How to fix these Ugly Door Gaps

After the foyers tile was removed and replaced with hardwood we had these ugly gaps. We show how we repaired these with simple tools.

We try to use the same species of wood as the original jamb when doing these repairs if possible.

You do a great job freehanding that 45 degree cut. Lately I’ve been using a scrap with a 45 screwed to the piece I’m cutting off to use as a guide to lay the blade on.

My wife got a framed door from the habitat store and the bottom of the frame is coming off what would you suggest using wood glue

Absolutely. We always glue if the item is clean
