My friend has a roomba... his dog pooped in the house one day....the roomba took the poop and smeared it alll over the house....LMAO
case closed...for me at least
Lololol I think that robot would make a good prank pal
hahahahahaha. I'm sold. no robot vacuums for me.
+Rene Castro
How often do you poop on the floor?^^
Celisar1 LOL if you have a dog, beware...
The regular vacuum can't carry cats.
I like Regular vacuum better than Robots
Took me a good 2 minutes to realise they were the same person
or twins?
I thought they were twins
@@Irondiesel it's REALLY well edited, but at one point, you can see her point and her finger disappears.... but yeah, the script, acting and timing/editing were spot on
I think they’re twins look at the end
@@im_ya_stepfatha5252 same person. Her name is Lauren Goode
Absolutely brilliant editing and charming presenters Kudos!

I am disabled and the Roomba is really helpful for me! I also have a cat so daily vacuuming is necessary.
Dyson is not a regular vacuum cleaner, is high end vacuum!!
Try a sanitaire and you see a high end vacuum.
Ive had one its BEAST
+Train Man ummm no Sanitaire is an industrial vacuum that is terrible when it comes to filtration. it should be called UN-Sanitaire!
i have a dyson and it kind of sucks, no pun intended. my husband is getting me the roomba for christmas and i cant wait! i just hope its worth all the hype, does anyone have it and does it work efficiently??
I'm also looking forward to not having to spend so much time cleaning! i stay at home with my kids and dogs, so believe me, i spend ALOT of time cleaning the floors.
Frankly*, YOU'RE adorable, Lauren.
*don't call me Frankly
This style of review is pretty good because it lets pros and cons be interjected in ways that can't really be done when a single person is reviewing something. But I hope that Lauren still does a few single reviews between these, past highlights being her Nexus 6P first look.
Like this one? ruclips.net/video/g-8rI7pbkCo/видео.html
you guys should do more comparison like this. time save with all the details.
Don Lew
I love this versus series!
Cnet? do you mean the Verge
I love her
With Twins!
What twins? I only see Lauren.
She not a twin?!
Plot twist, Lauren Goode *actually* has a twin and they've been fooling us this whole time.. Genius.
Wow, never heard that one before.
What do you mean? Thought that was her twin the whole time.
So this is not edited.....
AuthenTech - Ben Schmanke if u go to the Description it only says Lauren Goode . Mystery Solved
DUH SHE WOULD HAE TO RE-COLOR HER HAIR FOR EVERY PRODUCT VS HE DOES!! THAT ONE SIMPLE THING TELLS ALL, JUST SAYING OLD ONE LEGGED JOSEPH T RETIRED NAVY
Its simple. Make all the corners in your house round and install a small elevator.
I agree, a piece of cardboard on stairs works for a Roomba so it can go up
A Roomba Ramp.
Gran's Stuff Do you know how much money that’s gonna cost?
Kayla Hues don’t bring your logic around here... shoo shoo
Ashrune lol
You didn't even compare suction power😒
it's more about how they 'feel about it' then any sort of reality based information. You see, if she 'feels' it's better, then case settled, it's better regardless of facts to back it up. Sounds quite typical if you ask me.
The roomba doesn't really have suction power, it uses brushes.
I'm very immature
@@MathieuGosbee it has
A Dyson is never "a fraction of the price" of anything. If it has a competitor, they'll make it more expensive, even if they don't have to.
The apple of vacuums
Smooooth More like the Monster Cable of vacuums. At least Apple's build quality is top notch. Dysons are made of plastic.
Because a steel vacuum with glass dust bin would be practical. Idiot.

tomtalk24
Uhh, Kirby and Royal vacuums?
Die cast aluminum body and fabric outer bags with top of the line filtration.
They'll last you 25+ years if taken care of.
Lauren Goode: MAKE THE VERGE GREAT AGAIN!
problem with roombas and similar robot cleaners is that they cannot clean into corners.
This is getting annoying now
Don't watch it then?
It's kinda annoying when you see these videos in your subbox and you realise that they could use the time they spend making this video to make better content instead. I would love to see a comparison between dysons and roombas from the verge, but they lower the quality of video by adding the character with the dumb smile and arguments like "well people call their roombas names. Mine's named truman".
This series seems to be liked by most, so it isn't going anywhere. That doesn't make your argument valid though
SkizzleSnizzle you seem to be in the minority. I like it.
SkizzleSnizzle I'm not arguing I'm watching it and having fun.
The Verge clones women 😱
"Dyson" cause Im a grownup😂😂😂
H& M or both, roomba can do the everyday cleaning. Once a month run the dyson.
Burn. 🔥😂
What a quality series! I love the gimmick and as a person who's tried to do split screen 'clones' before Lauren is a very skilled actor.
This comparison is invalid. Firstly the acting is pathetic and does not simulate real life. I mean, pulling the cord of a vacuum for no reason while frowning? Com on! Welcome to real life where people *don’t* do this. Plus that model is outdated, even for 2016!
Lauren is really Goode at these videos.
I bought my mom a rumba and it’s awful what a waste of $300 might as well just buy a Dyson or a shark
I gotta say, at first it was kinda annoying, but this series of videos with Lauren Goode have become my favorites. Getting better with each installment.
these versus series are awesome.
also, Lauren is looking Goode
You really put a lot of effort into these!
I'm so confused are they twins or she the same person using editing ?
...
They're twins, r u blind?
+Fermin Um it's actually the same person hun
The stairs are important to clean the old fashion way is about the best in my view
"You look like you have a lot of cats"
ROASTED
Sorry that cleaner cant do stairs
It's easy... I have a Roomba that vaccumes 3 times a week. And I have an old Dirt Devil that I use for spot cleaning.
The Roomba doesn't do your cleaning for you. It just makes your weekly cleaning easier.
That's the oldest dyson from 100 years ago
Alright c'mon at least get one of the newer dyson models. That ones almost ten year old now!
Lol right. I wouldn't trade my dyson dc39 animal for anything lol.
Newer isn't always better. I have a Kirby from 2003 and it still out performs a lot of modern vacuums.
A roomba is a thousand times easier to take up stairs than a vacuum.
The roomba is better in every way, but costs a butt load.
Order on Ebay! I just bought a store returned 801 Roomba for $129.00 and free shipping. I've bought the 531 for $18.00. Great deals!
A roomba is more of a glorified broom. It doesn't have much suction, but it does totally replace sweeping the floor with a broom. I have four cats, indoor only, and lots of cat fur. I am totally happy with the roomba, it sweeps all my floors two or three times a week, and when I want a deeper clean, I haul out my vacuum and vacuum. With a wrecked back, the Roomba is absolutely the thing you want in your house. P.S. Hey you two in the video, both of your arguments and statements are valid, and in fact, Roombas and vacuums are apples and oranges, not really comparable at all.
Anyway you always need clasic vacuum clenar :)
But robot vacuum cleaner are great for sometime.
PS: LG (HomeBot i think) or Samsug vacum cleaner alre cheaper and better, than roomba...
I vacuming every day :) i have 2 dogs :D
For this i wich i have robot vacum cleaner to clean house somtetime for me.
The only reason I watched this is because the Laurens did the review. I do not need a vaccum cleaner. Thumbs up if you agree!
Hey I use a traditional vacuum and I clean my house which is one floored I clean it once a week
It would be nice to have one set to vacuum daily and a regular vacuum cleaner for deep cleaning once a week. My allergies might appreciate this. 🤔
I hate it when I get surrounded by all my roombas.
These things + dogshit = the apocalypse.
So I chanced upon this series just now, and just love it! Love the fun way in which the comparisons are broken down. And got to admit- that's some great acting!
1:59 Uhh, Dyson has a hygienic bin emptying.
Roomba+Hand held vacuum is all u need for a clean house
next thing you know they have machines that do our laundry for us and wash dishes for us smh
Actually just watched a video of a laundry folding machine at CES this year.
EDITING TO THE NEXT LEVEL! But i still don't like these videos, Sorry lauren.
But does it have good suction ?
Forgive me I don't watch this channel a lot, but I just noticed 5 mins into the video that it's the same lady, I think 😔, very good camera work 👍
This is pretty good!
The problem with the room a is that it's "stupid", it just bounces around, and sometimes after half an hour there are still dusty spots in a room. It works fine in dream apartments with no objects in the way, but in real life it isn't good for rooms where there's stuff stacked or tight corners like kids bedrooms. You NEED another cleaning method if you have a roomba: it doesn't take the place of a vacuum, it's just an extra. Get a Vorwerk Folletto (or whatever it's named in your country): it's very pricey, but it's another cleaning experience
The Folletto looks like a rebranded Neato botvac, love the smart navigation and suction on those things. Only downside is the noise.
I'd take the Dyson in a heartbeat
We've been using Kirby vacuums in the funeral homes for as long as I can remember. I'm going to stay with them. The disposable bags take a long time to fill and don't lose suction. I don't think a Rhoomba could do the job of picking up flower petals and normal foot traffic. I was born with a vacuum in my hand, as my parents had me cleaning and cutting grass as soon as I stopped crawling, lol.
Same with me. I have a Kirby that is over sixty-years-old and it still works great.
I really miss Lauren.
am i the only one who wondered the entire video if it's 2 women talking or just one being doubled through a video effect?
i couldn't help myself but think.... 2:33 "i vaccum a fair amount" :D
I have cats and this great for my apartment.
That Dyson is old as hell. They don't look like that anymore plus they cost way more than $250
You can get them for 280
Mine was $629!
So what that it's old? My neighbor still uses a vacuum from the 50's!!
Why is this annoying woman growling instead of talking? Is there something wrong with her voice?
.....Are they the same person or am I just racist?
Also how the does the $900 robot not go up stairs!?! I mean yeah I don't go up stairs either, screw all that but I have the capability and I do not cost $900!
u cost way more than 900$. look at the price of the organs you need to make u function
Dyson is better
We have 3 dysons a cordless and 2 cored ones I we called the Derick
Try the new Dyspn 360 eye robotic vaccine vs the Roomba
If you have a dog with long fur( like golden Retriever), the hair is going to clogging your Roomba. I have to disassemble the whole brush assembly and, the funniest part? I have to use a "dumb" vacuum to suck out all the unreachable hair and dust.
Had a roomba when they first came out. Expensive! Mum got a Dyson. Much easier. A mere human can operate a dyson with ease. Amazing, eh? Oh, yea,....the dyson has some very user-friendly tools that can be used to clean difficult corners and nooks and crannies.
The only negative of Roomba is its price, everything else has no real competition. I had a borrowed Roomba for a while, and it's awesome. One less chore to do, and those who live alone, know how much time it takes just keeping the place clean. And it does a really good job also. Would buy it right now if I had money to spend.
Yeaah because most houses look big and empty with hardly anything in the way for the roomba. Nice echo in that empty house aswell.
Dyson all day
Best comparison series out there. A+ for editing
Is it just me or is this way of reviewing really annoying....
Thanks The Verge for giving the talented Lauren water filters and vacuum cleaners to review in the quirky cutesy 'oh there are two of us' style whilst your male presenters get to do normal adult reviews of modes of transport, phones, cameras etc. Disappointing.
I don't hate roomba... but it likes to tangle cords, get stuck in weird places, and or clean super deep into the carpet. They are an OK side-kick, but won't replace my central vac.
Cool video, but does it keep your floors overall cleaner than normal?
I'd rather just stick with my Kirby and Filter Queen lol
I have a Shark IQ with a self-emptying base, no bags. I bought it "like new", so I got hundreds of dollars off. Less than $300. I love the robot vacuum for the most part. Yes, it doesn't do my blinds or my ceiling or my couch, but I love how clean my floors are. They aren't as powerful as the regular vacuum, but the floors get done daily and I didn't vacuum even once a week before. Very noticeable how much cleaner my floors are. Love it.
here in Australia you can get a vacuum from Godfreys for like $99
Well I love Roombas vacuums are the past, plus my son Camelot, doesn't poop inside ... so for me Roomba rocks!
Roombas get all the missing little hair he loses ... try to do that with a vacuum cleaner ... plus messing with cables me been 6'5"" is crazy!!! I hate cables everything in my house is wireless!!!!
Okay but if I have a roomba run every other day, then I have overall cleaner floors and no need for a bigger dustbin. Plus, it saves time as you yourself don't have to vacuum yourself. But it isn't something to use all alone, it is best to pair with a stick vacuum for above-floor cleaning.
plus I mean roborock have been making killer vac+mop combos
They called those letters “T”.
You don’t use an owl to dry off do you?
Did you watch My Name is Earl thinking it was about a turtle?
Soooo....
Button ,pronounced buh-ton buh-tin ,not buh-in.
Curtain, pronounced cur-tin or cur-ton , not cur-in
DYSON IS THE BEST
I would buy one if it was 300 dollars. Because it will cost me a lot in shipping with those 400 dollars.
I am only commenting on this video, not watching it. I watched the last one where you did this creepy side by side thing instead of just talked about the product like a human would. You're a good presenter and I enjoy The Verge's production, but please please stop doing this side-by-side thing where you sit with yourself. It's completely unnatural, the interaction you have with your double and it just comes off as really creepy. I for one will not watch any of your videos where you do this creepy gimmick.
compares brand new roomba to an ancient dyson.... nice heavy *slam* on the counter... but modern Dysons (dyson v8 was around during this video) weighs 6 lbs vs a modern i7 roomba with wieghs 7.5 lbs... the newest dysons are lighter than a roomba...
This video is awful to be honest. A Roomba is not made to replace a vacuum, it is make to supplement a vacuum. That means that you don't have to vacuum as much, and just because you have one doesn't mean you can't have the other. It didn't explain anything that most people didn't already know, I would say watch LinusTechTips's video on this.
The important thing is the roomba just isn't very good and doesn't replace a vacuum completely. The roomba is good as a luxury item that will clean most of your floors more frequently than you and a vacuum will. But it doesn't replace a vacuum.
A recent article says people spend the happiest when the purchase saves their time, so yes, you are buying a dumb robot compared to a very intelligently driven upright vacuum, but according to reviews, most owners are happy. They say time is the most expensive commodity. I should be advertising for iRobot :D
Roomba's are usless if your house is over 700 square feet. my roomba would leave my room and die about 100 feet away from the charging base. everyday id come home to find it hiding under some new piece of furniture! Useless...
Got Roomba 630 for 70$ cad. Only thing is side brush module needed replacement which cost 15$ with shipping
You dont even compare the main thing that they both do? They vacuum! Which one does the better vacuuming? If the roomba doesn't at least vacuum a flat floor as good as the Dyson whats the point? Another fail Verge!
I didn’t realize it was the same person until the end when I looked at the comments...
I vacuum regularly but I'm getting older. If you consider the cost of paying somebody to vacuum for you, that's what would be a better comparison!
only watched this to see my boo, Lauren
I have a roomba 650 it was $250
I use the remote to clean when I'm watching TV and the kids come home and I see dirt or sand or what ever they bring in on the floor. I pause the tv remote my Roomba over and clean up the mess without havi g to drag the vacuum out and plug it in and clean then pack it back in the closet. Also who vacuums under the couch of table in the kitchen or dinning room? My Room a does. I never named any tool or vacuum or even a car so no name here.
both are extremely pricy , you can buy a NORMAL vacuum cleaner for 30 bucks and still does the same job.
The chances of two unrelated women both appearing in the same video while also ranking so high on the the "I need a good bit*h -slapping" scale is astronomically small. This has to be the same irritating woman doing both parts. There is no question about it.
OK, after watching a couple of videos like this, i'm pretty sure she has a twin
Both still need maintenance like removing long hairs and cleaning up filters and the Roomba or any other robot vacuum cleaner needs to be smarter and know when not to vacuum certain "accidents".
How about a review and not some women trying to host good morning America? I clicked on this for actual knowledge. Not your weak attempts at irony.
It's best if you work hand in hand with robot vacuum.
My roomba has been sitting on a shelf in need of a new battery for maybe six years now? It does a way worse job that a human with a vacuum cleaner, but has the distinct advantage of not requiring me to use a vacuum cleaner.
If your pet poops on the ground the Roomba will take it all over the place
how much longer are you going to be doing the side by side video things. It's getting tired.
When are these two planning on making out? I've been watching for like 4 minutes already.
You used a very old model Dyson and think it's comparable to a brand new roomba? How much did they pay for this review lol
