For the people talking about Brooks, you should check out the intro for the new Avenged Sevenfold song The Stage. It's amazing, he is a great metal drummer.
I don't want to rub it in, kids, but I saw them in 1990 in Tijuana. You can't fathom the energy and dynamics. No chasm between stage and performers. People got on the stage, danced with the band, stage diving, anarchical. Graffin was mid 20s. I was just 20. Good lord, I'm old. We're all old.
Dude , these guys have been doing live gigs since 1983 or 82 ! Fucking killing it still.....wow. My favorite band, and, I've never had a chance to see them. I will before I die.
would love to see these guys live. And the truth is, these guys are getting older and maybe struggling a little more than they used to, but come on! we all get older and we all struggle with things we used to do.
Oh dang, I miss Brooks Wackerman soooo much. There nothing against the new drummer, against Jamie Miller, he is pretty good, but Brooks was freaking beast and I mean it. But still - you Chilean people, you are monsters, I wish I could be on this show with you, the atmosphere had to be amazing (considering from this vid)!
Completely agree man, Brooks was phenomenal and brought so much to the band. Curious to see what dynamic Jamie will bring, but it can't compare to the Wackermaster
In south america and somewhere in Europe/Germany....the always have the greatest events and shows....they gotta do more stuff like this here on the states
Greg's voice really does go out midway through show and don't say it's cus he's old because 2017 shows he sounds great maybe he was sick or he just blew it out midshow
Before I comment the drumming... I have been a BR fan for almost 20 years. Im 26. Since I was a little kid I loved them. Bobby Schayer was the first drummer and the main reason I played drums and it's been 11 years since I've been playing. Brooks has done outstanding being technical. But you can't disagree to say Bobby was a solid song drummer. I think Jamie has got what it takes. Just give him more time. I can say if he sped his drumming up a bit, it would sound killer. Let's not forget Pete Finestone for drumming in SUFFER and NO CONTROL... as well as Jay (first drummer). I can back my entire opinion up if you watch my drum covers. Dont any of you guys dare be smug when I can honestly say if I was BR's new drummer, I could pull it off no sweat. Not a drummer? Don't try to talk like you're one if you're going to say Bobby or Jamie isn't good.
As a BR fan and a guitarist, I can say nobody gives a shit about Brian Baker. That dude is SO underrated. Can we give a shit about him at, at least for a day? That guy SHREDS! Jimmy Page can kiss his ass.
Brian kicks ass. Funny that now HE'S the one with all the energy on stage. Used to be Hetson. And Baker would just be hanging out shredding. God I hope these guys don't ever stop.
I fuggin' love Brian Baker, by far the best punk rock guitarist. When Brian joined the band and replaced Brett's heroin solos with tight, musically sound licks their sound improved ten fold. Still miss Hetson like crazy, he knew how important just playing straight powerchords was. Dimkich uses too many barchords and it's lost the punch that Hetson provided. Plus Hetson was the energy!

I agree but it actually is quite common to use double pedal in some punk fills(depending on era and genre), I think it's quite cool with a little bit of double bass touch(But not too much though)
So I'm a hardcore punker in my 40s grew up in SoCal with all this music what I realized that it's turned into a liberal hivemind and that everybody follows a leader and does is an individual anymore and punk rock was about being individual being who you were and telling everybody to f*** off if they didn't like it and now it's like if you believe a different way you're the enemy so in my opinion punk rock is dead
