Scribblenauts is the closest thing we have to a Death Note video game.
the Death Note God of Death who invented these cursed notebook had a stroke seeing these
I mean if you wanted to you could reenact Death Note in this game
"anything note"
There are deathnote games. 3 actually
more like an official uncle grandpa video game
1:you can do absurd things
2:you help people and also kids
Not only does Scribblenauts absolutely FUCK (its music especially rocks), it’s a phenomenal example of an educational game done RIGHT. It teaches critical thinking skills and expands the vocabulary of the player as part of its main gameplay loop, in such a way that doesn’t feel shoehorned in or that clashes with the game’s other mechanics. It’s not a textbook that been gameified, it’s just a game that requires you to learn in order to play. It’s probably one of my favorite games of all time.
I believe if you write "starite" in the notebook, the starites you get don't actually have any energy inside of them and won't be able to power the notebook, assuming that's how the notebook is powered in the first place
Yeah, there was also a glitch letting you spawn in real starites and it would just result in a softlock lol
It’s been like that since the first game
It actually does work, although, on only one occasion in the first Scribblenauts game. It's one of the endgame puzzles, which looks extremely daunting, perhaps entirely impassible at first, with the hint simply telling you to write "The Answer". The solution, is simply summoning a starite and giving it to Maxwell. So he CAN summon fully functional starites, they just...have to specifically be the solution at the time.
i remember theyd blow up in unlimited, i stg everyone tried this
What if you write starite magnet
This game was a HUGE part of my childhood. Long live my Nintendo 3DS.
Is also on pc
Yes!
Preach 🎉🎉🎉🎉 i loved playing this and drawn to life as a kid. I even have the spongebob Squarepants edition of drawn to life 😁🥰☺️
📝dead nintendo 3ds📝
@@Todaly everything on 3ds is on pc if you try hard enough 😈
Maxwell controls every single god from every religion. He controls eldritch horrors. He controls death and life. Maxwell is the most powerful being to exist in any media
Kirby could still beat him. He can suck up maxwell and or the notebook and gain its powers.
"Bugs bunny slaps both" 🗿
@@warc9caw604 You right, Maxwell can't control Kirby because of copyright
@@johnnyaugust5015 Bugs Bunny only wins if it's funny
@@thedigiboi the ideal ending
I'm genuinely kinda overjoyed to see somebody bringing this franchise into a bit more of a spotlight again, I'd played it so much throughout my childhood
Also you're so right, the notebook IS probably the most powerful thing ever, Maxwell by the point of Unlimited has true omnipotence basically
Also yeah fuck Maxwell's dad he caused Maxwell to go into situations where he canonically can die and presumably if that happened not only would he let Maxwell die but let Lily freeze into stone
It's his fault for giving his kids magical items before he taught them how to be good people
@Star Jelly Whatever
@@starjelly2287cringe
Maxwell's dad was smart enough to know Maxwell can never die with that Notebook being bound to him.
"Basically omnipotent"
•Go into your adjectives menu
•Write omnipotent in front of your name
•Enjoy omnipotence
Maxwell's notebook seems to have a single limitation outside "adult stuff" and copyrighted materials: he can't make starites. My stupid child brain thought it was so smart since I could just make them and complete all the levels. Apparently not, because he can only make FAKE starites. I felt so cheated and decided to take out my anger on those unsuspecting npcs...
I feel as this man could review doc mcstuffins and talk about how confusing it is and I would still be entertained
I have to agree with you there, a Doc McStuffins review would be hilarious
Yes i hope he does I’m intrigued
I'M INTRIGUED BY THIS IDEA
Scribblenauts has been one of the most influential games in my entire life. I remember that time I got 2 copies of super scribblenauts on my ds and was playing both copies to bits, making custom levels and trying to complete every wacky combination (plus the winged dotted bathtub). Then, a couple years later I bought unlimited and that expanded my limits even more, because I would spend almost entire days trying to make every custom character I could think of. And then scribblenauts unmasked, as quirky as the game was, allowed me to enjoy scribblenauts in the comfort of my 3ds, for more scribble action on the go.
I don’t normally comment on RUclips videos, and this may or may not be buried under a bunch of other posts, but as someone diagnosed with an above average creativity level, Maxwell and his entire series of games have truly left an amazing mark on my life. Thank you so much for making a video about this truly underrated game, and confirming why I stay subscribed to this underrated channel ❤
Yeah it was burried under a few posts
This game is so damn good
Also, considering the steam workshop, maxwell can summon pretty much anything.
True true
Not only is Maxwell one of the most powerful characters in fiction, he keeps getting more powerful in each game:
-In the first game, he can create and move objects and that's it
-In Super, he can now add adjectives to his creations to modify them
-In Unlimited, he gains the ability to alter existing people/objects and not just his own creations
-In Unmasked, the fourth wall no longer holds him back as the entire DC universe is now his to create
If this series had continued, he would probably control over every other franchise in existence and be emperor of the entire multiverse by now.
EVEN FUCKING GODZILLA?!
Steam workshop already got that covered ;)@@andreafuldecogamer
@@andreafuldecogamerForget Godzilla, what about CTHULHU?!!? You know, like the eldritch deity? The one that’s LITERALLY CANNOT DIE and WILL CAUSE YOU TO GO MAD AT THE SIGHT OF HIM?!
@@Darthbuddy nah the fucking void ghidorah from Planet eater
@@Darthbuddyyou didn't know Maxwell is already able to summon Cthulhu and Godzilla? You can even summon Cthulhu in Scribblenauts unmasked.
The funniest part is you can solve all the game's problems in the worst most terroristic ways possible, get the starites, and their father will STILL act like Maxwell learned his lesson. XD
Do you know what's even funnier? One of their brothers works with gangsters. The wiki even says that he might have some unethical dealings with them. Like the dad is teaching them a lesson but not the criminal brother??? Sure, the brother's greed got him trapped under water, but still, I'm pretty sure he still continues to do crime.
@@yeplife3135 Yeah but the brother doesn't have a magic book that can manipulate reality so yeah I understand the priorities... XD
Maxwell can defeat every villain known to man just by drawing literally any kind of terroristic weapon.
He'd just have to write "dead" and they'd instantly die
Oil Barrel Launcher was always my favorite scribblnauts weapon
I remember being a kid and just adding as many adjectives to a weapon as I could fit in. Like, "Big, strong, poisonous, firey, powerful, sharp, deadly, explosive, radioactive, fast, unbreakable electrified axe." And then I'd spawn a Cthulu with as many modifiers as possible and fight it. Good times.
@@metal_pipe9764q😊🎉🎉🎉😊f
I once spawned a bazooka
So his notebook is like the Death Note but somehow more powerful
It wasn't exactly the death note until unlimited where you're finally allowed to kill people specifically
@@TheLameNameJero adjectives were added en Super, actually
@@elianhg2144 While you're not wrong you cannot add an adjective to a person (like you cannot change an appearance of an already existing person), that gimmick was introduced in unlimited
@@TheLameNameJero oh yeah that true
It's death note but Limitless
I hate that no one ever considers maxwell when they do a "can X powerful character beat Y powerful character" bc maxwell literally controls life and death and all Goku does is just yell really loud for a long time and then hit really hard in the time it could take Maxwell to just write "dead goku"
Yeah, I agree. But dragon ball meatriders would probably still find a goofy ahh way to make Goku win.
Goku taking his note book would be the only way he could possibly win
@@CloverPillbug his speed would be his best bet but "dead goku" isn't a very long thing to write
@@JaxontheOkay If I write "dead Goku" wouldn't it just summon a dead Goku body, leaving the actual Goku alive?
@@Nico_com_c well maxwell's notebook in the later games allows him to add adjectives to things remember? how that works isn't clear but the notebook seems to know. if he just added the adjective "dead" to goku he'd win
in regards to bizarre combinations you can create in this game, one time, while playing around with it, i created a "depressed man" and gave him a "gun" leading him IMMEDIATELY kill HIMSELF - so yes you can really do anythin you want in this game. next time i think i'll spawn him a therapist
I am so happy this video exists
I have beaten Scribblenauts Unlimited like 4 times and still mess around with it postgame to this day, and I’ve also played Remix and Unmasked
It’s so awesome and incredibly underrated
I don’t think I’ve ever seen drawn to life mentioned in a RUclips video before, which makes it even better that I also learned it was made by the same people that made scribblenauts .
Finally, a RUclipsr I know talks about a big piece of my childhood. Even though the graphics were grainy they got better and so did the game. I do have some friends of my relatives that may have played a part in developing the game, or are just super fans of it. Never really tried to ask because I was younger back then. Good game, I wish to see this attract more people to it again!
Wow, Drawn to Life. What a blast from the past! I forgot how gutwrenching that ending was for 10 year old me
I remember the ending being utterly saddening... but I don't remember any of the ending at all. Just how I felt :c
Universe gone *snap* Universe back is a majority of DC crossovers. I’m glad you’re covering this. I remember there was a time when I couldn’t finish a level so I just spawned a cage and put the starite in the cage and then dragged the cage to me. Also remember that one level where the hint was just a developer rambling about why a cup of Joe means a cup of coffee
With this game being a Warner Bros. property, Maxwell needs to be in Multiversus!
It's too bad that game is dying
dead game
@@thepotatotaxi2430*bro, why’d you write that in your notebook?*
Temporarily dying. It will be back soon.@@buckboy6769
With my original DS my first 4 games that I ever owned were: Nsmb, Sonic Rush, Starfy, and Scribblenauts. Probably some of my favorite games that still hold up well to this day. Thanks for this video :)
My favorite object, and probably what I have used the most, is an indestructible immovable plank. Next to that is a fast flying tank.
MAXWELL: *writes "dead dante dmc"
Dante DMC: ima be honest *royal guard
in Unlimited most puzzles where you need to get past a character without harming them can be solved using the word "alprazolam", which is the generic name for Xanax
the only reasons Maxwell was never added to smash is because its impossible to nerf a character who can counter that nerf
I remember making a Super, ultra, speedy, powerful, awesome, one shot, laser, tiny, freezing, fire breathing machine gun in unlimited and it was insane 😂
Thank about how easily Maxwell could beat any character just by writing dead ____ or atomic bomb.
Don't forget the legendary "nonexistent".
Or black hole@@epicboy0999
You should do a video on the lore of Poptropica
i love scribblenauts!!!!!!!! I still have super scribblenauts (i used to have drawn to life as well but idk what happened to it). Fun fact, super scribblenauts was the main way I learned how to spell! Whenever I wanted to spawn something in, i would ask a family member how to spell it and eventually I just memorized a bunch of words
actually he can't make more starite because when you write starite into the book you just get a fake starite. Because otherwise you wouldn't have to do the puzzles you could just write starite in at the start of every level. Y'know. Game design.
Good video!
The lore in these videos is soo good
Kirby travels to the JoJo world and uses pale snake to give themself the stand bohemian rhapsody, then uses Bohemian rhapsody to summon Ben10 and the most powerful thanos, takes ben's omnitrix to turn into alien X so he can take the funny hand-sock from that one thanos that ate the one above all others and then eats maxwell's book, boom, most powerful character ever
THIS is the content I subscribed for!
Lol breaking the noodles at the end XD
Such a fun watch, I really love that game. Never thought of how ridiculously overpowered dude is tho.
One of those things that sets your imagination wild. I cherish this kind of media
YAYAYAYEYAYEYA I FUCKIN LOVE SCRIBBLENAUTS
the franchise is so slept on and i'm so excited that someone even mentions it.
All the fun of a sandbox game, none of the morally gray areas, and responsibility for your actions! It's paradise
Damn came here for "hehe Maxwell can beat Goku" and was hit with "remember depression the ending?" In under a min.
Fun fact: the youtube channel mega64 has an easter egg in super scribblenauts. It just summons a sign of the channel name if you type in mega sixty-four
This guys gonna eventually cover that one mickey mouse video game where he can erase and create matter with a paintbrush
I never even got that far in the game, yet I still love Epic Mickey so goddamn much
i remember the scribblenauts series well and i have fond memories of it. I think it was scribblenauts remix that i had on my amazon fire tablet as a kid
i would pay all of my real actual money for a choopo video on drawn to life
Scribblenauts is GOAT, I loved that game as a kid.
"And now, I'm Italy's most wanted.
Again."
Love these videos so much. I'm happy that I'm not the only one who thinks of how wacky some games are lmao
1 of my best memories of Unlimited was tricking the vampire in the restaurant. I served him ‘garlic juice’. The game counted it as a success, even though it got him angry and then ended him.
can't believe this guy has a literal upgraded version of the Death Note
i still can't believe you had 4000 subs when i started watching you truly an amazing job choopo well done
this was randomly in my recommended and i have to say that i absolutely LOVED playing this game when i was younger
Another weakness of him is presumably if a wizard or something could turn him illiterate, since then he can't write or understand the words he need to make the book work.
Though it depend wether the book is literal or basically just the intention of wanting something specific is enough and since "Everything" worked, I guess it technically is doing just that
i just get so excited when you upload :)
Drawn to Life!! Nostalgia! Good video btw
Scribblenauts filled my 10 years old me of so much megalomania that is the reason why I like developing video games.
I want to be god of my own worlds. I decide what is good and what not.
And I'm Italian as well, so beware.
You forgot the part where he can only invent so many things before the "things bar" fills up
bro you brought back so many memories i forgot
What if the book is limited by Maxs understanding of reality? Would explain a lot
im so happy you made a video about this game :)
Scribblenauts is the thing that put the Domino effect in motion that led me to pass (with flying colours) an English exam in a quarter of the time allotted due to an unfortunate case of diarrhea that was so intense it caused me constant cold sweats. The rest of the exam time was spent as gou'd expect.
Great game series, would recommend!
dont let this stop you from making a video on max, from max and ruby still
I love how Italy is the bad guy in his stories
I remember getting the original at the shops and cracking it open on the train, it was magical.
this video shows me that the best thing to wish for if you have a genie is just to wish for the book from scribblenauts but without limits
4:31 I knew about the Anti-Monitor because he was responsible for one of the Crises
I love Scribblenauts so so much for its goofiness
Where was maxwell during the Iranian missile crisis?🤨
Wish my games didn’t get stolen. This was my first 100% game, did the same with super! I had around 900k ollies on the first game, sad that progress is gone now
For someone who is on youtube you just want attention, upload a video of your game if your being true.
Next time we will find choopo trying to break out of the Italians’ prison!
As a DC fan I spent so much time playing Unmasked on my 2DS
You can fr just add an adjective to anything and just make it gone so he can defeat anything
I had the second game.... this brings me so many memories
I didn't know there was more than two games, and I only played the first, but I loved it.
Yea, I accidentally called Ramen “Pasta” in front of an Italian, needless to say I’m being executed in a week
Dude just write "dead Italians" in your notebook smh
Woah woah hold up dude, I'm Italian too. I'd like to live thanks.
@@The_D_ray Sounds like a skill issue, just stop being italian
The Italians being just....actual italy made me laugh way to hard
Scribblenauts and the sequel are games I always got from Family Video for getting good grades. Never actually owned them :( but they were always fun as hell
I had to do so many chores to buy scribblenauts mobile on my kindle tablet 🤣🤣
As an Italian, choopo will no longer be with us.
Scribblenauts Unlimited was the best and I'll just put "dead" on the people that are just annoying me and or I just hate.
Good times man, good times.. definitely didn't give me bloodlust in my future years
DRAWN TO LIFE MENTIONED LETS GOOOOOOO
I watch your videos to sleep thank you for these
Okay but I totally forgot how sick buzz monkey jungle party 2 was
Make that Poptropica lore video, or I'll turn your bedroom into a kaleidoscope disco ball rave for gummy bears.
One of my favorite games on my DS i hoping that one day they'll make another one
0:20 *Scribblenuts!*
scribblenauts was the first ds game i played, i was like 5 or 6 when i first got it lol
i always tried getting batman but it never worked so i guess i know why now lmaoo
also idk how i didn't realize maxwell is so fuckin op what the hell💀
As a kid I loved the problem solving in this game so much! But I also committed a bunch of war crimes...
Loved this game! I played it barely knowing English lol it made it so challenging
I like how Maxwell also has access to Konami properties if he’s Japanese.
He has access to Gradius, MGS, Tokimemo and even Love Plus.
I need a new scribblenauts with some sort of Chatgpt/midjourney like rn. shit would go hard
"Maxwell is a kind kid"
Also Maxwell: Casually summoning eldritch horrors like Cthulu, or *literally* Satan, Nuclear Bombs, Blackholes, World spanning Floods, Time Machines, And God forbid.... Explosive puppies.
*"Zeno from DBS is the one The most Powerful beings in Multiverse"*
Maxwell: (rewrites "Zeno" condition to "Dead")
(Zeno suddenly drops on the ground and lie dead (for sure its canon death))
Grand Minister: *WTF?!?*
Maxwell: guys i killed zeno.
Grand Minister: you...
Maxwell: (rewrites "Grand Minister" condition to "Frog" and "Powerless")
(Actually Grand Minister turned into frog and completely powerless, in blink of an eye)
Future Zeno: wow... you look more powerful than me.
Maxwell: (actually drags Future Zeno with cursor into Trash Bin icon, killing it instantly)
4:29 bro is a whole A list villain
You've inadvertently sold me on a Scribblenauts live action movie
Now what here the parents doing to have over 40 kids?
I just noticed
Maxwell is like the Human Strawberry Crepe:Both him and Strawberry Crepe Cookie Harm People just because the wanted to Play
Maxwell has a Similar Hairstyle as the Lamb(Cult of the Lamb)
This game is so nostalgic!
Scribblenauts: alcohol's a nono but eugenicists and giving a depressed person a gun of which they'll aptly shoot themselves with are a-okay 👌
I have scribblenaut unlimited on steam and i love it 😭😭😭
