You could put limit straps on the rear end because you don't need a whole lot of travel for drifting so that way when you use the jacking point in the rear you don't have to go up as high, and when you have to disassemble the rear end you just take who bolts out on the axle and the actual will drip all the way down
Not to be internet car diagnosis guy, but if you increased the size of your fuse from 10A to 30A and now the ECU doesn't turn on it's possible that you fried it. If something connected to the ECU was pulling too much current/shorted initially and you kept putting bigger fuses in, it could have exceeded the capacity of the internal ECU circuits and let the magic smoke out.
This mans the undisputed goat of automotive youtube, been watching gingium for 7 years now - he's the reason i'm doing an Automotive Engineering degree and starting my first project car this summer. Never stop doing your thing Caleb lad
As far as the rear jacking point is concerned with the axle droop, you could always build a little latch of sorts (like a toolbox latch, but beefier) that will hold the axle at ride height as you jack the rear end up. All you'd have to do is reach over the radiator and latch it, then lift the truck up a couple inches instead of over a foot off the ground.
The fuse should only be powering certain items. Figure out which wires are going to that fuse and narrow down the source of the problem. Bad grounding point or internal shortage to a component could be a cause.
@@wesley00042 If the truck doesn't turn on without that fuse, the fuse is probably protecting the ECU/fuel pump/ignition. So he has to do some fault finding either way, nothing really gained from the aftermarket fusebox.
I don't know how you do what you do but damn, your fabrication skills are insane! Sucks about the wiring issue but at least we are getting some great drift truck content 😁 sending a ton of support from South Africa!
Absolutely stoked to see ya working on the drift truck still! It's how I found your channel a few years back. Looking forward to seeing the changes to the paint booth in the next video. 🤙
I know you're going for a clean/shaved engine bay, but running those coolant lines on the outside of the frame rail is pretty sketchy, as shown at minute 7:45. I'm just worried about getting into an accident and then spilling coolant, or even when driving by yourself and getting a leak. Still curious about the engine issue, but if you do make a new harness, I highly recommend also running it on the inside of the frame rails and not up under the fender wells, for the same reason of getting messed up in an accident or damaged etc. Cheers! Love the truck overall!
You are a unique guy and you have to be to be a successful fabricator. Able to visualize what you need and go make it happen and it certainly helps to have a well equipped shop like you have and know how to use all the equipment. I enjoy watching you work.
Main wire from battery that my guess because I have a standalone but mine is MAXXECU the ecu shuts off when it sees over current. My issue was that the alternator wire hit the chassis and shorts but the fuse doesn't pop but the ecu shuts off.
Love it bro, youre one of the few youtubers i check daily for videos. Most videos you manage to make it feel like we are chilling in the shop with you and its awesome. Keep it up.
I hope everyone can appreciate the level of this kids skills from when he first worked on this truck to now. I hate to bring up that mid engine build, but that was a lot of guys fantasy build for that chassis, the pain in the ass that that in reality they would nope tf out on that. You did that shizz. Props Gingium Oh yeah, one of those fans would be sweet in the living room, with Alexa and all.
I want a dreo fan for my garage. Love the truck bro. I love wiring haha. Power probe makes a bad ass short finder. I use it at work all the time saves alot of time. I'm a full time mechanic.
Hey Gingium, awesome work as always. 2 thoughts: - Can’t you contact the guy who made the wiring harness for the diagram? - You should try to have the front bash bar 3D scanned or something so reproducing it is super easy. This way you always have a reference on the front for panel and bumper alignment etc…
I would very much love a dreo fan in my sweat box of a shed, love that you’re working on the Mazda Truck again Caleb! Such a unique vehicle really makes me want one
The rear wheel needs to come out even with the front wheel, everything looks amazing but front wheels sticking out more than the rear is throwing me off in my opinion, but if you like it that way that’s cool also. Loving how the build is going and love the content you make. Keep up the great work and never let anything or anyone bring you down.
I want a Dreo Fan in my garage for my first home! I'd like to do some kind of AC unit but I love the idea of being able to control everything through a smart home. Would be cool to figure out a way of using that wired up to a temp sensor and have it going auto.
All you need is a tone generator and a sniffer for your wiring problem. Trace from the fusebox/fuse. The moment you learn to use or own a tone generator life is new lol.
Ugh, electrical issues. I feel you there. At least with something like worn brakes or a blown engine, you feel like you’re doing something. Spend 50 hours doing multimeter tests on wires and tape up an exposed wire, you don’t feel like you’ve really improved the build. It’s a pain in the ASS.
I want a dreo fan in my life for my upcoming deployment to Africa! This would help with noise discipline but also help when it’s still 101 degrees at night.
Just curious, if someone builds a completely custom wiring harness, why don't they take the time to write out a wiring diagram for future troubleshooting? Even if you chose the same guy to come and take a look at the wiring to figure out the issue, whose to say he would even remember what he did, and you'd still be back at square one having to disassemble the truck.
Don't be sad about the truck. Every time you roll a car into this workshop it comes out better. Watch Binky's wiring vids again a few times and you'll get sufficiently inspired to redo it all 😅
More drift truck videos!! Also if you want a project in the future I can bring my Miata it's a 89 it's like Molly help me weld in a roll bar/cage and maybe put dome gingium style touches in it?? Be so cool id help n pay for supplies
I want a DREO fan in my family room. I'm slowly getting the house upgraded to a smart home one gadget at a time and i think this will be a great addition, especially since i don'i have AC at home sadly.
Will the rear bash bar not have an affect on the suspension if it gets hit hard enough, Just a thought. Great content though as always, great to see drift truck V2 back
Alternator and regulator? Pumping out to many amps due to high revs? Disconnect and run on battery only and see if the fuse still blows. Then change alternator accordingly.
I want a DREO fan in my living room! I really do! I almost never watch live read ads on youtube but i am actually interested in these since i mostly heat and cool my house with heat pumps and my house is old so it's sectioned off a lot and i need good fans to get the hot or cool air circulating!
I'd use that DREO FAN in my 28ft travels Trailer that my fiance qnd dog and i live in full time here in east texas! It'd help keep my dog cool while we are at work every day!
As someone who narrowly avoided disaster with fuse/breaker I will tell you fuses and breakers usually go for a reason. You MIGHT get away with resetting them once, but if it pops a second time you need to figure out why it tripped. I just about blew up a tanker resetting a breaker blind. Don't do that man. Track it down.
@@Mouthy_Trucker unnecessary comment but if it makes you feel better, then I'm happy for you. The kids I teach are underprivileged and are 'in awe' of having electricity for a full day in South Africa.

REally HOPE the Fender Flares stay a "Square-Shape" to match the truck bodylines!
Box flares go hard
Yea, i think a e30 or e36 pandem style kit should fit, boxy
I think I commented this last video on the drift truck but like group b box flares would be insane
If suspension droop is an issue when jacking up the rear end, why not add some limiting straps, like some offroad trucks have.
Power probe makes a tool to find shorts in wiring harness I would recommend getting one
Used to work on lots of skid loaders, had one of those and it saved my sanity

Exactly. No point in rewiring when the fix could be something stupidly simple.
I third that....trace it back...disconnect everything on that circuit and add one at a time testing as you go
Or bypass the existing fusebox and run the ECU/fuel pump/ignition through an aftermarket fusebox since that's the most important system at the track.
