- Ingredients:
~ 3 carrots
~ 2 sticks of celery
~ 1 onion
~ 5 cloves of garlic
~ 5 potatoes (any kind)
~ ham (1/2 lb)
~ 1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream (optional)
~ 4-5 cups of chicken stock
(can substitute with water)
One suggestion and one substitute (for diabetics): The suggestion is that depending on what brand of pressure cooker you have (I have an Instant Pot), after you saute the vegetables, add a little of the chicken stock and be sure to scrape the bottom of the pot. If there were any vegetables stuck there, you might get the error code "Burn" during the pressure cooking portion. For the substitute, instead of potatoes, try using diced turnip/rutabega or diced jicama. They are far lower in carbs & starch. All in all, a great soup.
I particularly enjoy the chopping of the carrots... Well done.
I find the chopping very relaxing
Relaxing cook video! I'm definitely going to try this! Thank you so much!
Looks delicious I will make thank you for your recipe may God Bless 🙏
This would be a great soup to pressure can and have on your self .
I love bean soup. Thanks for recipe. I will try this.
Yummy!
This turned out delicious 👍 thank you!
You are welcome! Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Yum. I could go for a bowl of that right now. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
This looks so tasty until I am trying this TODAY!
What can I substitute for celery and carrots. I don't have them. I want to make the soup now.
Add some mashed potatoes to thicken soup. Makes it even creamier.
Is it ok to use the single cream? Also could I add chilli powder a little or does that takeaway the flavour of pepper ? Thanks
Hi, yes to both! Let us know how it turns out!
@@cookbook8959 it was absolutely delicious. I had 3 large bowls with plenty to spare. Thanks. Next time I will skip the cream as an option but will use it again.
Would have been helpful to add how much of each spice to add to soup
For even more flavor, buy a ham with the bone in it... chop off all the ham and then make your broth with the ham bone & water (enough water for your recipe...unless you want left-over broth that you can freeze)...pressure cook for at least 90 minutes and natural release.
Does the bone melt into the broth or stay whole after 90 mins in the pressure cooker?
@@sweetestkaysmith5838 the bone stays whole, but the marrow will separate from the bone...usually. If you want more calcium in your broth, add a teaspoon of either apple cider vinegar or white vinegar.
A dull knife is dangerous. Otherwise useful, thanks
Hows that ready in 5 minutes 🤔 sauté for 8 minutes..not to mention prep of veggies, then 15-20 cooking? Lol 😆 🤣 😂 5 minutes?
"Insant pot" ready in 5😉
Why do you make these videos so slow? Even putting them on speed 2 is not enough. It is so simple.
Definitely too much chopping 😢
I agree!
