A great tutorial on parts fabrication. Broken springs, bolts, and other hardware are apart of the business. We work with very old machines. Some are over 100 years old. Some of the repairs or extractions take sophisticated tools that normal small shops can't afford. At times we are forced to use the services of an EDM. Thanks again for your investment in time to make these educational videos.
Many years ago my son was in the high school band. One day he came home with a key off his clarinet. The screw had a post on it that was the pivot for the key shaft. I took the screw/pivot from the other end of the key to work where I determined it was a #0 80 tpi thread. I then made a couple of screws so that we would have a couple of spares but he never lost one again.
been a bassoonist for nearly 50 years. went to The Juilliard. plastic bassoon - um... no comment. your work - once again, nice job. of course, if this was a Heckel, i'd want a heckel screw. but, if needed, your work as a temp. show more bassoon work!!!
Good morning! I have 2 metal lathes. Most often seen and used is Sherline 17” between centers. The other is the Grizzly 7x14. I use the Sherline most for my small precision operations.

Precision engineering at its best, I'm loving these videos. A true master at work

Bassoon is still one that I am unsure of identifying when it is apart. You are mind blowing some people with this fabrication, keep it up.
Thanks for watching!
