in the future then I won't now. Thanks for the reply 👍
Why do not talk prices? I wouldn't buy from you if I entered your store because you stay away from price, like it's taboo, ie., we can't talk salary in an interview. Well, what do you think I'm here for, your protocols leaving me in question as to whether you can afford me or vice-versa?" This was not a fun video (as you said it would be). A customer purchases based on budget, large or small BBQ needs (amount of food), common fire-up costs (briquettes), and performance based on specific features meeting limited needs. According to your deliver, bigger is better. Sheeez! Show me the door.
