That ball of twine string is crochet thread for very small crochet products. I used to put a crochet lace edge on baby blankets.

Oh yes, I grabbed a bag of the paper from Dollar Tree too! I was thrilled! I am certain I have seen other colors of the glossy bags at Dollar Tree. I will have to make a point of checking in the near future.
I feel a trip to Canby coming up sgain...I need some of the bee themed papers from Paper Wishes. 😊 I also feel a trip to Deseret coming up in my future. It is my favorite thrift store here in Portland.
I can't wait to learn how to make the tassels! I have been wanting to make some tassel earrings and bracelets!

The ball of what you called twine is crochet thread. I think someone already answered your question. My mom had tons of it in many colors, she crocheted doilies, table cloths, runners and other things. I have all of it now and I don’t crochet, so I know what you mean about using things for other reasons. I use it for making little bows for my cards, kind of like bakers twine. Looking forward to seeing what you make in the bee theme. I have a huge shoebox full of those same cards and other all occasions that I’m getting ready to take to goodwill. I did save some of the pretty matching envelopes to use with my handmade cards. My brother and I used to get these cards sent to us from different organizations. They always wanted donations, but I never donated. I still get some around Christmas.

Great finds❤ I used thread that was on the spool when I learned crazy quilting it was called pearl cotton thread
