Nah we found out if he dies it goes back to the last save point so if he saved from there and then died he wouldve just respawned over and over and dying over and over, ik the helicopter came but morty didnt know that
For me the first moment in the show that really crystalized for me who Rick is was in season one. He makes a little robot that passes butter. Rick is the smartest man in the universe, he could have just done that and been done. But no. He also makes the robot self aware, able to understand what it is and why it was made and feel despair about it. Why? Because Rick is a shitty person. There's no other reason to do that vs. just making a dumb robot that serves the same function. I guess the robot's existential crisis of self makes the butter taste better or something.
So making the robot 🤖 that good it even has self awareness makes him a shitty person is shitty reasoning! If you make a kid & that kid has a crappy existence are you then are shitty person cause that's exact same reasoning you just gave. So if you don't give your kid the best life your a shitty person! Rick ain't a shitty person. It's that most are quick to judge him without knowing all the views of a situation except the first one that pops into their head. Look he just did some shitty thing instead of asking why did he do it people judge him for doing it! To me that makes the people judging him shitty not Rick.
I understand what you mean but yes, giving a robot whos only purpose is to pass butter sentience is a bad thing. He essentially made a robot slave. It's not the same as making a kid bc a kid's entire purpose is whatever they decide it is. A robot has a specific task, and usually aren't given then ability to think. I'm sorry, the show even tells you Rick is a shitty person. I love his character, even HE will tell you he's a shitty person.
