Trapped inside my home due to winter weather, in this video, I take on the challenge of upcycling and repurposing Goodwill thrift store items that I already had-many of these items have been collecting dust for years! Let’s get creative and see what beautiful and budget friendly home decor we can craft with these items! (These projects turned out so good-I don’t know why I didn’t use them sooner.)

Well as you know we all love the peacock table. Everything else turned out amazing too. But I am on the lookout for a peacock lamp ❤
Thank you! Hope you find one! 🤞
Thanks for sharing love everything especially the peacock lamp you never fails to amazed us with your creativity thank you once again for sharing have a wonderful blessed Monday.
Me, too!
Loving the peacock lamp!
Agreed!
Love !!!! The peacock table!!! Will be on the lookout for unusual lamps to recreate! Very beautiful!
Thank you! 😊 Hope you find a great lamp! And, if you do, let me know!
Hey Shari - it’s freezing here in Tacoma, WA too! I am most impressed with the organization of your stash to be honest! I need organization strategies for mine! I loved the William Morris tray the best. That is your style and fits best in your home! ❤
All so creative Sherry, but to take a pile of totally unrelated items and turn them into such a fun and colorful topiary was my favorite! Stay safe and warm!
Loved your peacock table. Thanks for the enjoyable video.
You are so welcome! I am so glad you enjoyed it, Brenda! 😊
All your projects were so lovely. Probably the most simple one -- the wicker tray with the William Morris napkin collage, really spoke to me, because I love William Morris designs, and also the idea of containing things to unify them. The topiary was amazing and beautiful! I just loved the whole video and watching you create.
Thank you so much! You are so kind, Elizabeth! You really can’t go wrong with a William Morris design, can you?!
You cracked me up throughout this video! HAHAHA! From the 'not needing to go to the thrift store for 3 years' to pitching that rooster I was laughing out loud! SO funny! BUT ALSO: Everything that you created was so very clever, beautiful, and interesting--as always!! Thanks Sherry!!
That fabric in the tray would go perfectly with my sofa!
Oooh, what color is your sofa? Mine is gray, and I want to sell it and get a blue or green one!
@CanterburyCottage I have a floral sofa with roses in those very colors: Ivory, burgundy and pink roses on a very dark background. Yes, I love my granny chic!
My favorite was the peacock lamp turned into a table. However, all the ideas were very creative.
Thank you so much, Lynn! 😊
I absolutely love the peacock table.
Oh, thank you, Brianne! (The table was my favorite, too! 😊)
I am in awe of the peacock lamp turned into the little side table. Brilliant!
The topiary is gorgeous as is the peacock side table. But let’s face it everything came out beautifully
Oh, that’s so sweet, June! 😊
I just love it when you hammer something off and then add something you tore off another thing a month ago!! Cracks me up.
Thank you! You have been watching me awhile! I did not save those plastic wheels, so don’t be looking for them. However, I did save the fabric from the tray and was already thinking about how I could use it! 😜
My favorite was the table you made with the peacock lamp. I recently saw a very large brass lamp at my local thrift store. My first thought was I could make a small table with that. Alas I did not buy it, great minds think alike🤔
You’ll see another lamp one of these days and you’ll be ready! The only tricky part is finding a way to attach the wood round to the top of the lamp.
Your projects are lovely and charming. I love the tray and peacock table.
Thank you so much, Debbie! 😊
Hi Sherry! It's Denise in KY. Not a lot of snow here but it's colder than a winter's day in the artic. I'm definitely not a fan of cold weather. All of your projects are inspiring but my favorite in this video is the wooden basket holding the twine. My mind is whirling and I may try to see if I can come up with something like that for my twine that likes to hide from me. I've been watching some other "crafting" type videos on You tube to get some ideas for Valentines Day and they are lacking in the quality and genuinely unique ideas that you have. I look forward to your video every week. Thanks for sharing your talents with all of us!
I live in Kentucky as well, and yeah it's freezing here
Oh, Denise, you are so very kind! I am so glad that you enjoy my video. I am not doing a full length Valentine’s video this year, but perhaps, you would like to check out last year’s videos: ruclips.net/video/z08mtdXNqzI/видео.htmlsi=9QZVSGYOui-yQCza

Mirror shape reminds me of Fonzies mirror in Happy Days. Watching you while my husband watches Buffalo fans stand in the stadium because their seats are full of snow!
I had to Google Fonzie’s mirror-that was a great mirror! Yes, my husband is home early and watching the football game, too. I’m pretty sure I could not live in Buffalo!
I love the peacock table also! I just love watching your creativity when going through your ‘stash’! I love every one of your projects and look forward to Tuesday for a new video, thank you for all the time and effort you put into making and filming them.
Thank you so much! That is so very kind, Barb. I truly appreciate those words of support!
They are all gorgeous! The topiary is inspired and has so many options for decorating! Love them all, as usual, a fab bunch of creative ingenious beautification Sherri! ❤
Thanks so much, Margaret! I’m so glad that you enjoyed this week’s projects! 😊
Loved them all, but my favorite was the table made from the peacock lamp. Thanks for sharing with us.☺️
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!😊
Loved each and every project. I'm thinking some kind of similar topiary could make for an interesting door stop if the lower items used were weighted with cement or pebbles ... hmmm ... you've got me inspired again! The peacock table is wonderful. A great way to upcycle an unusual lamp base 😃🥰
Thank you, Yzola! I love your idea. I could have easily put sand or pebbles in the bottom salad bowls that I glued together. That would make it better for outdoor decor, too!
@@CanterburyCottage I will be scouring my charity shops for bowls 🥰
The table made from the peacock lamp is my favourite project of all you have ever done.
I really liked the twine basket! And also the mirror makeover. The peacock table looked as good as one you'd find new in a store!
Very good video!
Thank you! 😊 I’m so glad you enjoyed today’s video. I was hoping I could come up with some good ideas using the things I already had (since it was -14 degrees outside!🥶
You are one of the most creative and original artists that I've ever seen! You can turn literal trash or junk into stunning, amazing, beautiful home decor! I'd love to tour your home! I'll bet there are so many eclectic decorations throughout ❤❤❤
Great as always! …”I save everything……but that rooster….” 🤣😂🤣
You knocked it out of the park with the peacock tables, the terrariums was my second choice. Great video, Sherry ❤
Yay! Thank you, Becky! (The peacock table was my favorite, too! 😊)
I loved the flip from lamp to table.😮
Thank you, Sandi! That’s my favorite, too!
The terrarium is so clever and the twine-holder surprised me. I couldn’t imagine what you were going to do with that item!
Oh, thank you! I need to find another basket like that-only bigger to hold my large collection of twine! 😜
I agree, the twine holder surprised me too. Such a great idea. 😊
That peacock table is everything!!! The wicker tray was nicely done, too. If my husband would let me, our garage would look like yours. 😂 I loved most of the crafty creations. Well done.
Thanks so much! My husband is not happy with my “stash”. He tolerates it. 😜
These upcycles all turned out so so cute. Love them all. I have to say, I laughed when I saw your thrift stash, it looks like a thrift store. TFS
Thank you so much! I know my stash is embarrassing. I bought far too much stuff when I was running a retail booth!
Bitter winter in AR, too. I'm assembling shelves today that arrived exactly 2 months after the date we buried both my folks. I consider this my last gift from them and am happy to look out the window at the beautiful scene while I work inside.
Whoops! Please excuse all the typos.
I’m so sorry for your loss xx
@misslannie73 Thanks, but they were 93 and 96, and their lives ended very sweetly.
You are so lucky that your parents lived into their 90’s. My parents both died in their early 70’s, and I miss them everyday. My oldest son is getting married this year and how I wish they could be here for it!
@CanterburyCottage My dad officiated at the weddings of 3 of my kids. (One eloped). I do realize how lucky I am even though I only saw them once a year.
The peacock table turned out beautiful!!!
I like the mirror and wicker tray as well as the table. I have only gone outside to feed the birds, and squirrels 😂. Michigan should warm up next week. Not looking forward to going out tomorrow. Glad you are staying warm and shopping your stash. I have a stash as well, but I think I need to find some beautiful napkins soon.😊 TFS. Praying you and your viewers stay warm. ❄️
Oh, Serena! Michigan must be worse than Illinois! It was -14 F (actual temperature) here yesterday and the wind is terrible. My furnace can’t keep up-my house temp never rose above 65 degrees! If you have a Home Goods or T.J. Maxx, always check the napkins when you shop.
As always Sherry every project was awesome!! My favorite was the peacock lamp… hopefully it will warm up here soon.
Thank you! I hope so too! I haven’t left the house in a few days!
Your topiary is much prettier than the expensive one and that peacock table is to die for, i love it
Oh, thank you so much, Angela!😊
Love the peacock 🦚 lamp the most but they were all beautiful ❤️.
So I was at a estate sale this weekend and saw wooden salad bowls, frames, wooden boxes of all sizes, bird figurines and all I could think was “wow what Sherry could do with that”! Love the peacock table and the cart with basket but it was all lovely!
Lol...I think the same thing when I'm out thrifting!!😂
Thank you, Melissa! That’s so funny! Did you think that I would glue the boxes and bowls together to create a topiary and put a bird on top?! I hope you bought some good things!
I truly love them all! If I had to choose only one it would be the peacock table. It is amazing! I like the simplicity of the twine holder too and the shadow box frame was so unique! And the topiary is something I long to try with all the random pieces I have collected! Another fabulous video chocked full of creativity. ❤️
Thanks so much, Chick! There is something very satisfying about gluing a bunch of old stuff together! If you make a topiary, I’d love to see it! 😊 (The topiary was actually more time consuming than the peacock table because I’m not a neat painter.)
UGH!! I can't decide!! Each project was so great!! I loved how the metal cloche came out but then, the mirror! Yet, the peacock table was the crowning glory of today's video!! SO satisfying to watch you transform "junk" into treasure! :)
Thank you so much!! I am so glad you enjoyed these projects. (And, my husband is glad that I put a small dent in my stash!😜)
@@CanterburyCottage I sell all kinds of vintage on eBay so I have quite a stash too! But I don't upcycle anything although your videos make my fingers itch to do it! :D
I think my favorite thing you have ever done was the peacock table. It just made my heart sing when you were finished with it. Amazing and stunning! Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing your God given creativity with us. I love that you recycle. I wish everyone would do that instead of buying new things and then “upcycling” them. I much prefer to watch all of you crafters who recycle and refurbish and help keep things from going to the landfills. Everyone is a winner when you do that. Again, thank you. Keep it going. You are an inspiration and blessing to many.
Good afternoon, Sherry! Brrr it is ridiculously cold, lol! 🥶 Definitely will be shopping/decluttering my basement during this cold snap. Looking forward to see what magical creations you come up with! Stay warm ❤ Bobbie.xoxo
Good afternoon, Bobbie! Yes, sooooo cold! My furnace can’t keep up. I haven’t left the house in a few days now. Luckily, I already have some thrift finds to use next week, too! 😜
I’m not a fan of peacocks but I love what you did with the lamp. Now if I could find one myself. Lol
Good luck! I’m not a big peacock person either, but I loved the vintage look of that lamp!
All the items you made look lovely. The peacock lamp turned into a table was my favorite. It looked so pretty styled. I must buy some of the gold, it elevated the peacock.
The surprise item as another person said, was the twine holder.
Such a good idea. When you were busy cutting it up and drilling, etc, I couldn't have imagined you were making a twine holder.
I really loved all your decor pieces. The topiary looks lovely, the mirror, etc. 👏👏💖 Thank you for the inspiration. I must say we live in Germany and the wintets here are ice cold, windy, wet, grey, rainy and muddy. It snows from time to time.
I like to work outside to sand wood and paint which I can't do in winter. But I can paint small items and decopage. I buy packets of paper napkins from charity shops for projects. Last year I went to school to learn German every day and left all my creative projects undone because I was busy stuyding and was tired. I wrote my exams in Nov 2023, & reached burnout after a year of school.😂 I passed my B1 exam thank goodness. I was on edge until I got my results in Dec.
You have inspired me to get back into getting creative in winter. I can just tackle one small thing at a time.
Thete are products that I cant buy in Germany like E6000, and the gold rub on paint. I could buy it on Amazon but they rack up the shipping costs and import taxes. The USA has the availability of great supplies and thrift stores.
Again, thank you and enjoy all your beautiful pieces. 😁🤗💜💐
Hi Sherry,
Cabin fever is no fun, but you sure had some fun projects for us to watch. I really liked the peacock table. I’m a bird fan too 🦜
Thank you so much! Going to be a few more days before I leave the house. Luckily, I have next week planned already!
Loved the wicker , William Morris tray , the peacock table (oh my) and the topiary was very interesting. Thank you for using things around the house. Sherry, you could start your own thrift store.
Thank you, GG! I didn’t even show the majority of it! 😜 I accumulated so much stuff when I was running my booth, and I really need to get rid of half of it!
Yes! I would totally shop there.
I've been hanging on to a lamp for years because I knew one day I would use it in a creative way. You're peacock table is the solution I've been waiting for. Yes! Thank you, thank you.
You are so welcome! I hope you’ll send me before and after photos when you finish!
@@CanterburyCottage Won't be able to get to the project for a couple weeks but I will take before and afters and send them your way.
Hi Sherry! I have never seen a peacock lamp and I am so in love with the table -- my favorite ❤️. Also the mirror, green basket, topiary - every project is amazing. Thanks for sharing 😊❤️ OH, thanks for the peek into your thrift store stash 😉
Everything is beautiful, but I love the Peacock table. I love Peacocks. When I was little, many moons ago LOL. My grandpo would pick up all the Peacock feathers from the Denver Zoo. He even had one on his cowboy hat. 🤭
Thank you, Tonia! What a fun job-to collect up beautiful feathers. Growing up, my mom had a groovy midcentury vase full of peacock feathers in our home. I remember playing with them; they are actually very strong!
You rock!! Peacock table is the best. Second: wicker tray. I've been decopaging everything that doesn't move with chinoiserie paper napkins...Easter eggs, pumpkins, skulls, Christmas ornaments...
I cracked up laughing at your opening comment about not needing to visit the thrift store for about three years; me, too! I could probably open my own thrift store. Craft on, Sister! Thank you for inspiring us.
It's the peacock table! Followed by the topiary. But that peacock lamp turned to a table - WINNER!
Thanks so much, Linda! 😊
GENIUS. I love Sherry that you see the glory in any old piece. You have an incredible mind. And I'm glad you create one of a kind projects. I stopped watching all the other DIT creators because they were doing all the same stuff. I'm so glad you have your own mind.
I just love when you do thrift to treasures. Your ideas are so inspiring
Thanks for the "beauty in the blizzard" or winter storm. Glad your creative juices weren't frozen. The table is my favorite.
I liked the wagon, the topiary (much more than the $300 one), and the peacock table. I think I liked the topiary the best! All of them were very clever.
Thank you so much, Suzanne! Do you have any idea what makes the Grandinroad topiary worth $300?!!!
@@CanterburyCottageNo, the brand and marketing? lol It is also 4 ft tall and can go outside, but still???
The peacock table is stunning! Who would have thought it was a lamp??!
Oh, thank you, Elaine! 😊
Your peacock lamp-to-table is amazing! So creative! Thanks for sharing 👍 ❤
Thank you! 😊 (That was my favorite one, too!)
With each new project I thought this is the one! When I tried to choose which was my favorite I realized I couldn’t choose, so I will say my lease favorite was the wagon! Blessed and calm days!
New to your channel. Have watched so many of your older videos.
All of these are so darling.
LOVED the peacock table!
I love all the rich colors you use. I used to be more farmhouse but the lack of color left me longing for something more; I started adding color back and it has made my heart burst with joy. I especially enjoy greenery. This video collab with Teresa and Julie is perfect and full of inspiration. Bravo!❤😊👍🏻
Thank you so much! I think we all tried to embrace the farmhouse look, and it was fun for a while. (Most of my interior walls are still painted gray-repainting is on the to do list.) I agree color makes me happy!
“ as you know , I’m a big fan of caulk” 😂 🤣 you crack me up ! Lol. I would never think of half the ideas you did for your DIY projects . I always thought I was creative, but after watching a few of your videos, I am not even close
Caulk does make an amateur job look professional! 😲
Wonderful and creative projects and my favorite would be the peacock table and the topiary.
Thank you, Sandy! 😊
I love that wicker basket, and the peacock table is fantastic! The topiary is so unique and special. I've been trying to decide what to put on my front porch after I take down the little pre-lit trees I use in the winter. I'm inspired to try my hand at creating a topiary. Also, you look stunning in black, Sherry.
Freezing here too. These are all great. The peacock table is stunning.
Thank you! 😊 (I haven’t left the house in days!🥶
Nailed it! That peacock table is stunning!
Oh, thank you, Helen! 😊
That peacock table turned out fabulous! Will have to keep an eye out for a similar lamp!
I always find nice table lams bases and wondered if they can be used as a table base, awesome idea with the peacock table and very well executed. Everything else is just as creative and gorgeous ❤
Wow Sherry! It's truly amazing what you can do with all the stuff you have in your stash! I wonder if I could ever do that? Probably not,.you have the best stuff. That Peacock table is so impressive ❤ I love the rub n buff for just the right touch but I am so drawn to the Topiary. It's stunning! I think your version with the transfers is so whimsical and happy. I love it so❤❤❤. Fantastic video, thank you.
I especially ❤ the tray, the mirror & the 🦚 table
Thank you, Angela!
My favorite was definitely the peacock lamp into a table! I love birds!
Birds are the best! With spring approaching, you can count on me to add birds to just about everything! 😊
I love peacocks, so the peacock table was my favorite project. You always do such creative, and unique projects. You have such amazing talent. Thank you for sharing with us.
ALL the projects are "unexpected" (read: creatively brilliant), but for sheer beauty I vote for the basket with William Morris decoupage. Peacock table runs a close second.
I am shocked-shocked!-that the rooster did not reappear in one of the later items, especially as he was a bird! (Said with tongue firmly in cheek.) The topiary was my favorite. As always, awed by your creativity.
I am just like everyone else.....I adore that peacock table! But.....and this is a big BUT.....I feel you when you do anything with birds!!! I have no idea why they speak to me so much, but I love the way you use them in so many of your designs....I am on the lookout for realistic birds now!!!
Thank you so much, Sharon! A kind viewer actually sent me several nice birds which was much appreciated because they are getting harder to find. Hobby Lobby does have some that are much better than the ones at Dollar Tree.
My favorites today were the peacock lamp table and tall finial.
Thank you, Mary! 😊
The peacock table came out amazing!
Oh, thank you, Angel! That was my favorite project this week, too!
Absolutely lovely ideas! So fun to know that we can really up thrift so many things. Instead of letting them go into the trash you make the best of everything you find😊
Hello, Annie! Bet you are glad to be living in Florida right now! Thanks so much for supporting my channel for so long. I really appreciate you!
Im so jealous, lol. Why can’t I ever find the beautiful napkins you find?
As usual, I love all your projects!❤ the peacock table? AMAZING!!!
Thank you so much! Do you have a Home Goods (or T.J. Maxx)? I always check out the paper napkins anytime I go there. I also have an Amazon link to some really nice ones from Amazon.
I'm partial to the wall mirror transformation, followed by- you guessed it- the peacock table! So creative!
Yay, someone chose the mirror! I felt that was the biggest transformation (not counting the topiary, of course).
You never cease to amaze all of us. Martha stewart has nothing on you🎉
The peacock lamp-turned-table is my new obsession!!! ❤❤❤ STUNNING and sooooo smart!!
Oh, thank you, Carla! I’m crossing my fingers that you thrift a peacock lamp very soon!🤞
Loved all your projects, especially the peacock table.
Thanks so much, Cindy! The peacock table was my favorite, too!
That topiary is stunning! Far prettier than the $300 one. And I love the peacock table, too.
The wire cloche is darling and I really like the little lamp table but the topiary is definitely my favorite. It is stunning.
Thanks so much! 😊 The topiary was definitely a work of love. I am not a great painter, so trying to paint straight lines around a rounded surface took me awhile! 😜
Painting the top of that wonderful peacock table glossy black would unite it with the centerpiece. It's such a great idea and worth trying on other lamps!
Hmmm, I’ll have to take a look. You could be right-black might be better than brown.
These all turned out nice although I don’t really like the shape of the mirror. Really loved how the wood topiary turned out! 💕
Thanks so much! 😊 It is a strange mirror, isn’t it? I think someone (with carpentry skills) must have made it. I do think it looks better painted white though.
I can't decide if my favorite is the peacock table or the finial! You did such a creative job in putting together all the elements and making both a cohesive unit! You have very inspiring ideas!
Thanks so much, Barbara! I’m so glad you enjoyed these projects! 😊
"I really don't think I need to go to the thrift store for... maybe 3 years"... 🤣🤣🤣 That is SO me.
But, we’ll both be at the thrift stores on the next decently warm day!!!😜
@@CanterburyCottage 👍
All the projects are marvellous ! My favorit is the small table with the golden peacock.
Oh, thank you, Christine! (Mine too!)
I think my favorite would have to be the peacock table! You have such a good stash of stuff! And a great imagination! Love your creativity!
I always chuckle when I see you get the hammer out. You are fearless! I just love your work so much. You make some of the most amazing things I have ever seen. Thanks so much. ❤
Fun way to go about creating this week Sherry - looking through your stash! You came up with some creative ideas and I thought my favorite was going to be the pretty basket. Then I saw the Peacock table. And then there was the topiary dupe. So after careful consideration, I ranked them in this order: table, basket, topiary. But it wasn't easy. Loved them!
Clever, creative, and beautiful projects, but the peacock table is stunning 💚💙🤎
Thank you, Robin! 😊
I love the way you transformed the peacock lamp into a table! It looks like it came from an expensive store!
Thank you! I hope guests to my home think it cost a lot. (Of course, I will immediately tell them it is a $10 Goodwill lamp!)😜
Oh goodness! The little table w the bird is gorgeous!
Loved them all but the peacock table is my favorite! Big surprise, huh?!
Thank you, Cass! Who knew so many people liked peacocks?!
Love everything! It is so inspiring to watch you take things apart and making them into something totally different and beautiful. Your detailed instructions are so helpful.
Awww, RIP Mr. Rooster 😢
🤣
I like the transformed round tray and really like the peacock table.
I always enjoy your videos.
Thanks so much 😊 You are so kind, Mary! 😊
I was so excited to see the rooster frame. And then you threw the rooster away.
Can't pick a favorite !
Enjoyed each one !
❤
