And that black/grey combo looks incredible, I'm definitely aiming more and more towards a Sonnet (vs the Eighty) as one of my next boards, whish it was in stock though 😭

As someone who is new to the hobby but also bought a hot swappable keyboard that seems to need quite a bit of modding and changes to get to the sound profile I’m looking for this succinctly answered a lot of my foundational questions! I see so much content that assumes what you know all these items mean (mounts, plate materials, switches, keycap material) and what that does to the sound/feel of a keyboard - this is a video I’d recommend to all before venturing out into the jargon. Thanks!

This is probably the best guide I've seen so far. Because switching out different foams and mounts and stacks and plates and everything is what I need to do to even know what I like in this hobby. Is it possible to buy a a big kit and just test around with different stuff?
I wanna build my own keyboard from scratch but all the options give me anxiety.

@@Spiriax thanks. Yea. I personally like Mode boards, but you can buy anything that offers multiple plate materials and modifiers, so you can test out different builds. Switches and keycaps also will impact sound. All of it, for me, is what makes it fun.

@@MatthewEncina Thanks for the suggestion, I will keep it in mind! Thankfully I know a bit about switches and keycaps, it's the bigger peaces that's a bit puzzling to me at the moment as I've bought barebones keyboards so far.

A couple of things I’d like to add.
1.)Using a second kind of lube for your stabilizer wire like dielectric grease or Krytox XHT-BDZ is ideal. The thicker lube will last MUCH longer on your wire than Krytox 205g0 which is best used for plastic on plastic contact.
2.) hand lubing your own switches can be optional but I’m going to hard recommend if you go linear or tactile as this can greatly improve your switch feel and eliminate nasty spring crunch or ping.

Great additions. All noted on the build guide I made to accompany this.
