Best thing for hot chocolate that Froot reminded me of, instead of putting a whole candy cane in there you can pulverize them in a food processor into a powder and add it in with your mix. It'll melt down and be really pepperminty. You can do all sorts of stuff with it, put it in frostings or sprinkle cupcakes with it.

(7:03) I used to have a white tree, and decorate it only with satin red ball ornaments (no lights). The presents underneath were wrapped in red paper, with white ribbon (the opposite of the tree). Across the top of my window, I'd hang silver/white garland, with a satin red ball from each hook. Beauty in simplicity.
