  • Mizong Quan Yilu, Lost Track Skill. This is the Songshan Shaolin (Shaolin Temple) version of Mizong Yi. This is not the same Mizong Taolu as Huo Yuanjia's Huo Family style of Kung fu. Songshan Shaolin has the Yilu and Erlu of the Mizong series.
    For more information about Songshan Shaolin Mizong Yi, check out Shi Deyang's instructional videos below.

    Same as Huo Yuanjia's Mizong?

    • @b.d.shaolin
      @b.d.shaolin  8 месяцев назад +2

      No, Huo Yuanjia's Mizong is of the Huo Family Style Kung fu (Yuanjia's family style kung fu). This is Songshan Shaolin's version of Mizong, derived from the Shaolin Temple.

    • @b.d.shaolin
      @b.d.shaolin  2 месяца назад +1

      No, this is Shaolin's version of the Mizong Quan. The taolu I performed is from Shi Deyang and Shi Deru lineage; 31st Shaolin generation. The one you speak of is from the Huo style kung fu, Huo Yuanjia's family style kf.
      Both carry the same name but are different in nature, as far as the taolu goes. I'm not familiar with Huo style mizong but both Huo style and Shaolin could carry similar movement and techniques given the "same name for the same method."

      @kristhomas4039 the name's Sebastian, and no I'm not a Shaolin Monk or Shaolin Warrior. I'm just a normal person, a martial arts enthusiast and trainer. I studied with Shi Deru, 31st Gen Shaolin Monk, in Georgia.

      You cannot see it because you do not have a background in Classical Martial Arts. You are under the false impression that what you are seeing here, is how it will play out in a real scenario, where real violence is directed at you. But that is not how it works. Each movement, and each transition has applications that can be used in various scenarios. And you cannot take what you are seeing at face value. The forms are designed to obscure the intended application. They are put into series like these to practice them all together for the sake of committing them to what most people call "muscle memory". We train in forms, or kata, to make the movements become a reflex, where you do not have to worry about what you are going to do. The way it is trained is that you breakdown each movement and analyze the possible technique variations. Then you train with a partner in the applications you discover - if you in fact have an understanding of the anatomy, according to the martial sciences. Westerners were not trained, nor taught in this manner. All you see is "kick/punch/block". This is a shallow understanding. You have to be taught by someone who has had this type of training from the older schools in China and Okinawa. Some of us were taught this way. Chances are you have never been in a real hostile, violent situation. I have used my Classical training to earn a living and have been in real life-threatening situations throughout those years. I am here as a testimony, though to you it may not mean anything.

      The main theme of Mizongquan is to "baffle the opponent with unexpected movement."
      You are facing forward and kick backwards, you look to your left and strike to your right. The footwork itself is extremely hard to read for an opponent.
      It may have been effective in its day, or maybe not. What I love is the theory and concept behind it.
