Muhammed Ali was absolutely brilliant here. He actually stole the show from Lewis. Articulate, quick wit and charming; Ali was a genius at promoting himself. There will probably never be another like him in the world of boxing. He was good for the sport. Not only for his showmanship but for his natural athletic ability and fighting skills. R.I.P. Ali.
it came over that way because ALI is irrepressible. and Lewis has his own show .ALI behind that mic ,would demand the camera stay on him.talk shows are all formula proven. guests come on to plug their latest film or fight, but they don't get to talk non-stop.Lewis paid him an appropriate comment, and he wouldn't even sit thru that .he IS the PT Barnum of boxing except that he often was selling himself, where as Barnum didn't have to dodge punches AND promote.why he ever thought he needed Don King (except to carry his gym bag) is a good question.
@@tonym994 Good comment Tony. Loved Lewis when I was a kid but got yo say he always came across as "Buddy Love" on his show. Bit disturbing how he effectively disowned his daughter who is homeless.
@@Chuckychazzathank you, but all our idols have feet of clay (no pun).ALI thought nothing of smacking a woman when she'd get on his nerves.but I don't think he bothered against his TAE KWON DOE belt holding wife in the mid-70's. and I think Buddy Love was probably closest to the real Jerry, anyway. It looks like Lewis is trying to put Ali in his place except that early on in the interview Ali plays dumb. I dont know what Lewis was trying to do. Maybe he was tired.
why everyone hating on Jerry? he's just being himself. from other interviews I've seen with Jerry he always comes across a little rough after all he's from Brooklyn
The network spent a fortune on putting this garbage show on. It was like watching your old uncles in grandmas living room. It didn't last long, obviously.

There will be few like him in the world of anything. If you haven't read it yet, read Jonathan Eig's biography. His story is extremely interesting.
Out of head
Jerry admitted it. He said I was a talk show host til now giving the nod to Ali.

Muhammad Ali was a badass
I would have to think that Lewis lost a pile of money on this fight given his arrogance towards a very cordial Cassius Clay.
Your right on.
I agree
Ali is so damn good looking!!

Lucky Ali didn’t give him a slap 😂

Yes
I see negative comment about jerry Lewis and Phil, why? They were excellent
Just shows more of why Ali was the GREATEST!!
Lewis is a complete fraud. Ali is an incredible man!!
