I think Cortana and Google Assistant and even Alexa (haven't used this one) has surpassed Siri. Siri just seems like a gimmick now, just like Apple Maps. After jumping ship from Apple a year ago, I haven't looked back.

Why did they even hyped and made commercial video of creators update of groove music maker and action centre new UI wasn't even included!?
Because plans change? It's not like they intentionally like to bait and switch people.
aprofondir I did not tell they did intentionally.They should fullfill the promise they claim to have in creators update if they have have a commercial video..Btw groove music maker should have been prioritised because it's a "Creators" update.
It is possible that something caused the feature to get pushed back. Like aprofondir said, it isn't a bait and switch or anything like that. Things happen sometimes. Unless you find something saying the feature has been canned, then it can still show up in a smaller update later on.

There are too few extensions for edge unfortunately, I love the browser and wish i could use it. But nobody's making extensins for it.

I do frontend web development and work with images a lot, so I need stylebot to write custom css styles, 'css selector' to quickly grab the css selector for an element on the page with a right click, I need hover zoom to expand thumbnail images so I dont have to click on images and wait for them to load in another page to see them. I also use an image download extension that allows me to download images by double clicking them.
Outside of that I use Facebook privacy extension so that I can read facebook messages without the other person seeing that I read it. I use TunnelBear VPN, and my favorite is toggle extensions on/off. A power button that kills all extensions when I need. Edge has none of these and won't for a long time.

A bit lame to add cortana to the setup screens when she apparently can't take any complex input like "the 5th one" (for wifi list) or "home account"...

It's funny the way news blogs are so quick to jump onto things like these.
I understand that I can't speak for everyone, but I mean, I haven't experienced an ad in Windows 10 ever. And I've been using Windows 10 since technical preview. Then again, what you do with your computer is your own business.
There are settings that control these things too you know.
@JayManLive The problem is MS expects people to disable the things they don't like instead of bitching and whining..
I did see that infamous ad for One Drive in the file explorer on my PC, and frankly, it's ridiculous they're putting ads in the OS itself. Yeah, there's a setting to disable it but it's so hidden away most people wouldn't even know it existed.
It's in the folder options under the view tab.. It's not right there in your face, but it ain't hidden under billion of clicks or require you to do tricky registry edits..
As for the people who do not know where to find it, that's where tech blogs are supposed to help you..
I have to say, I love the new setup system. I feel like a lot of people will find it annoying, but to me it feels like we're finally getting to the point where we actually do have the whole Star Trek computer experience...
How about an (optional) Aero theme? By default, it's "Modern", but if you liked Windows 7, you could switch it to Aero Glass, to make everything behind a window blurred, and make the windows rounded, and change the top-right buttons.

You can't disable the spying stuff unless you pirate an enterprise version of windows 10 (because you can't outright buy a key as a home user) and disable windows 10 updates permanently. Of course you could go into your router and block every possible ip address that collects the telemetry data from you (because microsoft decided to bypass your ip blocks on the operating system to their server) assuming we even have the whole list of ip addresses. Of course without security updates you then leave yourself vulnerable to unknown zero day exploits that need to be patched.
Have fun with windows 10.
Kuro is misleading you, these tools does not disable all the telemetry services if you are *not* on an enterprise version of windows 10. Some telemetry services can only be set to minimal (if you aren't on an enterprise version of windows 10), you must go out of your way to block the telemetry outside of the os environment or at the very least use a tool that can block the servers (that doesn't use the windows host file to block it) if you are not on an enterprise version of windows 10.
Microsoft just released a statement explaining what sort of telemetry they collect (assuming that is everything they collect but it isn't the first time they've lied if they are lying) unfortunately some of the telemetry is some very specific information. Such as, your ethernet controllers mac address and the serial number of your processor.
These are uniquely tied to your computer specifically, it identifies you individually. You can spoof a mac address but you can never actually change the mac address of your motherboard's built in ethernet card. I'd also take a wild guess and say that spoofing it probably won't prevent your operating system from detecting the real mac address on a hardware level.
Oh yeah and if you have wireless they also record and I quote *"Available SSIDs and BSSIDs"* which means if your hardware is currently looking for any available networks in the general area you couple this information with your profile crosscheck it with one of the google's data profiles. You know that by default most android devices logs all available ssid location information in the area (even with wifi is turned off) and sends it to google so if anyone in your current area is using any sort of device that has a gps built into it and has ssid information being collected if you are unfortunately enough to have any unique SSIDs that might identify you in the area, they can pinpoint a very accurate location of where you live just from that information alone.
No ip addresses needed.
Is this paranoid? Yes ridiculously so, but I just want to point out that if you're on the internet, you have no privacy and you have no anonymity and allowing your operating system itself to collect all this information only makes it worse.

I dont have a problem with my phone becoming more like my computer, I have a problem with my computer becoming more like my phone.
I dont like the program installation lock setting and I definately dont like not being able to log into your operating system without an account.

I want Microsoft to really combine the control panel with the windows settings app for the next major update. I also read about the project neon which is the overhaul of the ui, i think this will be in the next version of Windows. it's really different. Just like what MS did with the start menu for Windows 8.1 but they did not release it because that would be for windows 10.

However I do have a question: Since the new OOBE (Windows Setup) uses Cortana, how will the Windows setup work in regions where Cortana isn't available? For example, I live in Poland and Cortana doesn't work here.

Windows 10 default options = Spying and ads - USE "SHUTUP10" and pi-hole to kill that shit!
Also every major update they release remove options to disable all the annoying shit they implement like forcing users of pro to have login lock screen so they can show ads, and then make it a pain to remove it from boot login... just one of the many options they changed in the last update. I'm running pi-hole as my major ads black hole, so i don't get ads from M$ plus a tons of other sites, but i still can't remove the waste of time that they call lock screen (that curtain you have to click away)
If i just had the option to switch to a linux platform and do what i can do today. Thinking about running Wine or Crossover with a linux dist just to get rid of M$...

I can "bitch" all i want about M$ is trying to spy on me as a customer, if this was a video about a Samsung product i would complain about their built in access to messages i've never sent in the cache, or the latest keystrokes they could access with their reporting services, but that is beside the point.
I do run, beside the default ad-block and pi-hole, a hardware firewall that is controlling all in- and outgoing traffic, this way I control what i want to share. Beside this, on my phone I run custom firmware where googles and samsung reporting services are blocked as default and you have to allow programs to use internet traffic. Beside this i run a 24/7 encrypted VPN tunnel directly to my home network from my phone and laptop, so what ever isn't caught by the default permissions of my android system is blocked by my firewall at home.
If everyone did as you nothing would ever change but the more customers bitch about companies doing shit like this, the more they will listen. If everyone kept their opinion to them self, nothing would change
And yes I do have a Google, RUclips, Facebook account and even a few others, but who says that the info i gave them are correct? Just because a field says "Name" doesn't mean that I have to put in my correct name. or correct date of birth in the birthday field. I can count on one hand the sites that have all my correct info and isn't government related, and they are all bank related.
I would NEVER be so stupid to give them all my personal information or even the correct info.

well kind of, I currently have it disabled as far as it will go but you can never fully get rid of it. anytime you pull up task manager it will still be running. windows doesn't allow you to uninstall even through powershell.
u can fully disable it in gpedit.msc if u have a pro version
You can't disable Cortana without disabling the windows search functionality, please feel free to correct me if you have searched the vast dark web as much as I have.
You can use search without Cortana if you install Classic Start Menu, a nifty and completely free tool that changes the start menu to those of older Windows versions. You can choose between the Windows 7 look, XP look and several others.
The only problem is that the goblins at Microsoft hate Classic Start Menu with a passion, since MS would really like to turn their customers into products and sell their search data to the highest bidder. The Anniversary Downgrade uninstalled CSM and claimed it wasn't compatible with W10 anymore, which was a big fat lie. It even prevented the installer from running. But since Microsoft's goblins can't script their way out of a wet cardboard box, there was a very simple workaround. All you had to do was rename the installer file and it worked just fine.
But MS doesn't give up that easily. From what I read, the Creator's Downgrade makes it impossible to use CSM on some machines by crashing the Explorer repeatedly until people eventually give up and uninstall it. I really hope that it'll still work on my machine, because otherwise I'm just about done with Windows 10. The only reason I didn't revert back to Win 7 yet is that I held out hope it would eventually get better, but it only seems to be getting worse.

Praveen M why? Wouldn't you want further early updates after that? Yes ok it's for the tech heads and I wouldn't reccomend it to my mum, but if you want early updates just leave it on.
Will we get programs installed behind our back again. You know, those with in-game purchases, like candy crush. Programs that users never asked for, and where Microsoft decides that the users harddisk space is theirs. Will rights be taken away from the group policy editor again? like with the anniversary update.
Will certain privacy settings be set to default again? Can we finally easily remove programs and services we never use? I never use Onedrive. But I still have to keep that service running. It has a program installed, it's in the explorer interface, and it's in the tasktray I really don't need it. And more of it..
Will even more statistical data of usage of windows and the apps from the store be transfered to certain servers again. I really wanna keep you up to date when i watch a photo or do something else.
I was just joking. I'm already back to windows 7 pro, since the anniversary update debacle, where i realized MS don't give a thing about user preferences when it comes to configuration or programs. And when I'm finished with my windows only games, I can migrate to linux. :P Good bye, and have a nice day!
If you have the choice, keep running on WIN7. It still runs all the latest games. I do it like that, because I play arma3, FSX, and elite dangerous. All games that need windows. And with every new game I buy, I check whether it has linux support. So that when I ever wanna migrate to linux, I can still run those games.
It's a hard choice. Using the latest windows, and no longer have control over your desktop but running all the games you want, or reclaiming your PC back, and have a smaller choice of games.
Dual boot is also an option. But it's also a hassle. Rebooting, just for that game you wanna run. But it might be the best option.
Ooooh - Custom Colours, a "new" feature. A bit like what we had in Windows 95 and every version of Windows since until they removed it from the UI in windows 8....
When my laptop reached the setup part, I didn't know that Cortnana would greet me! What a shock!

Linux is snappier when browsing. My Core 2 Duo desktop runs much better with linux compared to my A8-7200P laptop
