Matthew…. Watching your vids on the 1/48 Tamiya Phantom II. Twice - yes twice, I almost spewed a (shut up compressor) mouthful of coffee all over my tablet because of your comments during the building. I’ve been building for years and Admin a number of the ‘original’ modelling fb groups! You sir, are a hoot! (I just ordered TWO Glue Dot dispensers). Even my bride walks into the room and asks, “Is that the ‘shut up compressor’ guy?” You’re famous - in my house - buddy!!!
I always learn something new every time I watch one of your videos. Thanks for sharing. The Phantom is looking awesome. I'm always fearful of messing with Canopies, but will definitely have to give your technique a try.
the meditation that is canopy polishing. was a great episode to watch all the way! otoh i wish somebody could come up with a proper solution for the inherent refraction of them translucent parts like armored glass, sights, canopies and projectors for hud etc...
I too hate scribing/rescribing so have started to pre scribe some panel lines before construction.... While removing sprue location marks and seam lines I go over any panel lines that go across joints... That way when you go to clean up the seam you can restore the line easier
I noticed in this episode that I was holding my breath while you did some fine detail painting, just as I would if I were doing it. I bet I've been doing it with all of your videos. Force of habit?
About the focusing issues: wouldn't it be better to use a smaller aperture to widen the DoF? I don't know what kind of photo gear you use, and in what kind of setup.

You ever try microbrushes? You can get a ton cheap on ebay. You hit details and after pull the brush point off and use it to apply CA.
10/10 video. 10/10 cursing. Take that Karens.

Alclad armored glass is great for the windscreen.
16:16 you know they make good models when they refer an old damaged brush as fluffy f***ers, can I use that term?

красиво,аккуратно работаете...
Sorry to be "that" guy with a pedantic question...but whose black CA do you use? Is it one of the rubberized glues?
Ammo
I had the same question, so thanks for asking first.
I don’t see any of the modeler’s prime all the parts on the spru. Is that not a good idea?
4/2/22 and where are you? 😊
this is why you are the BIG DOOG.
All Doogs does is complain. Like he is on a rag 24/7. Never happy just nagging nonstop.
I think we need a Ukrainian air force model soon Doog! Please.........
