    After years of being known as the vehicle of choice for drivers over the age of 60. Toyota rejuvenates the 2019 Avalon with a youthful flair to include a polarizing new design, a stiffer structure courtesy of TNGA, a sport tuned exhaust system [on Touring trims], and dynamic new handling abilities. The gas V6 engine has also been energized to deliver over 300 horses with a new 8-speed transmission delivering power to the front wheels. The result is a driving experience that no other Avalon has had in the past and it should easily attract some new clients into the Avalon portfolio.

    The people who complain about the new Avalon being too expressive and polarizing; are the same people who complained the Avalon was too boring and is only for old people.

    Just bought the touring and have been joy riding it all week...love it love it love it. It's the only car I've ever driven that creates a luxury quiet oasis while still giving you the option of being sporty.

    • @alexfarmwald3946
      @alexfarmwald3946 7 месяцев назад

      Hey, how is it as a daily driver? I don't really know what avs does, but does it worsen the ride quality any? How's driving in it for an hour? I might be getting a touring soon 🙂

    • @777galamian
      @777galamian 7 месяцев назад

      Not sure what you mean by "avs", but if you mean the adaptive dampers, they work really well. I mostly keep them on normal and the ride is smooth and supple. When engaged in sport or sport +, the ride firms up and steering response is better. It's a great daily driver, albeit a bit large for just one person (I have kids with car seats in the back). Overall, very happy with purchase of this Touring Avalon after 45k miles. Still drives like a dream. @@alexfarmwald3946

    There is remote start. You don't need the app. Hit lock button once, hit it again within 1 second and press it and hold it for like 3 seconds. The car lights will flash a couple times. Works on my 2019 Limited Hybrid.

    Underrated cars. Very reliable and the ride comfort is one of the best. As a mechanic myself I’ve driven Mercedes S classes, and even a Bentley at one point. And the Avalon’s ride comfort, although not on the same level, is close enough. For a car a fraction of the price.

    Being a Toyota enthusiast this is my take..
    I agree on the grille it’s too large (maybe look better in person) but the grill looks the best on darker color cars like the red XSE. Now once you get past the grill the rest of the car is beautiful.That red model is really damn good looking. That interior is best in class. Love the V6 engine, love the LED headlights and taillights with the moving signals... looks like a winning product.

    Hats off to Toyota for this Avalon. Most carmakers are eliminating car models and going to SUV'S for their entire production. The SUV'S have their following but if you're driving over a long road trip the car is the most comfortable option. I have never purchased a foreign car but that will probably change for my next car. The styling of this Avalon is great and the interior is beautiful, love the color on the model you tested.

It now has 256,000 miles and besides headlight issue nothing but optional repairs...Shocks several times, water pump at 200k, and a few other things I did just because. Am now looking at a 2019 XSE. @KCMrecordings 6 лет назад +5

      jmasoncar s huh?? There are plenty of better sedans than this on the market that are "keeping sedans alive". 3 series, ATS, stinger gt, civic, Mazda 3, charger, 300, accord with a manual just to name a few. And don't forget the high performance M, V and AMG sedans as well.

    • @jmasoncars4452
      @jmasoncars4452 6 лет назад +8

    • @KCMrecordings
      @KCMrecordings 6 лет назад

      jmasoncar s to each his own, but I see no effort here, at least not a successful one. The charger is a much MUCH better sedan than anything Toyota makes when it comes to keeping the sedan alive. Like it or not, there is a huge following and demand for the charger because of it's design, power, driving dynamics AND four seating practicality. On the other hand, the only people that buy this, the corolla, or the Camry only do so for practical reasons, mostly cost and reliability (which isn't exclusive to Toyota like some people think it is)

    • @jmasoncars4452
      @jmasoncars4452 6 лет назад +8

      Karun Chendrimada let me be more clear, based on Toyotas lack of effort during the last 20 years this is a big step up. Toyota has used the same platform for almost 20 years until now so in my eyes it's a welcomed improvement over the old Avalon. I am in no way shape or form a Toyota fanboy. If I was in the market I would buy an accord any day over this or a Camry. Frankly I'd buy any Honda product over a Toyota. The reason Toyota is/was so reliable is becuase it's easy to make a 20 year old platform bulletproof which is why the new Camry on the TNGA platform is on is 4th or 5th recall already. Now if you're talking about the Charger, 300, Challenger or Grand cherokee that's even worse because it's based off of a platform that was used on the 1996 E class mercedes. As far as driving dynamics, performance and features I'd say Chrysler is at the bottom with their rear wheel drive platforms. Buying a charger would be like buying a Ford Taurus.

      Bob Kerbs I get that, but my point is when I want a Lexus, I go for a Lexus, not a Toyota that looks like a Lexus. Infiniti is the luxury division of Nissan just like Lexus is for Toyota, but when you see a Nissan, it's a Nissan, not to be mistaken for an Infiniti. This Toyota can completely be mistaken for a Lexus. That's what I can't swallow. The Toyota Prius and the Lexus CT 200h share the same hybrid engine and same gear box, but the body is totally different, and that's perfectly fine by me. But this Toyota isn't. They should have go for a different body style.
