    1. Natural biodigretable pads are generally costly, 2. Menstrual cups are not that much easy to carry for everyone, 3. Clothes pads are sometimes not enough to prevent leaking during heavy flow....... So we girls have to go with commercial pads. But something we can follow : 1. Change pads within 4 to 5 hours; 2. During pads change wash vaginal area properly; 3. During less flow switch to clothes pads; 4. Drink more water during periods for urination...... And most importantly do not prevent urination forcefully.

When a lot of males are busy dismissing the pain that period brings and not seeing any need for period leave, here is a mature real man. Your video was really very informative especially the bit with Epsym salt. I am going to use that. Also thank you for pointing out that it is unhealthy to take a head bath during periods. I always avoid it because it really messes up the circulation of my body. Even for bathing I use lukewarm water which matches my body's temperature.

" when a lot of males are busy dismissing the pain that period brings and not seeing any need for period leave, here is a mature real man"
Majority of Men don't not dismiss pain experienced by women thats why men always do work that requires phisical labour and ask women to do work that requires less phisical labour.
Pad was also invented by a Man.
Men have already given women medical leaves/ they also provide flexible work schedule for their women employees.
That's why most top position like MD/CEO, which sometimes requires longer duration of work( 12-14hour) is don't by MEN.
      Please don't hate on Men.

I would even recommend men to watch this video as they should understand what a woman goes through during this time and stop saying this a taboo. I know many men are making themselves aware about it and even give their care to the women around them like their mother, sister, daughter, their partner and friends during this time. Mam please dont try to be over smart, indians always had profound knowledge about periods and there were ceremonies for young girls on the 1st day of 1st period.
Only after islamic occupation when women were confined to homes to save them from abduction did these practises were lost spl in north india. Please dont blindly listen to feminists. You can read the wonderful book "ritu vidya" by sinu joseph, about all indian practises and celebration of periods. A country which has a shakti peeth (kamakhya) which worships devi's periods.... doesn't need typical western feminist lectures i guess !!

Thanks for the insight. Few facts: India is a big land.
If some communities celebrate periods then you should make more efforts for everyone to know about it.
There is no harm in appreciating someone's intentions when misinformation is easily available nowadays.
Try to read a book on how to be polite and tolerate someone else's thoughts without getting offended.
I hope you will do more to spread the period information politely in the world 😊

The first entire day i used to scream on top of my voice, second day i would look like a group of people bet the shit out of me and threw me on a road , 3rd day i would be lying like a corpse and only stood up going to the bathroom.I got married at the age of 26. My husband saw me screaming in pain, Finally he found a homeopathy doctor. I took medicines for 3 months as suggested, it was budget friendly and no side effects.. Today i travel and do yoga/workout on the first day of my period.. Homeopathy changed my life and the doctor was sent by God to me and the girls like me who is dealing with these problems.❤❤❤❤

One more point that might help- the deficiency of iron is a very common thing scene and often ignored my majority of woman unless it gets critical. If by any chance regularly eating greens is not possible, intake of triphala helps the body absorb iron much more efficiently.taking triphala as a habit would greatly help ,after consulting an Ayurvedic physician the right dose and timings for the woman body type.
Precaution that needs to be taken is not to have triphala during the period days as it would increase the blood flow.Pregnant woman and woman taking medicine to lower sugar must also never take this unless with the prescription of a doctor.

You aptly described in this video what our body naturally discourages during our special ladies days. I dont feel like eating oily heavy stuff n even a fresh carrot or cucumber looks so tempting. Clearly my body craves fresh foods. I also dont feel like a head bath on the first 2 days and now I know why. Dry coconut, til n jaggery is what my granny used to encourage us to eat when we started periods as teens. Again now I know why. You have cleared so many doubts in this video. God bless !
Only thing i dont like is using a cloth pad. Its extremely low absorbing compared to a commercial one n where do we dry it ? If not washed n dried properly then it's basically another invitation to disease which was why people changed to commercial pads in the first place.
My mom used cloth when I was little n its really difficult to dry them in small apartments. It's ok if one has a big garden or backyard. The apartment smells different when cloth dries n its embarrassing in front of other members.

Firstly, A Muslim Lady from Pakistan says,
Thank you for being so considerate towards us. And I feel very happy that i never made any of these 5 mistakes since the time of my puberty. And sexual intercourse is strictly forbidden in Islam during periods. Infact we stay away from partner until we get final shower, which is 8 to 10 days in total.
I never took a bath for the first 3 days of my periods even if it's a scorching summer day. I would just clean my upper body with the help of a wet hand. It's also not good that we flow away the blood over the bathroom tiles and make it absolutely germy for other family members.
I change underwear and clothes frequently and instead of perfume i use mild talcum powder to feel good and smell nice.
I strictly wash my hands with pure Dettol liquid instead of soap because soap can also be infectious for others. Or keep a separate soap for myself.
I use 'medicated Bandage roll and medicated cotton roll' to make the sanitary pad for myself, it absorbs amazingly and leaves no stains on underwear or shirt . By the way i learned the pad making trick from a midwife. The way they make it super awesome and above all it relaxes our vaginal bones that hurt horribly during periods. One more trick to avoid bad flow is keep 4,5 layers of tissue paper over your pad. Trust me it's a life saver and you won't need to change pad again n again.
I take soupy warm meals and drink luke warm water and turmeric milk for better flow.
Please take care of yourself and follow the advises of elders. Not everything is correct that the modern science say. ❤❤❤
    Hope that helps
    Thank you

I’m definitely going to be looking into organic pads. I notice when I free bleed (with a towel) at night, my cramps dissipate. When I wear a pad at night (the non-organic kind), I have serious cramps. I even wore a “nighttime” off-brand version of a pad one time at night, and my stomach started cramping so bad I had to take it off. I know they are full of chemicals.
    Thanks for the video!

Mom used to always say not to take head bath during periods, I always ignored it thinking it’s a myth.
Now I believe it when a RUclips video says so😬

You can experiment on it if you don't believe what our elders says. I experimented on myself. I did headbath on 2nd and 3rd day sometimes and realised that as soon i take headbath blood flow reduces too. Which is indirectly hindering the natural process and is definitely not good to play with natural process.

There is a reason behind that, actually it's right because if we take a bath during our period it will be problematic when it comes to pregnancy that's why adults say like that I also don't believe that from the beginning but after hearing from our doctor I came to know this and changed my mind 😊

Not 4-8 hrs but every girl should change pads after every 3hrs . If it's heavy or normal flow .

For the first 20secs, I must say "I love you" 😅 you actually do care and seem to be very honest and reliable.
I have a concern. Firstly, I am hyper allergic to dairy milk. It reacts so badly that i throw up. So, what can be a good alternative to haldi wala dudh at night? Plant based milk are not easily available here in my city. Also dry fruits are too costly to derive milk on a daily basis.
Secondly, i love to have greens but it increases indigestion. I cant digest green leafy veggies, no matter how it's cooked. The only way i can have green leafy veggies is to have in a blended soup form and that too once on alternate days.

Raspberry tea reduces cramps! I use two tea bags on the first day and my cramps are drastically reduced. I use the Celestial brand.
After trying the Diva cup (menstrual cup) several years ago, I will NEVERRR go back to tampons. Yes, they take a little getting used to, but once you get the hang of it you'll be happy you made the effort. I still keep panty liners handy for overnight, just in case..
