Art, that was an amazing repair!! I guess that vice was really invaluable in this repair. Plus the oiling at the end will definitely help prevent any rust. Magnificent work.
Have the same problem but on an old french Lebret flute. It is more complicated because the rod is the one of the B foot and it is 14 cm long! Stuck in middle of the tube and really same method used to unstuck all keys and post. Now still have a stuck point in the middle of the rod!
I have similar problem, just found on the garage. My grandpa alto and tenor. Its conn new wonder ll. The hinge rod screw stuck, the pivot screw stuck. And missing 2 pivot screw. All parts is on the horn. Did this methode will work too on sax? I’ve try penetrate oil and let it penetrate until 1 week (each day oiled) then heating but thats doesnt work. It’s seems frustrating 🤣 Will try to saw slot and clamp vise. Thanks for help!
This may work on saxophones, but before you try this method you may want to try to unsolder the posts and see if you can get it out that way. I hope this helps. Art

You can teach all different methods, but your amount of patience and gentleness with fixing instruments cannot be taught. Well done.
Great video ! This has happened to me and enjoyed the tip on using the vise . Thanks !
Bro, this is really cool! I wish you could upload more!

So cool to see you post great stuff again !
Excellent ‘post’ reminds me that I’ve got a Yamaha at the back of the cupboard that has the same problem. Same key as well!
Los tornillos oxidados son todo un dolor de cabeza! Gracias por compartir tu técnica.
Nice to watch you work ... and I agree with Steve below; it's great to see how patient you're being (comes with a lot of practice, I imagine).
Very gud!!!!
It took everything short of an act of Congress to get that pin out! 😅👍

There are several other ways to remove stuck hinge rods. You just need to get creative to get it unstuck and do the least damage possible.
