I've had 2 Diesel CRV's.. 2007 icdti and then a 2011 idtec es models. Fancied a change after 6 years of CRV ownership and went for one of the last Accord estates again with the tuned idtec engine i n type S form. Now had the Accord for nearly 3 years and looking at going back to another CRV. They are very hard to beat to be honest.

Great taste in cars - especially with the Accord estate. It was a shame that they discontinued it, and the Civic estate. Crossovers seem to have taken the place of everything; so it's nice to see the occasional Accord zoom past. I must admit, the height of the CR-V is nice though. What age are you thinking? Also, how did the 2007 and 2011 CR-Vs compare? It could be a potential upgrade for me.

Unless you specifically need an automatic, this car really suits the manual gearbox - less complicated to repair, better fuel economy and more control. I get 44mpg combined and you can easily overtake in 6th. It was reported that the auto boxes can have an issue where the shift from 1st to 2nd is too harsh. It's the sort of car I feel like I could put 999,999 miles on with yearly services and maintenance.

I have a 2010 idtec auto with 170k kms on. No problems with the auto box or for that matter with anything else. But it is worthwhile to have the auto box serviced after a bout 100k kms, mine switched gear much smoother afterwards.
