Bio: Leonardo Torres was raised Catholic and left the church at age 20 after being threatened to be kicked out for asking questions. He identified as an Atheist for 10 years and spent that time actively arguing with street preachers, witnesses and anyone else who brought up religion. At age 30, he had a strong encounter with God that made him drop his Atheist title and he became a free follower of GOD which he calls, "The Great Spirit". Taking God seriously and following Him wherever He leads him, Leonardo started a RUclips Channel reaction to music as a "Non-Christian" musician reviewing Christian music. Little by little, the music and the stories began to open his heart up more to God and he decided to drop the "Non-Christian" title and considers himself a Student of Christ. Whether that means "Christian" or not is yet to be determined but his goal is to remind followers of God to love one another as they were commanded and to teach people how to love themselves so that they may love others.

When I saw you were reacting to Lewis Capaldi, my heart beat hard as this is a new jump in moving to mainstream artists. This is one of my favourite artists. He is a Scottish singer-songwriter and with great fame. I welcome you featuring such types of artists instead of strictly Christian CCM artists. Interestingly "Bruises" was his first majour international hit. Even bigger hits by him include "Grace", "Someone You Loved", "Hold Me While You Wait" and "Before You Go"
His voice is amazing . You should check out more of his songs. The whole album is awesome 😎👍

when is a bruise a good reminder! Bruises are reminders of having lived! i love my physical bruises and i smile at them , at least thats how i feel.
Because having the bruising from life reminds him that he’s been cleansed from His water, he’s grown. Crushing, diamonds, etc. As it’s said, one can’t have a testimony without the test. Growth. Healing.

From personal experience after a breakup, I take the bruises line as meaning something along these lines: The breakup hurt really, REALLY badly, but you still love the person and want them back more than anything even if they've completely left you behind. You don't want to lose the bruises because that's the only way to experience them now that they're gone, so you stick to the only way you can feel them even if its not healthy. It is the worst feeling in the world, but you just don't want to get over the person no matter how much they hurt you

2 years late answer, but yes. This. I just went through this. It sucks.
Many artists tackle spiritual issues, even if not strictly Christian. But they feel soooo Christian in context. So they are worthy of consideration. For example take Simon Webbe who is a member of the boy band Blue. In his solo songs, he has sang so deeply spiritual songs. For example "Grace" which has so many such feelings.
Imo the bruising is part of having to open up our heart more to the Lord, He uses our brokenness to increase our empathy and compassion for others and draw us closer to Him.
