Having recently watched this in full, I can understand why the late great Sir Christopher Lee once called this his favorite cinematic rendition of the Dracula legend.
One thing RUclips is good for is familiarizing people with versions of Dracula like this one and the Louis Jordan version. With soooo many channels and streaming services available it’s hard to believe you don’t see stuff like this more often. Loved this version as a kid. Palance was really scary and physically intimidating as well. This gives a good representation of Dracula’s physical strength and physicality. He’s underpowered in a lot of versions. Even the Hammer ones he gets tossed around by mere mortals. I guess it makes it a little more interesting than him just plowing through people. I like showing him as super strong. This version is never on American TV. Haven’t seen it in years.
I'm actually watching it now here in the USA. We have a channel on antenna TV called Movies! Oh yeah, love this version too! Also scared me like no other, back in the 70's. Heck it's still scary lol.
One of the best Dracula adaptations

Jack's overpowering presence and actual stature made him an actor of believable malice...one of my favorite roles.

This actor is more dangerous than Christopher Lee's Dracula.
Stayed in the manor last month- top hotel 😎
without ushering a single word this dracula gave me the creeps and you could see it in his eyes the contempt he has for humanity
Jack Palance is the best Dracula
