Everybody loved Run DMC when they first came out. I got my first Run DMC profile record at uncle jams Army they were passing them out 1983! The beats n rhymes were simple n hard. Maybe the more complexed rhymers didn’t care for their style cuz it was simplified but it made them a household name n international stars. I could see that because in the 90’s the panicle of the rap era mid 90’s there were simpler raps coming out we didn’t care for now look at it now. I think Outcast was the last great rap group. smh

Don Cornelius hated hip hop. It wasn’t bout whether he liked it or not. Back in ‘84 hip hip was still in its infancy but it was the hottest thing around at that time. He had to bring Run DMC, Whodini, Kurtis Blow, and The Fat Boys on “Soul Train”. Those guys were hot in ‘84.

To be fair Joe’s style was horrible was this particular fight. He wasn’t able to do anything here. His swinging from side to side didn’t give him any benefit. He hardly through any jabs. He was trying to get inside Foreman, but failed. Styles make fights. Because Ali wasn’t as physically strong, it was easier for Joe to continue his chase. But with George it was too hard.
