It's kind of crazy how Chris and Ben came in and just dominated immediately. They didn't just appear fully formed, they enhanced the other already great characters instead of overshadowing them. It's a masterclass of how a show can shift gears, fix one mistake, and change everything for the better.
Fun Fact: Andy's clip where he says "Leslie, I typed your symptoms into the thing up here and it says you have network connectivity problems." -- That was an unscripted improv from Chris Pratt that they loved so much they kept it in.
The cast believes it to be his best work aside from breaking the light switch lol

The addition of Adam Scott and Rob Lowe is when the show goes from good to great. They're a perfect mix, absurdly cartoonish at times yet grounded enough that it's not weird.
There's an interview with one of the writers of the show where he says the writing team for the show was furious when Chris Pratt came up with the "network connectivity problem" line because it was the funniest joke in the show and it was improv.
Chris Pratt improvised the "network connectivity problems" line and the showrunner is quoted saying "As a writer, it made me furious… The camera happened to be on him, he did it once, and I think it's the funniest joke that's ever been on our show." 😂

April was the goat of sarcastic looks to the camera… then along came Ben.
It's interesting: I'd honestly never considered how the flu episode might play differently for someone seeing it AFTER the whole COVID pandemic situation. Joking about a main character who's refusing to go home even though she's contagious (and even intentionally "germing up" an older coworker's stuff) maybe doesn't feel as cute or endearing as it did back then.
I mean it was always gross. But even after COVID we know sitcom rules, she might get a couple people sick but she's not going to kill anyone or start a global pandemic.
@@jerodast Oh sure, obviously not - but it still can feel icky and morally wrong, even if we know nothing too horrible will happen because of it. Sort of like how some of Tom's more pervy/objectifying moments come across gross and unsympathetic, despite us knowing that obviously it's never gonna lead to him doing anything TOO horrible to the women around him.

Most people (NOT ALL) think season 3 is when everything came together. I only watched the show because people wouldn't shut up about season 3. They were right. I then went back and thoroughly enjoyed the first two seasons which I stopped watching after a couple of episodes when the show came out.
Can’t believe you didn’t react to “stop. POOPING.” from Chris! One of my favorite lines in the whole series 😂

This show just started it’s insane peak. It’s not always this good but boy when it’s good it’s great.

Comedies are not ment to be taken serious. The office , modern Family , community , Brooklyn 99 , Parcs and Rec , all those shows give you a positive vibe. From episode 1 untill the end. ✌🏾

I can say this now without spoilers: Whenever I start watching a new reactor begin watching Parks & Rec, one of my first thoughts is "......Oh yeah, Mark!"
I forget he exists, and am suddenly reminded of his existence in the first couple seasons, literally every time.
Yeah first 2 seasons feel like a pilot season split in two.
This show is about to hit its stride but then again, so is sunny. Curious how it shakes out in your rankings. I’d probably put sunny above for its more unique comedy style but it could change by the day for me… I feel your dilemma jimbo

Leslie was really annoying in the flu episode. Her obsessive need to be in control was kinda off putting.
There are a number of episodes I hate Leslie because she is so overbearing and thinks she knows best.
